Thank you, Boris. Nice to hear some positive thoughts. Makes a change from all the negativity on this board. But do you really think you (Rovers) can deliver?

news Business Event / Q&A Tony Mowbray & Steve Waggott
bazza replied to a topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
It's ok to plan big investment in some quarters. But sometimes little things need attention as well. Why can we Riversiders not exit the ground via the back fire escape any more? The hand driers in the gents toilets of the Riverside are abysmal. They don't encourage washing and drying of hands after having a pee. Such a small amount of money in comparison would be needed to upgrade to Air Force or similar. I find in many businesses that attention to small things is forgotten and hence customers are put off. I always judge a pub on its gents toilet. If it's clean and everything works properly, even if the fittings are ancient, then I know that the licensee probably takes great care in his or her cellar and the beer will be good. -

Of course. But my point was the PFA seem to be treating Bolton better than Bury. -

And Gordon Taylor is an ex Bolton player.? -
I thought Bell was also injured along with Williams and Hart. If so we could be starting with Downing at LB. Why not Joe Grayson?

My grandson hated football until his grandma forced him to come with us blokes to watch Rovers v Rochdale on Boxing Day, 2017, aged 15. One game and he was hooked. He now knows more about Rovers current squad than I do. He keeps me informed by WhatsApp about away games. Unbelievable.

When Duff, Dunn, Johnson and Taylor came into the first team, obviously Duff was special. But the other who impressed me at that time was David Dunn. I couldn't believe how good and how confident he was in bossing the midfield. Happy days.

Not that you'll see many youngsters on Saturday versus Charlton.?
-
Yep. I bought a home shirt at 50 GBP (can't do the L pound sign on my Mac) in early July and got 16 GBP knocked off.
-
Weren't we all in our younger days.?
-
95%certain it will be another gaming/betting/gambling company. Football's gone to the dogs. (And horses etc.)
-
Not while we have Elliot Bennett.?
-
I keep trying to pick "my" team and every time there is one position that stands out as unfillable. Left Back! Two choices, Bell or Hart. Not happy with either.
-
I hope TM picks what the fans would call a sensible starting 11. But, like a lot on here, I have my reservations.
-
Never!! Surely none of our posters ever get upset.?

“We work to a budget and as I’ve done throughout my career I’ve tried to stick to budgets. “I don’t go back cap in hand to the owners asking for more money. “When you have to wheel and deal you have to wheel and deal. “We sold our goalie so we could put the money towards a centre forward and a central defender. “Sometimes you have to sell to strengthen other parts of your team." Can you imagine Kenny telling this to the press when Uncle Jack owned the club? So much for the billionaires in India. I know we'd have gone under like Bolton before now if it weren't for them, but surely they can support the club better financially than they do. And don't start all that FFP crap to me.

I just hope Mowbray has the balls to change the shirt at half time, like Ferguson did for Man Utd, when the players complain they cannot see each other. Shocking kit! Also Doctorryan suggested making our own kit. Good idea but why oh why would anyone want to stick a sponsor's logo on a home-made kit? I knew a chap once who insisted on wearing only designer clothing. It must have cost him a fortune just to advertise the companies who he paid that fortune to. He said we all had to keep up with fashion. I wonder if he's now covered from head to toe in blue tattoos. The lunatics still seem to be running the asylum.

If we don't sign a CB I would want a Lenihan/Williams partnership there. Left back is a really weak position IMO.
-
I'm amazed that you of all people, Philip, consider that there are four halves in a whole shirt.? I'm retiring to the bunker now before I get blasted.
-
Collier was a good goalkeeper and getting better until I suggested such to my mate. Then all of a sudden he started making mistakes and his career went downhill from then on. Sorry Darren. I should have kept my big gob shut.
-
I'm not going to ask why you wouldn't want to ring up and "deal" with the staff.

Funnily enough I would love Charlie Adam in our squad. But we already need to offload some midfielders.
