  1. Fully agree Sparks. I get the impression that Rothwell is very much a confidence player. If he has a good game, he needs to be kept in the team, not dropped the following week. If one of his runs doesn't work out, he needs a "never mind, keep going Joe!" not a bollocking for losing the ball. Defenders hate having someone run at them at that kind of pace and we have no-one else who can really do that effectively. I'm fully in the keep him club, but, as always, we need a different voice with a different mindset in the dressing room! FOM!
  2. I think after the first post we're wondering whether you're 'H' or not before committing! 😉😁
  3. That last paragraph is the bit which gets on my nerves the most. A majority of football fans are not the neanderthals like those we saw outside Old Trafford, we are regular human beings with a reasonable degree of intelligence. We are old & wise enough to know when we're being treated like idiots. I get so wound up with this I'm actually struggling to state my feelings without going into a full X-rated rant. We are not idiots, treat us like ones at your peril!
  4. ......a majority of whom were down to 10 men!! Also Tony, just remind us again that, with the pitch being such a big issue, exactly how much have you convinced the powers that be to spend on it this summer? Toss pot!
  5. I'm glad you clarified this as I immediately thought of the 'lamping' incident but then doubted myself when I read the following replies as I couldn't remember whether it was Nzonzi or Givet.
  6. I wasn't sure whether to put this in the Premier League thread or here, however I thought it was probably more applicable here. Just read Tuchel's comments from last night - oh to have a manager with an attitude like this who takes responsibility for his actions and vows to learn from them. Right down to how his mindset could've affected the players: https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11668/12304758/thomas-tuchel-takes-blame-for-chelsea-defeat-by-arsenal-after-making-seven-changes-ahead-of-fa-cup-final
  7. I was just wondering if any thread on here had ever reached 1000 pages? If not, I have a horrible feeling that this one might be the first. 🥺
  8. Not forgetting "he's such a baby" (Bradley Dack, 8 May 2021) 😂 I proper chuckled at that one, plus "I usually have a go at him for being a bit thick" 😄
  9. Looks like THB is quite open to the possibility of coming back here next season. Prior arguments about it stifling developments of our own players aside, I'd be quite happy with that personally, I thought he was excellent once he was played in his proper position. https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/harwood-bellis-man-city-blackburn-20564352
  10. I seriously hope it is, because if that's from a genuine Rovers fan, we've got real problems! Our aim is survival!? WTF? I haven't posted much for the last week or so as it just gets me wound up, but that's tipped me over the edge again. FFS just get this mon & his fat mate out of our club, the stench is now unbearable!
  11. James Morrison ft Nelly Furtado - Broken Strings
  12. Odyssey - Going Back To My Roots (Don't blame me for the spelling mistake on the video)
  13. That Toney lad's not doing too bad either, or that former Exeter lad he replaced.
  14. I've still not managed to get mine off yet! 😅
  15. Knowing our lot, we'll probably give his dad a 3 yr contract as well!
  16. Do Umbro actually provide all the other merchandise in the club shop? If so, then the sizing issue can't be any worse under any other supplier. I bought my dad a polo shirt for Christmas, he's in his 70s & not too bothered about the style. He just likes something quite plain with the club badge on - he's in luck there!. Fortunately, I went to the club shop whilst they were still open prior to the 2nd lockdown. I picked up 3 polos to choose from, all supposedly the same size, and there must've been at least 2 inches difference in the width & 3 inches in the length from the "smallest" to the "largest". The lady in the shop found it quite amusing (not her fault obviously) when she asked if I was ok & I pointed it out. I must've looked like a right nutter holding all three shirts together comparing the sizes. I'll be honest, I didn't pay too much attention to what the inner label said and there was no Umbro logo on the front, so I don't know who they get them from. If it is Umbro, then it's shocking. Even Primark are more consistent!
  17. He certainly was. To be fair @islander200 mentioned him in his post, but yeah, he's another good example.
  18. Not a fan of suggesting people just because they worked under a top manager. Exhibit A - Brian Kidd Exhibit B - Warren Joyce And let's be honest, Mikel Arteta isn't exactly pulling up any trees. A good coach/No.2 under a top manager doesn't necessarily translate into a good manger in the making. Very often, they need to be an entirely different type of person in what tends to be a good cop/bad cop role. I'm not saying it doesn't ever work, there are plenty of examples where it does. I just think we need someone who has at least had some success as a manger somewhere rather than gambling on a novice in the hot seat.
  19. That's not good news to say the least! I was hoping @Wovers post was tongue in cheek as a bit of a dig at comments made by others about Mowbray getting the boot the other week.
  20. Exactly! You never think about us. 😂 We're not fat, we're "undertall". The missus said I needed to get in shape, I told her "round is a shape!" Edit: The worst ever were the Kappa ones - I'm sure I had a XXXL or something stupid and it was still skin tight, which isn't a pretty sight. I looked like a badly made sausage! 😅
  21. 90% agree. I always enjoy a big Rovers win, but this was definitely a bit less glossy than usual. As mad as it sounds, I'd have preferred a 1-0 or a 2-1. 5-2 doesn't polish the turd, it merely rolls it in glitter. Unfortunately, there's too many magpies about who lap up anything shiny! Agree with your 2nd post on THB. That lad is class & should go on to much bigger & better things. Never looks rushed or panicked, no last ditch challenges, reads the game superbly meaning he's nearly always in the right place at the right time. Distribution is good too. If we can get him on loan again next season we should snatch Pep's hand off.
  22. Wouldn't it be great to have 25k on for the opening game next season, all giving Mowbray absolute doggers, then for 2k to show up for the next when he's still in situ. Now that's a protest! As the Oxford game at the end of the L1 campaign showed, those fans are still lurking somewhere.
