  1. I propose a toast........."The Queen....The Duke of Lancaster" M1st will know what I mean.?
  2. He won't reach Bennett's crosses unless he grows to 15 feet high. Travel fatigue quite possibly. No jet lag from Africa. I hope he is back in the team.
  3. I don't think Peter White ever gave less than a 5 for any player. I think he (Peter) would have agreed on my ratings.
  4. We were 3-2 up playing 4 minutes of added time when we fouled one of their players close to the D of our penalty area. I fully expected their free kick to result in an equaliser. The ref blew, but not for a free kick, for full time. What a relief!! That, Mr mashed potato was what happened at Ewood today. And that is why dozens of us are trying to make a point about how we play (week after week after week) and not just a scabby win today.
  5. Not quite like watching Brazil but they were better than us.
  6. Walton 6 Bennett 5 Lenihan 7 Adarabioyo 7 Bell. 5 Holtby. 6 Travis. 5 Gallagher 5 Armstrong. 5 Rothwell. 8 Dack. 8 Graham. 7 Downing 7 Buckley 5
  7. I thought Travis had the poorest game yet. Bell actually played better than normal. So many of our players need good individual coaching which they don't seem to be getting. We need a good new manager with a proper coaching staff. I felt sorry for Barnsley who should have been going home with the 3 points. Anyway, now I'm glad we stole the 3 points from them.
  8. When the game started they announced no VAR. Whoopee!! Thank goodness for that. What a much better experience without it. I see the law about the ball hitting the referee had been tweaked so now the ref stops the game and gives a drop ball to one team. Utterly stupid. Why couldn't they have left it as treating the ref as if he were a goal post. Anyway, well done England. Was Mowbray watching and taking note how a game should be played? I doubt it.
  9. Probably grind out a 2-1 defeat.
  10. On super duper wages and a fabulous promotion bonus. Then he can retire in summer.
  11. You, Chaddy, don't own the club.............unfortunately!! We have these stay-away owners who know nowt about running a football club. Who in their right mind would want to come to manage Blackburn Rovers with owners like these? Most other clubs have owners who know how to run a football club and at least show an interest in what is going on. Look at Wolves, Burnley, Palace, Leicester, oh I could go on and on. Time for Venkys to show an interest or sell to someone who CARES.
  12. So when PNE complain to the FA about Stoke tapping up their manager Stoke can say Alex Neil? Who's Alex Neil? We were always after Michael O'Neil. Good excuse! ?
  13. I saw him queuing outside the Jack Walker stand for an under 23s game or a youth game when he was still with us. I said to him, "Are you injured or what?" He looked at me and his face became angry and he shouted," He won't pick me, will he". No wonder he left us to further his career. Good luck to the lad, I say.
  14. I watched the game too. Diaby was the one Barnsley player I thought was awful. I watched him, mainly in the second half, and thought I'm glad we have Nyambe and not this donkey. Funny how views differ.
  15. Walton is better than Leutwieler. Two poor keepers. Does anyone think that Fisher, if he were available, would be any better?
  16. But that first game amazed me where Celtic couldn't get out of their own half for long periods. How we didn't win that two-legged tie is beyond me.
  17. You meant to say "Two wrongs and a right is better than three rights"? Think about it.
  18. I hope that's a copy of an email you've sent to the Venkys, Gumboots.
  19. So that, Herbie, explains why Mowbray HAS to go. He keeps playing those stupid plumbers on the football field and hasn't learned his lesson yet. God! I wish we had a plumber like Tommy Finney on the field.
  20. People talking of bringing back Hughes. He would have to select a new backroom team if he did come back. Might not be the same.
  21. Compare that to the Cowley brothers of Huddersfield who were bouncing around and up and down shouting encouragement the whole game. Chalk and cheese.
  22. This is so in national fixture lists such as in newspapers. Check the Rovers programmes of 40 years ago where the fixture list gives games home and away. Rovers score always first. Im looking at a Rovers programme v Man Utd FA Cup 5th round 15/2/85. The fixture list in the programme gives our opponents in bold type for home games. Sept 22nd Notts County (non-bold type and therefore away) 3-0 scorers Lowey, Thompson, Garner. Oct 10th Oxford Utd away Milk Cup 2nd round 2nd leg 1-3. scorer Garner. Oct 27th Man City away 1-2 scorer Brotherston. Seems always putting home teams score first on Rovers fixture list is a modern change. Sorry to go of thread?
  23. We're gonna thrash North End tomorrow. Haven't you read the script? One of our goals will be Bauer O.G.?
  24. Is Ben Gladwin still on the books? According to Wikipedia he is, although it states he signed a two year contract which ended in June 2019. I cannot find him on the Rovers' site; in the first team squad or the development squad. Has he just vanished into thin air? Is that Rovers to lose 2-0? We Rovers fans always put Rovers score first.
