  1. Don’t underestimate this Lancs team. They’re a good side even with so many of their main players out. They bat deep and are quite capable of digging out a score even after a really bad start. Williams, Bailey, Hurt, Lamb and even Wells can restrict sides. Theyre having a good season.
  2. Lancs favourites now 🤞🏽
  3. Unfortunately his all round play always had a negative effect on team performances. That’s why, although every team needs a goalscorer, he was completely overlooked by the Scotland managers who desperately needed a striker - and every club manager afterwards. That wouldn’t have happened if he was as important to the team as his fans say. Then again, they brush that aside. ”who’ll score the goals when he leaves” his fans said. Well Rovers actually scored more goals after he left. Rovers scored 20 goals in 21 games before he left. 26 goals in 21 games after he left
  4. There is one other stat. He’s 23 and hasn’t proved himself at championship level. We need players who we know can play at this level.
  5. Scouts frequently attend games. Doesn’t mean they’re scouting anyone in particular.
  6. 👍 I keep saying it, but we need a central striker/front man.
  7. 16 senior goals in his career. 13 of those in league 1.
  8. George Hirst? Why? What does he offer that we need?
  9. and when we don’t have control of midfield, we don’t have the option of bypassing the midfield with an early ball to a front man capable of holding the ball until others can support him.
  10. Absolutely. It’s about winning. Winning football is about scoring more than the opposition. Why that isn’t enjoyable beats me. These people who wanted him sacked are the ones who thought it would be easy to find a manager who could get us out-footballing Arsenal and Man Utd. 12 years ago. Who did we find?
  11. We should have sold Brereton and used the money to replace him with a front man who can hold the ball up, score a few goals and someone with creativity and a few goals in him, just behind. Far more balance than having the only goalscorer in the team playing out wide.
  12. It’s no surprise to me. We don’t even have a squad that can line up in a regular 4-4-2 formation. we’ve been pissing about for years now just bringing in anyone we could get. Didn’t matter where we could play them, whether they fit into any kind of formation we wanted to mould a side into, or how long they might stay. It’s pathetic short term thinking.
  13. I don’t read it like that glen. I think that’s a bit too literal. GB will no doubt recommend players, do the hard miles and do any negotiating. JDT will be aware of the situations and players being pursued and certainly wouldn’t accept anyone he didn’t want. It’s already been said he will have the final say on players. It couldn’t be any other way.
  14. If he won’t sign a new contract, then he wants leave. No?
  15. It was said that JDT would have the final say on transfers though. I can’t believe that he wouldn’t.
  16. I would argue that even with him staying the current squad could well be relegated.
  17. If we sell Diaz this window then we’ll need three more strikers in the next ten days. If we don’t sell him we’ll be throwing millions away. Please nobody mention Gallagher. If he was a striker he’d be playing there now. Its a huge mess.
  18. There’s talk that the county games will be reduced next season as part of the “performance review”. It really takes some understanding, that does. Where will the test cricketers come from?
  19. We need at least two quality strikers NOW, before Brereton goes. IMO. It won’t happen. We won’t even get one.
  20. His project was to become one of the biggest clubs in Europe. He wasn’t looking at 5 years to get out of the old second division.
  21. The seasons started that’s why. How are we going to persuade other championship clubs to sell players of the standard we want - when the window closes very shortly? How? We can blame Greg Broughton or anyone else, but this situation was avoidable. Fans could see what was going to happen as the season drew to a close and THE OWNERS DID NOTHING.
  22. The answer is in the hands of our very rich owners. They have the power and financial clout to steer us onto a better course.
  23. If that’s true and it might be, nobody told JDT. If nobody told JDT, we have a problem.
