That's because that's where we're at. You'll keep hearing it till Venkys put their hands in their pocket or Gregg finds a barrel worth scraping. -

But asking a professional footballer not to cross the ball in that position is counter intuitive. It's not their fault we can't recruit anyone to get on the end of the balls they are putting in. Ennis should be putting himself about more but he looks like another pointless signing. Over the Christmas period, people were saying we were overpassing it too. -

Telalovic at least had some presence about him which made space for the other players going forward. I said at the time Ennis and Markanday were a downgrade compared to the players that went off. Ennis being the worst of the two but at times Markanday looked like he was trying to play on roller skates. -

I imagine because the players are in a position to cross and that's their only option? If you think crossing the ball in a football game is the problem then let's just agree to disagree on where the problems lie. -

We played well today until a handful of players were knackered and had to make some subs. Rotherham didn't deserve a point, but that's what happens when the taps get turned off and you have owners and their underlings who don't understand the rudimentary demands of a football team. -

Weird how the head coach is being blamed for this. I'm watching it and I'm seeing stretched and in some cases sub-par players being asked to win football games week after week. There's been crosses going into the box and no one on the end of them, because we have no notable strikers. Goalie poor again. Disappointed not to see Gilsenan show what he can do but besides that this is on lack of or poor recruitment, and not just this year. -

I say it every game but... Venkys out. People will blame the style of play but we've been okay today. Too many tired legs and an overall lack of quality/experience on the pitch particularly at the back and up front. It doesn't help that the goalie gives the opposition at least one goal every match. -

That time of the match where we have some knackered players and not much to bring on. -

Anyone else think Ennis should have done better with that header? -

Second game in a row referee has gotten in the way of play to help the opposition. -

I'd be biting my nails if we were 4-0 up. -

Hill got a bit of luck there, but then put through a quality ball. Good finish from Szmod. Thank goodness he's stepped up this season. -

He's been okay, but we're missing a clinical player in the box. -
They did miss out on the play offs last season but on the other hand the second half of the season wasn't great and it was obvious that we needed strengthening in key areas and a bit of depth added. You can carry lesser players but not if you don't build on the quality you have. We're a lower mid table squad as we don't have any decent strikers, and this season it seems any decent goalies. We're also too reliant on kids in the first team but especially on the bench. I can't agree with Pickering as I've always thought he was a poor signing. His offensive work sometimes masks his defending, but I think overall he's a very poor defender. The same goes for Brittain too. I remember the few games where we did take fewer risks and we barely entered the opposition box and still lost. I'm not saying JDT is blameless, but don't think he has much choice with the players we are stuck with. At one of the later games (before the story was broke) I was told Waggott was planning to sell our best young players and get rid of any high earners to keep the lights on. That came from someone within the club who was pissed off, and it was being discussed (in disgust) amongst the players. Can't be a motivator! So I know who I blame.

Dominated the game so far but we're still lacking a striker, and now we're lacking a goalie. Should be more than 1-0 up, go in at the break 1-1 with them hitting the woodwork in the closing seconds. -
Those deliberate handballs.

There's no way Hyam is fit. He's been rushed back due to lack of options. Carter is over-rated in my opinion. Not a kid any more but still making schoolboy errors. Brittain had a few good matches when he joined. He has the odd decent game going forward but he's an awful fullback. Aside from the odd decent game where he gets stuck in, Pickering is a poor fullback and has been since Mowbray was here. People seem to have buried their head in the sand over this for some reason. Maybe it's because we're never going to get anyone better. Moran is a young lad out of form and I suspect fatigued from not being used to so many minutes. When he first came into the team he struggled but then got up to speed and looked great. But I'm not surprised he's ran out of steam as he only turned 20 in October. I think he's also missing JRC and Dolan as his decline seems to have coincided with their absences. We didn't have the best squad at the beginning and now with injuries/fitness issues it's showing us up for what we are. A lower mid-table club.

Possibly mid January now.

That *was* the January Window

If Wharton had got it right last night he'd have scored due to a Morton blunder. Morton didn't impress me at all. -
Which players?
-
Yep, then did nothing to build on it when what we needed to do so was obvious. Waggott knew the cutbacks were coming too, yet allowed everyone to believe we had a "project". Any other CEO would have prepared for it accordingly. He's an absolute chancer.

He's not the best looking fella but there's no need for that! -

I'm not sure it's about rescuing the season. It's just a bit more competition for places and a bit more quality to keep us nearer mid table rather than descending any lower. I think we miss Dolan even if it just means him creating space for others. We don't seem to have anyone doing that without him and JRC. -
I'd agree with that, at least if they blocked a signing he'd chin a Venky.
