  1. PNE should be saying to their players, "We'll pay you 20 quid a week. If it was good enough for Finney it's good enough for you".? OK.Allowing for inflation that converts to £1500 per week.
  2. It's time they changed back then. I remember my grandma colouring the front door step with a donkey stone. Not only that but council-owned paving flags that abutted her house as well. There's a playing field at the back of me. The council cut it. But I strim the part that they cannot cut right up to my fence. I also clear the weeds from the road gutter in front of my house because the street sweeper cannot get them all up. I'm proud of where I live and want to keep it looking tidy. Rovers should do the same.
  3. Good heavens, Chaddy. That's a bit picky isn't it? Or is the word pedantic?
  4. Rovers sent me an email at 14:42 today to offer me ifollow for £10. At 14:30 I had gone for a long walk with my better half. If they want my money they must communicate a lot sooner than that.
  5. You forgot Dickov. Or was he before your time?
  6. I'd like to see JRC play in front of Nyambe on the right. Both can attack and both can defend. The player I forgot was, of all people, Bradley Dack.
  7. I've just listed the Rovers current squad from memory. Guess the one player I forgot.
  8. I'm happy with the young squad we've got. OK, it was only a friendly but we only need a good left back bringing in. Both Wharton and Carter did well. Dolan is a gem. BB looking good. And we don't need another keeper as a sub. Fisher and Eastham look quite capable.
  9. Fisher looks far better than v Fleetwood. He catches shots instead of palming them. He's caught a couple of crosses too. I wish they'd stop doing replays for everything. That's how we missed their goal.I
  10. This fella will never change. And some people wonder why we want another manager.
  11. Thanks Perth Blue ? I'm in.
  12. Got an email from Rovers about tonights game. I clicked on the link to register. I can do anything but register. It tells me to put in my user name and the password I selected etc. There are loads of questions and answers but none about registration. I typed "registration" into the help box. Answer was did not recognise the word. Another shockingly awful web site put together by goons.
  13. Are you on the right thread? I presume you mean spraying it on the weeds At Ewood.
  14. Cannot see he has signed for anyone yet.
  15. Why do British football commentators call Seville by their Spanish name? They say "Say-vee-ya" Why don't they call them by the English term, "Seville"? If they must use the correct local name for the foreign teams then should be Bayern München. And I bet the cannot pronounce properly "Paris" in Paris Saint Germain. Anyhow, it should be "Say-bee-ya" for Seville.
  16. Bayern's manager is Herr Flick............straight from "Allo allo". He's done well, though.
  17. Spoiler......... I see it's half time and this forecasted goalfest hasn't produced one yet.
  18. And a young Damian Duff, Damian Johnson and a Tiny Taylor too.
  19. Well I've just watched the game up to after our 4th goal. I saw the rest of the game in real time. Rovers defence in the 2nd half were atrocious. They played the ball back so many times that Eastham must have had more on-the-ball minutes than any other player. Contrast that to Fisher in the 1st half who had so little to do. He wasn't at fault for their goal. Alright he made one awful mistake with a misplaced pass and Davenport had to clear off the line, but not Fisher's fault. All Rovers players were OKish. It's a pre-season runabout. Players I noticed having a particularly good game were Armstrong, Buckley, Chapman and Dolan. Good to see a nice Rovers shirt without that horrible Bet 10 logo.
  20. A time machine could take you back to before world war 1 to see Crompton's Rovers winning the title with Eddie Latheron and Danny Shea. Or to see Harry Healless, Roscamp, Puddefoot etc. I would love to have seen Ted Harper and some of the goals he scored. But the games I would love to re-watch ( I saw them as an 11 year old) is Rovers 9 Middlesbrough 0 in 1954 I think and Rovers 8 Bristol Rovers 3 when Briggs scored his 7.
  21. I bet the hand driers in the gents toilets on the Riverside are still the same useless ones. Venky Rovers don't give a toss about the fans.
  22. That, Stuart, is a brilliant suggestion.
