  1. Seems more likely that he shared JDTs drive and ambition and now knows that he would never get PL football with us. No blame on SS from me - cred that he played his part in 2 games despite the situation. Club is gearing up for a relegation push rather than a promotion push (an exaggeration but I really do wonder if our owners would permit/enable promotion to the PL or if is actually past misdemeanors catching up with them that is screwing us over)
  2. I’m guessing 8.5 up front and clauses up to 12.5 if they stay up plus some form of sell on / profit (just in case) As earlier - would not surprise me if an agreement was made over monies due to SS from Rovers. Regardless - hope he does well and that we sign a decent keeper
  3. Does the club have a valuation that they stick by? Say 15m to Ipswich from day 1 then fair enough. Tell SS he can leave for 8 and then move the goalposts when it becomes obvious that they can get more. Contractually SS doesn’t have a leg to stand on and, if this conspiracy theory is correct then much credit to him for being professional. Again - key words “theory” and “if”
  4. Nope - just don’t like broken agreements. All speculation on my part but if it was a genuine negotiation from day 1 then I would have expected SS to have been reintegrated into the squad earlier Again - purely conjecture and speculation on my part
  5. I’m not unhappy that SS is still here - the question is whether he has been deceived. As to why - given the shitstorm behind the scenes I consider it a reasonable move for both sides at the time. Correct - no club has bid enough but have they been given a figure only for Rovers to then add a “by the way”. Seem to think we tried something similar with Ash Phillips only problem being that on that occasion it was written into the contract…
  6. Why do i get the feeling that it is down to rovers not being willing to pay SS the loyalty fee stipulated in his contract… On principle I could understand Ipswich refusing - likewise SS not putting in a transfer request if he had been promised a move if a certain fee was offered. Just the sort of bullshit move I would expect from SW/Shadow/V’s
  7. To be honest everything he said was scrutinized and interpreted despite much of it being standard new manager bs. After JDT and together with the weird fans meeting and propaganda on the website from “senior players” it caused a little unease. If we had won 5 on the bounce with him then the above would have disappeared pretty quickly. Personally I thought he was ill advised in some of his statements - needed to read the room better but I can understand it. If it had continued during the summer and now (bigging up the squad and not being honest about what is needed) then I would genuinely have believed him to be SW stooge. As it is now he seems to be honest whilst still fully committed to the job and squad
  8. Maybe someone should point out that a fully stictched and renovated pitch wouldn’t need so much seed if it is that expensive… What a cock! Of all the costs related to maintaining sport surfaces/facilities - grass seed is a piss in the ocean. Deliberate trolling of the fans imo
  9. And all it took was a picture on here showing just how fucking filthy it was… Take more pictures guys of all the neglect and see if you shame the cnuts into actually doing routine maintenance and essential repairs!
  10. We will pay Max 800k for a GK is my guess - the sum that was originally allocated for Wahlstedt
  11. I want him to stay to defend corners 😉
  12. Companies fail regularly - investments prove to be unwise and new markets/branches/ventures are ended with associated losses being reported somewhere in the accounts/balance sheets. It is not uncommon for a business to incur additional costs short term to end their involvement in a business/market/country. In short to have been wrong/stupid/misguided is rarely a crime but lying about it usually is as it tends to indicate something has/is not entirely pukka…
  13. We do have form for paying agents more than most though…
  14. I am guessing that O’Riordan (spelling??) has failed to impress in preseason - so the above question becomes very relevant
  15. How much money is needed to fund us until January? That is the initial fee for SS (I’m guessing 5m) with addons totaling 3m and a sell on (pointless but sounds good) meaning it will be announced as an undisclosed transfer “believed to be totaling over 10m…
  16. Why not - we have one for relegation with made up results 🤔😉🤣 Sure there will be some crossover - I like that this thread is liberal in terms of “the subject” but sometimes it would be nice just to read about players we are linked to and their merits/drawbacks without diverging into dunking biscuits and teacakes (discussions which I also enjoy for the record)
  17. We are on a new journey/project/chapter/era/model… U21 is the future - low wages/costs, guaranteed comp/fees and little pressure on actual results/achievements
  18. Or simply allow discussion on players linked. Too high wages is a fair discussion alongside their perceived ability - why we have no money and who amongst the shadows is controlling things is not. Mods decision final and much less leeway for tangents in that thread.
  19. Any update on Leonard? Bit concerning that he wasn’t among the subs or is it known that he will miss the start of the season?
  20. Was thinking the same thing. Wonder what the ”record” actually refers to as there is no way in hell that they shifted more shirts today than on all previous release days… Or is it record numbers for a day in this financial period 🥳🤡
  21. How much does spellcheck cost…?
  22. I think it is likely that we were due to pay the next installment of his fee… Strongly suspect that the buying club merely took on our obligations as there is no way in hell we got the reported fee for him
  23. Ironically that is probably how Brum saw it - getting rid is easy but replacing with an upgrade is tougher when the decision makers are tools
  24. Each time we have sold/lost our top scorer then a “big money” signing has come good the following season (Armstrong, Brereton, Sammie S) Given our recent lack of spending that should mean Gallagher comes good and bags 25 goals next season 🤔🫣🤣
  25. A mention for Kyle “Derek the builder” McFadz who has been solid today Eating my words
