  1. noun noun: journey; an act of travelling from one place to another. Championship to League 1 ?
  2. signatures could still be collected in the form of a petition with the letter as a starting point - sign if you want answers to the quesions posed in the letter.
  3. Great letter. Well done indeed. We need to keep the issue in the public eye as much as possible and keep asking the questions that will make them uncomfortable. If they can't answer those questions, more people will start asking them and the pressure will increase. All the effort is very much appreciated.
  4. Do you and your group of friends really believe this ? If Venky's had Rovers' best interests at heart they would also think about the fans and community. If they considered the Brockhall plans for 5 minutes they could ask: Will this please the fans ? Does this fit in with our promise about Jack's legacy? Will the benefits be worth the upheaval, time and effort ? Will there be any real benefits ? Will there be any benefit for outside ( or inside ? ) parties other than Blackburn Rovers ? It's because Venky's have no interest in the club that Waggott and Co have the opportunity to even think about selling off the crown jewels. What most fans feel for Venky's is the opposite of empathy because if we were in their shoes we really would do what was right for the club above all else - they don't.
  5. In a fantasy world where Mowbray actually gets sacked, would we be looking at a similar list ? No Cowley on there and not too many foreign managers listed. No way Preston would go for Ferguson again. I can see them going for Appleton or Derek Adams. If that were a list of Potential Rovers Managers I'd plump for Ainsworth
  6. I know it's called a 'false nine' or something but it looked to me like we were playing 4,6,0 yesterday. This gave us lots of bodies in midfield and helped us stifle Norwich to some extent and we had a lot of possession. But really, it was all to what aim ? We got a point and Norwich had an off day but it felt like a friendly match with both teams simply sparring without really getting down to the nitty gritty. Surely, the nature of our goal will make the penny drop with Mowbray that the possession based tippy tappy stuff we have been attempting all season is just pointless. He's not going to change anything though. At least we are another day closer to Mowbray and Venky's eventually leaving I suppose.
  7. I went to that gig but obviously didn't get there as early as you did. Sadly Pete De Freitas died a couple of years later when he crashed his Ducati - maybe the very bike in the picture.
  8. Can people please stop reminding me about impending defeats. I've got enough to worry about with the Brockhall nonsense.
  9. I think I've got an episode of 'Alaskan Bush People' to catch up on. Or I may watch Rogue Traders and listen for the name Waggott.
  10. I think you may be on to something !! https://www.mouthshut.com/builders-and-developers/Venkys-Infra-Structures-Bangalore-reviews-925919286
  11. Never too late to protest against Venky's ownership. I feel duty bound to continue whenever possible.
  12. Ah yes - Sorry Len. The highlight of the night too ! Maybe we will do it again sometime.
  13. Waggott has stated that if the building plans are turned down we will maintain 'the status quo' - so no change. This, therefore must be a realistic alternatvie option open to the club. If it ain't broke...
  14. Waggott's job is to cut costs. He has come up with the idea of amalgamating the training centres because it is cheaper to run one than it is to run two. He then sold this idea to India by saying building costs for the new centre will be covered by selling the land. So an overall cost saving with no outlay and a brand new traing centre - why would the owners not agree to that ? To them, Waggott is doing a good job - let him get on with it. However, this move will not guarantee Cat 1 Academy, the fans have not been consulted, Jack's legacy is not being honoured, will a single, smaller centre with less facilities ( no pool or floodlights ) benefit the club ? Is it worth the effort ? So basically cut costs first, consider the consequences later.
  15. But will the new training facility be guaranteed Cat 1 Academy status ? Is any of this is worth the effort? We already have excellent facilities for both a Cat 1 Academy and the first team. Lots of grass pitches, floodlit pitches, indoor pitches, swimmimg pool, class rooms. Will a new training centre squeezed onto a smaller space really be of so much benefit to the club that it is worth all the disruption and effort. I can't see it.
  16. There was no urgency or passion. After Reading scored they were happy for us to have possession because we were never going to break them down - this may fool some people into thinking we played quite well. We were lethargic and toothless.
  17. And what about the appointment of Coyle? I don't remember anyone being happy with that - even the people you are describing in your post. The uptake of 1875 protest during the Wolves match had a good level of participation. Even Birdy was up for it. There are people who will blindly approve everything the club does but the more enlightened fans need to step up to the plate. It won't be long before we are all saying 'if only' - if only we had tried something when we had the chance!
  18. Who said anything about staying at home? Boycott / protest outside the stadium. We need virtually everybody to do it - that's true but isn't virtually everybody against the Brockhall plans? You asked the question "what are the fans going to do about it?" - Let's do something! Being defeatist by saying 'it won't work' will get us nowhere.
  19. Exactly. We can do things to make them feel uneasy at least. We need more people on board with these ideas. Is a river chicken a duck ?
  20. Organised boycott - a totally empty stadium. That's not 'doing nothing'!
  21. Boycott - when we get the opportunity to go to matches again we should show our displeasure by not going. If everybody does it then if could have an effect. If everybody had done it years ago then we may have encouraged Venky's to leave and we wouldn't be in a position where the club's assets are being sold off for a bunch of false promises.
  22. Probably the same ones they used for the attempted Coventry stitch up. Coventry's training ground is in Rugby - not far at all from Bedford
  23. That;s the way it came across to me too. He is trying to imply that the aim of the scheme is to create this fantastic new training centre for the benefit of the club but in order to do that we have to sell the land to raise money. So how come there are no detailed plans for the new training centre but obviously many weeks of work has been spent drawing up the plans for the housing development? Must think we are all mugs.
