  1. Hypothetically, because Silvester needed further information from Waggot, Broughton and the Players in order to submit the paperwork and they took almost an hour to confirm that back to him? Otherwise why did we do nothing for an hour? Do you honestly think Silvester just put his feet up and dossed about playing Angry Birds when he should have been uploading paperwork?
  2. Stop stating that as a fact Chaddy unless you have information that can fill in the lack of activity in the final hour which I posted about here. We have no idea why the paperwork was submitted late, and we have no evidence it wasn’t partly down to Broughton. For all we know blaming the secretary is like blaming the taxi driver for picking you up late when the desk forgot to give him all the information needed about the job. “Well it’s his job to drive the car here”. GB may have accepted responsibility because, well, it was his responsibility which caused us to start submitting the paperwork late.
  3. 69 point with our goal difference was simply never going to be enough after Tuesday night. We needed 6 points earlier, we need 6 points still. I don’t think we will get them, but the requirement in y head is not affected by tonight.
  4. Only thing I've learned from that is that Waggot showed up at Charlton when they were in the Prem, and by the time he left they were in league one and drastically doing cost cutting measures.
  5. When the weather is nice I'd probably go to the Fanzone and watch the second half of the early kick-off, except that the big screen within the fanzone is so blurry its almost unwatchable. To be fair they've now got bottle bars to ease the queues, and the queues for the pints does actually move fairly quick and have a queuing system in place. It's has been a good idea and does attract a lot of people, especially for those with kids. Everything else in your post about match day is spot on.
  6. Losses when he starts - 35% Losses when he doesn't start - 36% FACTS
  7. Neither bother me and it's good to get opposition views. Whenever we've had Preston fans on here they have generally been gobshites, but these two aren't that bad. They have to accept if they post on here they are going to get stick at times, but any time it's gone OTT the rest of the posters seem to get Gav back on his leash. Not sure if Longsider1882 has got DM's, cos he hasn't got any stick visible on the board to make him decide he might leave. Bit of an odd reaction from him yesterday.
  8. "Hi Greg, we still need info from you, Steve and the player to complete this form. We've only got about an hour left to submit" "No problem Ian. Let me contact Steve down at St Andews and I'll get back to you". (60 minutes of inactivity ensues)
  9. Everton then play Brighton away and City at home, so they could be almost gone by the time they hit the last 2 games. Whenever I see them they seem to have no spark or quality. If they lose on Monday I think they’re going down.
  10. I'd missed this until @Sweaty Gussets pulled you up on it but how can you tell me I CLEARLY don't know what's going on and to read up on it, and then post this when the timeline is out. 21:48 was the last contact with the EFL in relation to the contract, but we didn't make another move until 22:54. Why did we sit on that for 66 minutes before we then started submitting documents? Also, could other documents not have been submitted during this period whilst the playing contract was amended? The answer will be "Well that's Silvester's job to submit things", but what do we think he is doing? Watching the post game interviews? Making a brew? I'm not having he missed it because he just did nothing for around an hour and tried to rush it in the last 10 minutes. Something causes a delay in that hour, and I suspect it's because GB and SW have to be involved in agreeing something. We simply do not know what as the club have not properly outlined what happened. The only official thing we have is Broughton accepts responsibility, which I take at face value and suspect he is at least partly culpable.
  11. I commented on how against Coventry City last week there were clearly a large number of Season Ticket holders absent. It seems a lot of people either can't or don't make mid week games. Indeed, a often have to rush back from wherever I've been working, get home and go straight down to Ewood to make midweek games. If I didn't have a season ticket for all season I image some of them I'd just sack off. If we had "weekend only" season tickets, then midweek games would need to be priced incredibly low else we would have about 6k or 7k home fans actually attending.
  12. I was going to say that's a bit rich after the one he blazed over the bar right at the end. But to be fair he mentions it and I think it's all a bit tongue in cheek.
  13. How do we know that’s down to how JDT has developed him? He was outstanding in most of his games pre World Cup. He then didn’t play till April and has come back playing equally as well. No one is saying he should have played every week and been burned out. But in some games he surely would have been beneficial to have come on for 45 minutes here and there, especially as we all generally agree that Morton has had to play far more football this season than he was probably expected to.
  14. Where? Please show me these ‘many’ posts that show people are ‘more excited’ about criticising JDT than the prospect of his potential development.
  15. He didn't get better by not playing. We thought he was good from his brief appearances, and since he's started he's actually probably been better than we hoped. And as for the bit in bold, did you miss my last paragraph above? No-one has ever said play him every minute and run him into the ground have they?
  16. Why are those of us who have watched us struggle all season, whilst a player who looks levels above what we have hasn't been picked, 'armchair fans'? I'm personally getting a bit fed up of these comments from "fans" saying JDT has done right by the player by not featuring him from October to April and it hasn't cost us any points or a play off place. Those same happy-clapper-fans would be lapping up JDT as bold and brave had Wharton starred all season and got us in the play offs. There is a middle ground here. He needs looking after but in those game when we were awful first half, he would have been a far better option to bring on than what we had, and if even one of those games had resulted in a win we would still have it all in our own hands.
  17. Also, idiots running on the pitch during the game towards the end. One numpty did it from the home end at Preston. We had 2 do it last night. Why?
  18. I have no idea, and as much as I've read there is a big void in the story. Now apologies if I missed it in the EFL report, but if you know fill us in on what happened in that hour. Why did we not start submitting the paper work until just before the deadline?
  19. Fair points. Its just unlike Venkys to inform the manager he’s going to be left high and dry 6 months in advance. They normally leave them hanging.
  20. He’s done it all season. He’s a one trick pony. The lad next to me said don’t let him on his left foot seconds before Pickering did let him cut in on his left foot. It really wasn’t that difficult to stop from when he picked the ball up.
  21. I find it slightly difficult to believe that we would bring in GB and a new recruitment team, as well as a new manager. Then spend £5million within a few weeks of them arriving, only to then have no money for them once they have finally assessed the squad after 12 months.
  22. Greg Broughton. After January, you’ve proven to be another incompetent buffoon in the Venky’s saga. None of your kind have ever walk, and are rarely pushed, so you’ve probably got a summer to prove m opinion if you wrong. Actions will speak louder than words.
  23. Just one more thing I’d like to add to the debate before I retire for the night. Sky Sports. Stop putting us on the box FFS.
