  1. A integral part of our promotion season. His goals at Ewood were vital. You wanted him gone last summer. Disgraceful
  2. Cheers mate. Coming from one of football's great thinkers that means a lot.
  3. With the ability to head downwards Rotherham could have been 2 up at half time. So could Millwall if they could shoot straight. We are where we deserve to be. Every team has a sob story.... Deep, man...
  4. The guy in the away kit looks like he wants to kill Souey. His mate is telling him to leave it. Probably for the best.
  5. Saw the highlights of the Chorley game. Ex-Rover O'Keefe with the opener for the Magpies and then Matty Unwin pulled off some fine saves. That challenge from Challinor though was a disgrace.
  6. Aye, cos it went really well after Bowyer was sacked. Bloody ruts.
  7. I hope @JAL's his agent. He'll be minted soon.
  8. https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/17215664.blackburn-rovers-1-rotherham-united-1-player-ratings/?ref=mac Fair assessment .. especially on Palmer.?
  9. ...and he didn't leave because he wasn't given money either, like was speculated at the time. He was well backed in the January transfer window (loans don't come for free) and, as he said when he left, budgets for the summer had not yet been discussed. He left (or so he was overheard saying after a press conference) because he was expected, in the absence of owners and boardroom structure, to be the spokesman for the club like he was at Villa, which he didn't want. Probably fair enough because the Villa job took it's toll on him. I think he also thought there might be a better job on the horizon for him too. You don't put a 'break' clause in your contract because you really, really want to be at a club. I was delighted when he left, he was relentlessly negative. Then Coyle happened, he was relentlessly positive. At least Lambert got the players fit.
  10. I hope it's not advice on finishing.
  11. I get the impression you're up there because of Biesla rather than because you've got the best players in the league. I think WBA have better players and a deeper squad than Leeds, mainly as a result of their Prem years. If Leeds go up it will be because Bielsa has played a blinder.
  12. I saw you had something like 78% possession. That suggests you can't defend if you're conceding 4 to a team that hardly has the ball. On the other hand I've got a mate who's a ST holder at the DW and he said you were the best team he'd seen for ages. The Championship is a brilliantly competitive league and a nightmare to get out of the right way..
  13. And me. Dreadful manager.
  14. Brereton played well again I thought. 2 assists in 2 games. He's certainly looking more confident.
  15. His targets were for full season tickets sold by a certain date. That was why he was able to state he hadn't met them. He can't now come out and say 'I changed the target date and the target and it's good news guys, we met them. Phew'. It's heartening to know that's how it works in your head.
  16. Indeed. I think we've got a real player on our hands and he'll only get better. Physically he's already a beast.
  17. Have you got a link, can't see that tweet. With two weeks still to go and not that many left it's looks like there will be a few Rovers fans in the home ends if Preston aren't diligent with their checks.
  18. Nice touch at Accy today and a good win in the cup.
  19. You stopped going because they appointed Coyle, but you haven't returned even though they've reversed that decision by sacking him and bringing in a better manager than Lambert?
  20. 2nd half he was looking for the ball inside the full back every chance he got but no-one was capable of giving it to him. He must have been very frustrated because he would have been clean through every time. He's been doing it regularly for 12 months. His improvement over the last year has been phenomenal.
  21. Bennett isn't really a full-back but Mowbray is obviously easing Nyambe back in slowly to protect his hamstrings. He's had a few problems with them now so the club need to be careful with him. He only came on because Reed got injured. Reed was poor today I thought. Bennett offers a lot more than just attitude. When Rotherham were getting on top first half we were crying out for someone to start winning the ball for us and upping the tempo. We were flat. That's what Bennett does. He's like Savage was for Hughes, someone who makes his teammates better., who chases lost causes, gets the ball back and gets the crowd up. Palmer is actually starting to work hard. Mowbray is obviously instilling in him the same work ethic as the rest of the squad. It's just that he doesn't create enough to warrant a place in the team IMO. I'm not sure what the answer is but as others have said Rothwell, Palmer and AA are not natural wide-midfielders/wingers so we'll always struggle to create. 5 goals at home from open play after 9 games is pretty shocking TBH.
  22. Agree on AA, he's getting better as he plays more but he isn't a creator of chances. His crossing off his left foot is very poor. Palmer has qualities, but he's one of those players who looks good without having any real impact on the game. That turn where he sent Bennett away was brilliant but it was on the half way line and it came to nothing. The passes to Nyambe came to nothing too and were fairly routine. I'm talking about creating genuine chances where he puts people through on goal or puts a cross on someone's head from 6 yards out. That's surely why we brought him to the club.
  23. I'd agree with both those statements. Evans was missed today but Bennett would always be in my starting XI. Creativity is a big problem in our team at home. We were better today as the game went on, and that move for the Graham chance early in the 2nd half was superb but it's very rare we string passes together like that and create clear chances. It's normally a speculative cross into a box devoid of Rovers players.
  24. I'm not sure either of them do. That may, however, be because of the way we play as a team. AA aside, we don't have many players busting a gut to run in behind. At least BB came on and made runs across the defenders and down the channels. He did it a few times and showed some good movement but never once got the ball. Oh, for a Tugay or Sherwood!
