  1. Yes, I mentioned that I went on the Darwen end. That’s where the home fans stood. Pre 1960 the BBE wasn’t covered and I’m sure that’s why they gathered there.
  2. What a classy player Mike Newell was. Him and David Speedie!
  3. My dad was a joiner and made me my rattle. Painted it blue and white as well. Could hardly lift the thing, never mind swing it around. It was huge.
  4. I just mean currently in the starting 11. Dack would not be quick enough for the way we’re currently playing.
  5. I don’t see any place for Dack in this side, playing this way Mercer.
  6. It really should speak volumes to the FA when fans of a club 2nd in the old second division are not looking forward to an F.A. cup semi final because they “know” they’ll get thrashed. Do the F.A. care? Do they hell.
  7. Just had the courage to post. I was so disappointed. Every single one of them, the players and manager deserve praise tonight. I thought they were all superb. Rovers were the better team pretty much throughout IMO. Ive given rovers a fair bit of criticism this season and rightly so. Today was the best performance for a long time. Can’t remember being has impressed as I was today. Im not going to criticise JDT either. He’s the one that got us here. As for his subs giving the initiative to Sheff Utd, well it did, but if we were to be honest you could really point to a squad stretched to the limits.
  8. Many times we see the ball hit hard at an arm in an unnatural position but not given as a penalty because he had no chance of getting out of the way. Rightly so IMO. Anyway. I thought Rovers were really, really good today. Sheff U will know that too.
  9. It hasn’t. The laws of the game haven’t changed.
  10. The law still states it has to be deliberate handball. That’s never changed. There have been guidelines issued which you quote to help refs interpret whether it is intentional or not. It still has to be deliberate though.
  11. Apart from the law saying it has to be deliberate. It wasn’t IMO.
  12. This might have been mentioned - but does anyone else remember Sheff Utd having two men sent off against us at Bramhall Lane a good number of years ago? I’m sure we won that day.
  13. Burnley are a very good side, running away with the Championship title. This just shows how for the majority of “real” football fans the game is if not corrupt, then very close to it. These top PL sides are light years above the rest for just one reason- foreign mega rich owners who throw absolutely, seemingly endless fortunes at the clubs. Nothing here that nobody else doesn’t know, but it just stinks.
  14. He’s been the difference.
  15. Darwen end, but after the toss, if rovers were kicking towards the Blackburn end made a rush to the Blackburn end. Moved to the riverside shortly after, standing in the same spot next to the Stantion every game - just over the halfway line towards the Blackburn end. Finished up in the Jack Walker upper after it was redeveloped.
  16. I haven’t seen that either Gav. Fantastic pictures. 95 years ago.
  17. We were back to where we were before this run. Too much slow play in and around our own area, coupled with defending you see on the park every weekend .They can put that right though. All is not lost. Good wake up call tonight.
  18. We’re just second best everywhere. They’re winning every 50/50
  19. I’m very nervous with this one. After the recent displays we get to thinking we’ll win every game. We won’t obviously, but this season just feels different. Is this particular bubble going to burst? God I hope not.
  20. Yes, that’s how it was originally worded. Since then commentators close to Lineker have said that’s not true. They say he’s been suspended for refusing to apologise. Ian Wright won’t appear in MOTD tomorrow in support of Lineker. Apparently it’s only one episode of Attenborough’s series that’s been excluded so it doesn’t upset right wingers.
  21. He hasn’t stepped back, he’s been suspended. The BBC have also cancelled David Attenborough’s new wildlife series because it might upset right wing Tories.
