  1. Crawley gone first ball. 85/5
  2. 👍 Yes, we’re both (all) on the same wavelength. There seems to be a push towards more fan involvement and more scrutiny on the owners. - which would be brilliant. The bigger clubs will push back against that I’m sure. Why? Because fans should be seen and not heard in their ideal money driven world. I would love it to happen though.
  3. In my mind, if there is no promotion or relegation and the same teams play each other year in, year out, all the games are show games. The only thing they’re trying to do is attract the money. Nothing else. It’s not in any way a competition, is it?
  4. Barcelona stay committed to the super league. https://amp.theguardian.com/football/2021/apr/22/historic-opportunity-barcelona-stay-committed-to-european-super-league?utm_term=Autofeed&CMP=twt_gu&utm_medium=&utm_source=Twitter&__twitter_impression=true
  5. What the American owners in particular want, is the ability to stage show matches around Asia. They really don’t want any competition. They don’t want competitive football of any type. They simply want to sell their brand for as high a price that they can, to anyone who will pay it.
  6. Someone tell me how this situation now, isn’t exactly the same situation we were in with Kean? Comparisons are valid in my opinion. I never believed we would be in that position again.
  7. Yep. North End. Nowhere near where they were two seasons ago, when Mowbray thought we couldn’t compete with them. Theyre now a poor side but still above us. Is this the journey?
  8. One things clear, if the manager isn’t changed, the football won’t. Its been the same, turgid, one paced, predictable stuff that he can’t change even with substitutions. His squad, developed over almost 5 years is probably the least adaptable we’ve ever had. He can’t/won’t even throw a centre half up front for the last few minutes to shake things up a bit.
  9. Don’t know how reliable this source is...
  10. If these are confirmed, it’s over, finished.
  11. Unconfirmed reports that Chelsea have pulled out of the ESL.
  12. Strong and excellent words from Everton fc. I wish we had owners capable of there sentiments towards the history of football in this country. https://www.evertonfc.com/news/2111866 I know this is a full cut and paste, but hopefully the mods will leave it untouched, but if not, that’s okay. I understand the rules. Everton is saddened and disappointed to see proposals of a breakaway league pushed forward by six clubs. Six clubs acting entirely in their own interests. Six clubs tarnishing the reputation of our league and the game. Six clubs choosing to disrespect every other club with whom they sit around the Premier League table. Six clubs taking for granted and even betraying the majority of football supporters across our country and beyond. At this time of national and international crisis - and a defining period for our game - clubs should be working together collaboratively with the ideals of our game and its supporters uppermost. Instead, these clubs have been secretly conspiring to break away from a football pyramid that has served them so well. And in that Pyramid Everton salutes EVERY club, be it Leicester City, Accrington Stanley, Gillingham, Lincoln City, Morecambe, Southend United, Notts County and the rest who have, with their very being, enriched the lives of their supporters throughout the game's history. And vice versa. The self-proclaimed Super Six appear intent on disenfranchising supporters across the game - including their own - by putting the very structure that underpins the game we love under threat. The backlash is understandable and deserved – and has to be listened to. This preposterous arrogance is not wanted anywhere in football outside of the clubs that have drafted this plan. On behalf of everyone associated with Everton, we respectfully ask that the proposals are immediately withdrawn and that the private meetings and subversive practises that have brought our beautiful game to possibly its lowest ever position in terms of trust end now. Finally we would ask the owners, chairmen, and Board members of the six clubs to remember the privileged position they hold – not only as custodians of their clubs but also custodians of the game. The responsibility they carry should be taken seriously. We urge them all to consider what they wish their legacy to be. Everton FC Board of Directors
  13. Neville about the Leeds-Liverpool game. Next season this game won’t matter to Liverpool. They will automatically play in the super league. They might as well play the kids.
  14. They also want their cake and eat it. They want to continue in the PL, where they are currently way ahead financially of the rest - while at the same time, alongside that, earn billions from the ESL. Greed on a massive scale with no thoughts for any other clubs or the structure of domestic football.
