  1. He'll pick you up in the jet he was going to Bolton on.
  2. Or Mulgrew if you want to look at it like that. But lets be honest it was all Coyle. At least Williams got player of the season.
  3. Sell to a rich Sheikh probably. Beyond that, not much. I'm not sure how much he's worth or even that he's a PNE fan. He probably doesn't want to burden his businesses/family with the club so he's trying to offload in the hope of getting his money back. PNE fans were giddy when he took over but he seems to have just covered losses. Even that has proved expensive. The Prem is the only game in town for an owner unless you do a Fleetwood or AFC Fylde and come through the leagues.
  4. After seeing Brereton come on to play on the wing I think G Mullan may be in charge of substitutions again.
  5. Best guess:- Raya Nyambe Lenihan Mulgrew Bell Smallwood Evans Bennett Dack Rothwell Armstrong 1-1 (Armstrong)
  6. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2018/september/tony-tempted-to-switch-things-up/ Williams back? Evans/Smallwood and Graham rested? Rothwell and/or Palmer to start? Choices, choices...
  7. I've not had the pleasure of the red-button yet. Tonight's the night. Is there commentary?
  8. On the plus side the article states the 'heroes' won't get to see any of the matches. I hear there's been quite a take-up of the offer from ST holders.
  9. Lenihan does all the rough stuff and the marking. He's there to give the striker a rough time. Mulgrew invariably has a free role and no marking duties as most teams only play 1 up front. Comparisons between the two are pretty meaningless. If the swapped roles it would be a different story. They complement each other very well.
  10. That Newell goal was something else. I was sat right in line with him in the RS as he dribbled across the area for what seemed about 10 minutes. Then he just sent it like an arrow at a 90 degree angle into the hearts of the Derby fans!
  11. Any half decent 'businessman' could do that to be fair. Just because the commercial side has been criminally neglected for years at Rovers doesn't mean the deals the club are doing now are due to his unique skill-set. He needs to start implementing ideas that increase attendances (I very much doubt he met his ST target for this summer) and further generate interest and income. If that's an impossible task then fair enough but he is not even trying. I'm not sure a 'Myers' type guy would change much. The social media and 'PR' side of operations appear to be good. We need do-ers, not talkers.
  12. I said elsewhere he's a bit like Kevin Davies was for Bolton. We play a similar way under Mowbray and Graham is the focal point. What always makes me chuckle is that just before the ball gets to him he does a tiny push in the small of the defenders back (always on the blind side of the ref) and then just casually nods it to a Rovers player. He doesn't even have to jump. Genius!
  13. Does anyone make a profit in the Championship unless they sell someone for big money or have parachute payments? Bolton, bizarrely, just announced a small profit but only because they sold Madine to Cardiff for £6m+. Hemmings has put in £73m according to that link.
  14. I think we can safely say Waggott is out of his depth. Or a liar. The 'onerovers' schtick is wearing a bit thin. All they've done is put prices up without any attempt to improve the atmosphere in a half-empty stadium (on a good day). Waggott is either just telling people what they want to hear or he really is completely out of touch with the (potential) fanbase. The fact that crowds have barely increased on the back of a promotion and with more goodwill that their has been for a decade is a damning indictment of his running of the club. Mowbray was openly astonished at the numbers that turned up against Oxford. Waggott has done absolutely nothing to bring those people back. It angers me. He is a waste of space.
  15. It's a generational thing to some extent …. and also that some club's fans identify comes from who they hate rather than who they support. Everyone has to have a fierce rival these days, even if one has to be manufactured. Do Bolton have one? I think it was Man Utd in their Prem years. On the generational thing, especially if you're over 40yo and were watching Rovers in the 70's and 80's Preston and Bolton have always been big derbies. I know Bolton and Nobbers fans of that age and they genuinely can't stand us. Nobbers fans round Leyland, Brig, Lostock Hall and Chorley are especially bitter! Ask their younger fans and it's all about Blackpool, but the 7k who turned up at Ewood know different. We are their nearest rivals after all, and they are ours. Still, I enjoy reminding them they used to have an official Man Utd shop in their city centre in the late 90's/ early 2000's. You still get a quite a few Rovers top in Preston. Anyway, I was just surprised @K-Hod was surprised the Bolton announcer called it 'derby day' when Rovers turned up. It's a pale imitation of what it was pre-90's but it's always been a pretty fierce local rivalry.
  16. Bolton is a derby. As is Preston.
  17. That'd be my guess. I don't think he'd play Palmer, Rothwell and Dack together for example. I think Rothwell deserves a start on the left tomorrow night. Nobody has made that position their own yet.
  18. Add Rothwell, but is he a half, a 1 or a Bennett?
  19. He wouldn't be played as a target man.
  20. Were you going by private jet?
  21. Chorley are 9 points clear at the top of the Conference North after 10 games. P10 W9 D1 L0
  22. That would make Lenny MotM and he was trying to claim an assist for a Villa goal for most of the 1st half! I'd go with 20 points for a dark blue, 5 for a light blue, -5 for an orange, and -20 for a red ...... Dack wins it from Graham and Mulgrew! True, but it was a slip while fannying around with it!
