That’s because Waggott and Mowbray between them have turned this small town club whose best days are past it, which definitely can’t compete with giants such as PNE, which wants - not needs to sell part of a superb academy site for housing and which is happy to employ a failing manager and CEO no matter how bad results on the field are. Most footballers whether moving permanently or on loan like to think they are going somewhere with at least a bit of ambition. Why the hell would they currently choose BRFC?

Shame it stopped after 30 mins. I could listen to Souey all night. There are a small number of people in some sports, who I sit upright and listen to and Souness is pretty near the top of that list. The price tag doesn’t prove anything about their ability - which is nowhere near good enough Gav. You can’t defend your way to mid table. IMO, if Mowbray can’t find two forwards that can score 30 goals between the two of them I doubt we will finish mid table. Better hope Dack comes back and works miracles.

To a number of posters who are saying they would rather play our youngsters than bring loans in from elsewhere. Do you know that our youngsters are all better than those we could get from other clubs? No, of course not. Does it matter that we should bring in the best players that we possibly can? Of course it does. Ive never heard such nonsense.

Rovers moving away from Brockhall won’t match what they currently have, will it? Wouldnt it be more sensible to have a default position of opposing any move from what is a fantastic facility until you know what the alternative proposal is?

Sadly, there are always fans who swallow these kind of “plans”. Just as they swallow the idea that selling your best players and replacing them with untried youngsters from lower leagues with a “potential” sell on profit is a good idea, or the right way to go. When you don’t have any money there’s no reason why it should take season upon season to build a decent squad. There’s as much chance of getting a squad together in the first couple of seasons as there is in six seasons. You can’t gradually build when you’re skint anyway because anyone half decent wouldn’t hang around for too long either. If Mowbray was capable - we’d have seen it well before now. Long term plans are for the benefit of one man, the manager.

I was around when FourLaneBlue put an extraordinary amount of work into the history section. Is he still around? That alone is worth preserving if possible. As for adverts (sorry) Admin must do whatever they need to do. It’s fine by me. I’m just grateful this site is still in existence.
