  1. Thinking out loud again.., This happened 4 months ago. Could it be that it was Venkys intention to transfer the STC into their own hands, sell it off and pay themselves the money from the sale without reinvesting very much at all in a new training facility? We know they were looking at cheaper sites nearer to Ewood? I know it says they paid £16m for the land but that might have been paper money to satisfy the sale legally. Could the reason that nothing has been said about this be because it’s in abeyance? All conjecture - but the fact that it’s only the STC and not the whole of Brockhall is a clue here.
  2. If Venkys bought the STC from Blackburn rovers, does that not mean they are two separate companies @RevidgeBlue?
  3. That’s how I see it. edit… but only the STC? It must be linked to the attempt to sell the STC recently?
  4. Selling only the STC and not the whole of Brockhall to the owners in order to get round FFP doesn’t make much sense to me.
  5. It’s very entertaining watching all of us on here who don’t have a clue what we’re talking about, turning into a whole forum of superleuths. Anyone out there actually “know” why this transfer of ownership might be happening? 😀
  6. I guess in the event that the owners sell the club, the STC wouldn’t be included.

  8. Why would Venkys just buy the Senior training centre and not Brockhall in its entirety? The STC was the part they wanted to sell.
  9. Just to add, I hope I didn’t offend anyone with that last post. I can’t stand racism and sometimes being blunt helps clarify exactly what goes on with some people.
  10. Yeah I know. Relative of mine emigrated there 40 years ago. They came home again after about 20 years - his wife didn’t like it out there. when I asked him about the racism his view was that the blacks weren’t capable of being educated above where they were. I doubt he was like that before he went out. It must be contagious out there.
  11. Quinton De Kock made himself unavailable for today’s game vs West Indies for personal reasons. Before play today cricket South Africa issued a directive that said all of their players must take the knee before the game, which they did. To an outsider it looks like racism is still rife in South Africa. I would imagine this episode will reopen old wounds. I just don’t get what goes on in some peoples brains.
  12. Stokes is back for the ashes series.
  13. 5 years of Mowbray for what exactly? 5 years and £100m of Venkys money totally wasted in my opinion. He just shows total disdain for any suggestion that we might do better.
  14. Yes, it’s excellent. The most successful sides are the sides that go at the opposition from the off and never let up. Respect the opposition always, but never believe they have a right to beat you. Always believe that over 90 minutes you can impose your own game and get the better of them whoever they are. No other way is going to make you successful IMO. All this talk about the opposition being ahead of you, or having more funds than you, gets you where exactly? It’s bollocks and will never get you to the top of any league.
  15. At the last count Mowbray thought we were some way behind competing against PNE. I remember when we had managers who demanded that we were better than the opposition.
  16. Yes, - I didn’t mean I thought we’d go down, I merely meant that when we look back at the programmes from this season it would be so very obvious what a poor squad we had.
  17. I can’t imagine Mowbray will know where to start after that performance. It wasn’t just an off day. Individual performances were very, very poor, up front we posed no threat whatsoever, midfield was completely awful and the back four were anything but convincing. We couldn’t maintain any shape, we couldn’t lay a tackle on a rather boring QPR side. If you look in any old programme and look at the relegation seasons, you’ll see the squads and realise how poor they were. I suspect we might be doing that in a few years when we look back at this seasons programmes.
  18. Can we rely on the owners to get involved now?
  19. Tony’s post match presser should be reassuring
  20. This looks like a relegation side.
  21. No shape whatsoever. We’re all over the place.
  22. I don’t see how that will do anything but accelerate the fall in demand for the newspaper.
  23. I’m not convinced Parky is tight enough to be a regular test bowler.
  24. I fear you’re right. The batting is a shambles.
  25. They are no different to any other club - apart from their catchment area. That’s the only difference. As you say, their fans deserve no more than anyone else’s fans and a hell of a lot less than others. If NUFC was situated in Bury, they would become Bury.
