Summer transfer window 2021.
windymiller7 replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
A point which seems to be going unmentioned re Armstrong, is that we can still offer him £30k pw, or whatever, smashing the wage structure, & then STILL sell him! If he signs it, he's happy with his new deal & it puts us in a better position when the inevitable bids come in, which they will! If they don't, then we deal with that in January when the bids come in again (barring injury). He won't stop scoring, he's proved it long enough at this level now. If anyone whinges, then tough, you explain the simple financial side of it and send them on their way. Oh, and can we please disable the multi quote function! When certain people use it, it takes me 10 mins to scroll through one post of pointless argument! Yes, I've had a beer or two, so apologies in advance. -

Have you got a link to any pics mate? -
RIP Paul. As a Chorley lad, growing up his name was never far from any football discussion.

Summer transfer window 2021.
windymiller7 replied to chaddyrovers's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
You've not added back on the £1.75m. Which we would still receive. 😉 15.5 - 1.75 = 13.75 13.75 x 0.6 = 8.25 8.25 + the original 1.75 = 10. -

Not quite. @RevidgeBlue was close, it should've been £6.7m. £10m -£1.75 = £8.25m. 60% of this is £4.95m. Add back on our original £1.75m gives you £6.7m. To clear £10m we need £15.5m -
I'll do it for free - I'll shadow him all day long singing "I know a song that'll get on your nerves" until he completely loses his shit! 😅 Bonus here is that if he turns round and lamps me, there's ground for instant dismissal & an assault charge, plus a bit of compo for me - Win win all round!

Oh yes, that well known phenomena where your face hurts when a ball hits your shins! Wasn't it Hakan Unsall who committed the terrible crime? Fairly sure he was still a Rover at the time too but I could be wrong.

Oh yes! Seems so alien as well now seeing the Silk Cut advertising boards around the pitch. You forget that cigarette advertising was huge in sport back then.

I actually wouldn't mind that in red & black as our away shirt (the one CM is wearing obviously) -

I think someone might've been having him on a bit there. Shirts were £50 at full price & were reduced to £20 at the end of the season ( I know because I bought one), name & number printing is £10. Didn't see if the Sky Bet Logos were on it or not, but I think they're another £5. -

All the shirts shown in that video are last season's mate. It still had the tags on so I think the reporter had probably just nipped in the club shop & got it on sale for £20 (no chance of Waggott giving them one for nowt!) -
Can't disagree with that one - Exhibit A: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maceo_Rigters

Oh, I totally agree. My comment was more in relation to those on FB/Twitter saying "we've" spent 2 years slagging BB off, which clearly isn't true. We've mainly spent 2 years slagging off Mowbray for spending £12m on him & Gally.
-
To be honest, most of the criticism has been about the amount we paid for BB (and SG), something which the players themselves have zero control over. If we'd paid say £500k for a young, promising BB and £1m for SG, I don't think there'd have been half the amount of discussion around either player. Yes, we've moaned about them on here, but generally in relation to the fee paid. I don't recall anyone getting personal about it. As for grief from the stands, I can only speak for home games, but as @Tom said, if anything we've tried to be over supportive as we'd all like nothing better than the pair of them to turn into world beaters. If that ever happened (extremely unlikely) then the only winners are Rovers which tends to makes us fans quite happy!

Season Tickets (inc. Renewal Poll)
windymiller7 replied to Stuart's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I went to the club shop a couple of weeks ago & there was a woman in there picking up a couple of them so I assume they're available for collection, if they've not been binned by now! I didn't purchase one, but it wouldn't surprise me if the club "forgot" to tell those that did to come & collect & relied on people ringing up to see what was happening with them. -

After that shit show from England last night, it was great to just sit & smile for 5 mins watching that. Thanks for posting the link. 👍 Edit: sorry wrong post quote. Should've been @TheRoversReturn

I hope they put them at the side of the pitch - we might score a few more! 😆 -
Really pleased for the lad. The experience certainly won't do him any harm other than him realising what an absolute muppet Mowbray is!

Slightly off topic, but kit related nonetheless, link below to the Euro 2020 kits. I really like the Italy home kit - clean, smart. Quite like Belgium's home kit as something a bit different. Portugal away? 🤢🤮 https://www.skysports.com/football/news/19692/12256085/euro-2020-kits-revealed-all-the-shirts-ahead-of-summer-tournament -
