  1. I don't think there will be anything in the Leeds link but I can imagine the agents queueing up already. Breretonmania, interest from big clubs, international footballer, advertising potential in Chile and the most important part - a free agent at the end of the season. Can't see any agents advising him to sign a new contract with Rovers.
  2. Is anyone waiting until after June 30th before committing to a season ticket? Presumably we will know soon after that date if we are going to be in a transfer embargo. To quote the LET "For Rovers, their ability to be embargo free could well depend on the prospective sale of Adam Armstrong" Doesn't look like Armstrong will be sold before the deadline so where does that leave us? No doubt the club will be issuing a statement soon ( Ha Ha!) Will a transfer embargo be the tipping point for some people and reduce ST sales further ?
  3. The whole episode is disturbing. Firtstly, the withdrawal, at the last minute, of an agreed contract is appalling - what would Jack think ? It sounds like the manager offered the initial contract only to be overruled - the club is disfunctional. Eventually Mowbray got his way - but to what purpose? As a favour to a player he had no intention of playing. What good is that to the club ? From the interview it appears Mowbray thought performances were good during the run of 2 wins in 17. Are the owners even aware of any of this ? Short term future looking bleak I'm afraid.
  4. You're right - the only thing keeping me away is the hot dogs ( well almost )
  5. A totally empty stadium would REALLY attract a wider audience and make much more impact
  6. That is very very true. Most match days I am tempted right up until the last minute. I even agree to go shopping with my wife to avoid a possible change of heart. So far I haven't weakened but with a few pints within walking distance of Ewood...? Thanks for the advice
  7. On principle I don't want to support the regime by putting money into their coffers. If I did attend a home match and shared my opinion by shouting 'Venky's out' throughout the game, I suspect it wouldn't go down too well. I don't want to spoil other people's enjoyment. I will just continue to encourage everybody to boycott, for the good of the club, and look forward to the day I can return to Ewood with a clear conscience.
  8. Not sure why its your duty as a Rovers supporter to buy a season ticket. I would say its our duty, as supporters, to do the best thing for the future of our club. In many people's opinion, the club would have a brighter future with different owners. As such, the best thing to do, as a supporter, is oppose the current regime. I believe it is my duty show my dissent by not buying a season ticket or any home match tickets. I am desperate to get back to Ewood to support the team on the pitch but I believe it is currently the wrong course of action for the future of the club. Carry on turning up as normal and Venky's / Waggott will carry on running the club into the ground. I like your idea of a BRFCS social at the pub/WMC though it would be good to meet everyone. I'd happily attend but would then trudge sadly home while the rest of you go off to the match.
  9. As a supporter I chose not to support the current regime at the club - in fact, I actively oppose it. I am a supporter and believe the best way to support the club is to try everything possible to persuade the current owners to leave. One of the few weapons I have is to not attend home matches. I wouldn't consider this bleating ( or bleeting! - this would get you zero points in scrabble )
  10. Imagine the disappointment of getting the Aynsley Pears card in a game of Top Trumps!
  11. We won't if we don't try! Even if it is small numbers involved to start with, momentum will build. What's the saying? - "Educate, Agitate and Organise"
  12. Totally agree that NAPM would not affect them financially in any significant way. However, a totally empty stadium with lots of media coverage ( and maybe protests outside the ground ) would be acutely embarrassing and would reflect badly on them. That is our only weapon.
  13. Lots of people coming to the same conclusion - We need to get rid of Venky's As others have said, Blackpool fans got it right - NAPM. They had very well organised fan groups who got good coverage in the media and released regular, well presented statements. They had a very well respected leader in Christine Seddon and everything they did seemed to be supported by 90% of the fanbase. The whole of Blackpool seemed to be involved - pubs had banners, taxi's had bumper stickers -'Oyston Out' painted on walls. They had some luck in the end with the court case going against Oyston but the fans were a big part of getting the case brought in the first place. We need to get organised. I thought we were getting somewhere with the meeting at Blakey's when Coyle was appointed but it all fizzled out. The only weapon we have is non-attendance and a media campaign. Everyone who loves the club needs to be involved. An organised effort may get results - we can have an influence. Operation Empty Ewood - Reclaim the Rovers.
  14. Hi O2G - I wasn't questioning your role at all. I appreciate it's voluntary and writing meeting minutes is tedious work - so thanks, keep it up. I was just wondering if Mr Waggott had a substantial input into the minutes after the initial draft. If not then that's my question answered. Cheers. It would be interesting to get a little more detail on the discussions though - who was involved, was serious consideration given to changing the manager ? What was the overriding factor in the final decision? Will he definitely be leaving at the end of his contract ?
  15. I agree about the style of play and it was a terrible game of football but Morecambe were organised from front to back and from start to finish. Totally solid in defence. Mowbray could learn a thing or two from Derek Adams about organising a defence and getting results due to good coaching. I believe he is off to Bradford next season.
  16. The question may have been asked but the meeting minutes are sent to Waggott for approval before being published. I suspect that any real details are redacted unless they fit the current narrative. Look at the actual wording: so he (SW) felt that they(the owners) deserved to make key decisions like the manager’s role. The position had been discussed and it had been decided that Tony Mowbray would be staying. He mentions the 'manager's role' as a decision for the owners ( ie the specifics of what a manager's job is at the club ) but he does not state that the discussions about 'the position' of manager invovled the owners. I suspect the discussions took place between Waggott and Mowbray. If the owners had spcifically told Waggott that they wanted Mowbray to stay it would have been in the minutes.
  17. I wonder if they have decided to move in this direction to provide a superior quality product at great value for the long suffering fans who deserve a reward ? or are they hoping to make more money this way?
  18. If Armstrong has ambitions of playing in the premiership there is no way he will sign a new deal. He could have another good season and walk away on a free. Why tie himself down by increasing the price Rovers could demand if he has an extended contract.
  19. How about #NoShirtsOnTilMowbraysGone -it may be more noticeable - remember Tango Man from Sheffield wednesday.
  20. Personally, I doubt there has even been any discussions. I wouldn't think the owners are really giving Rovers much thought at the moment (even less than they normally do!) If Mowbray had to put a case forward, how could he possibly defend his position ? He has always said we need to build slowly, continue the journey and develop the team's identity. After 4 years, this has failed miserably, the journey is in reverse and the only player with an identity other than 'bog standard jouneyman' or 'unfulfilled potential' will be leaving very soon. What can Mowbray possibly do in his one remaining season, with the sqaud he has other than continue to fail. What can he pitch to the owners to convince them he is still the man for the job? If there were discussions about a new manager next season it just proves that the only people who care for the club are us - the fans. Nobody with any clout within the club gives a rat's arse.
  21. Boycott all tickets - operation empty Ewood. Reclaim the Rovers.
  22. Talking to PNE fans at work and most are 'OK' with the appointment though not particularly excited - as you would expect. They keep pointing out two previous internal managerial appointments that went well - David Moyes and Billy Davies
  23. If Mowbray has a zoom meeting with India he will be reminding them that the 'journey' was reset to the beginning this season due to a really exciting change in style of play. He will need at least another 2 or 3 years to achieve the team's new identity - but don't worry the profit from Armstrong's sale will really help things along and Dack will be back before we know it. India will probably swallow it. Only half joking!
  24. I would honestly prefer this option to the current purgatory.
