  1. I thought exactly the same thing but thought I would look foolish if I questioned it. Thanks for doing it for me.
  2. I thought that Friedel and Ince didn't get on (see eye to eye) when they both played for Liverpool and, as soon as Ince was appointed manager, it was Friedel who insisted on leaving. Maybe the investment failure was a smoke screen for the real reason.
  3. I didn't know he belonged to Burnley. Have we made a bid for him, that being why he's being recalled?
  4. Yes. Half of them in the left full back area of the Darwen End and the other half in the left full back area of the Blackburn End, so I am led to believe. Craig Bellamy? Roque Santa Cruz? Benny McCarthy? Also, a non-footballer who made a world of difference to Rovers was Lawrence Cotton. And if you're going for Andy McEvoy and Tommy Briggs, don't forget Ted Harper. What a great nostalgic thread this is!
  5. Difficult to tell. Last week I thought Evans was play-acting.
  6. Maybe Tony did his homework as usual and got our tactics right against them. If so, expect him to chop and change the team to face QPR. Let's hope he gets it right again.
  7. Try and do a Leicester away at Southampton.
  8. In which case every bicycle kick which scores a goal should be penalised and the goal disallowed.
  9. If Tony says we'll have to rely on youth then bring it on. Time to see JRC, Lyons, Mols, Vale and the rest in the first team. Pity some of them have long term injuries. But I won't hold my breath.
  10. To be fair, the North End player never saw him coming. At first I thought it was very tame and that Evans was play-acting and overdoing it. Obviously I was horribly wrong. But I still think it was a pure accident. I wish Evans all the best. What awful injuries we have had this season.
  11. Of course. They are billionaires who make their money from chickens and pharmaceuticals. So if ever your cock needs a shot of antibiotics give Rovers a ring, hey?
  12. Absolutely correct. And not just this ref that doesn't understand the game. I would say 80% of them don't. I don't know what can be done to improve that situation.
  13. I think Nyambe was brought back too soon from his previous injury. Again, poor management. But we know all the moaners on this board would have been up in arms if Bennett had been chosen to start.
  14. We did on the Riverside. It was disgraceful.
  15. PNE, to my surprise, were almost as nasty as Wigan. Niggling little fouls that went unpunished, time wasting and general game disruption. That was in the first half. All that was needed was a yellow card or two from the ref and he would have nipped it in the bud and stamped his authority on the game. We knew what was coming in the second half as Rovers players became exasperated with his weak control and two of them got booked. A worse referee at Ewood I haven't seen for a long time. Why are there not more strong refs? A draw was about the right result in the end.
  16. I hope not. Against Newcastle he missed so many chances I said to myself, "Glad we aint got him!"
  17. Can we please spell our own players' names correctly. It's Adarabioyo. The media call him A-da-ra-bay-o. But surely it should be A-da-ra-bi-o-yo. It took me a while to get used to Zurab's surname. I used to be able to spell it but I'm not going to attempt to now.?
  18. I've just watched that Lancashire Sport video. I now feel utterly depressed. If I were a professional footballer on Rovers' staff at present I'd be on anti-depressants and I don't think that they would be effective. What a miserable sod!
  19. When I first saw this thread the name Lenihan was in my mind. I'm surprised no one has suggested him as either winner or second or third. So I'll say Bell Only kidding about Bell. Downing it is.
  20. Judging by week after week displays over 18 months, these advanced training methods don't seem to be helping us. The proof of the pudding is in the eating. Wolves are a town club like Preston and us. They struggled until they made sensible changes and look at them now.We need to do the same but I won't hold my breath.
  21. There must be managers out there in the world that are as capable as Klopp, Espirito Santo, and even another Bielsa. Rovers problem is the ownership and structure of the club would be useless in finding such people. Of course we could take a gamble on Robinson, Ainsworth or (Damien) Johnson. That would be a real gamble and we could very well lose the bet. Over the past 18 months I cannot see the progression I expected to see under Mowbray. The whole training personnel needs a complete overhaul IMO. By the way, I think Barnsley have appointed the right guy, Struber, and I think they will avoid relegation.
  22. I always smile at the mention of a tea lady. Many years ago, when I was trying to sort out Rovers' problems, my mate chipped in with " And Eddie Quigley as tea lady?" ??
  23. The only two who know how football should be played in our team were Holtby and Buckley. Our defence is very poor with Lenihan trying to hold it together on his own.
  24. I tried to identify the past players on the pitch before the Spurs v Chelsea game and only got Pat Jennings and Ossie Ardiles. Can anyone help with the rest, especially the chap nearest the camera?
