  1. Was even earlier I think Gav, from around Rd 5, that his corner seemed to be panicking. That is way more worrying than taking the knee to get out the fight. If his eye was badly damaged then fair enough, I don't blame him for taking the easy way out. He's young at 23 and potentially plenty more battles ahead. But it seemed from early on that he simply didn't like getting punched. Which is a slight issue for a boxer. I reckon the bloodied nose was troubling him too. Looks like he can dish it out, but can't take it back.
  2. Good call. Not many gave JJ a chance.
  3. Barnsley have scored exactly 2 goals against us the last 6 games running. In 14 matches against them since 1997 they've only failed to score once (0-0 draw in 2001). If we keep a clean sheet today I'll be stunned and pleasantly surprised. In reality, I think we need to score at least 2 goals, possibly 3 to win.
  4. I'd hate to see what happens when you do start making judgements.
  5. "That Dolan lad looks good, Goes to show what a great youth System Blackburn have" ????? Fair play to em, I do enjoy a bit of gallows humour.
  6. 93rd min and Big Ben is sprinting to close down the keeper. ?? I'll take a jug of custard with my humble pie thanks.
  7. I think the contract is even so many per month. So hardly any Championship games on red button this week, but a load on next week including us v Millwall on Wednesday.
  8. I'd targeted 4pts from Luton and this match for me to keep holding out hope for the playoffs. So, we need a win to stop that hope evaporating. Wish I felt more confident, but I simply don't. Hope the teamsheet boosts that confidence.
  9. Went in expecting to hear Mark Morrison. Left disappointed. Great to see him back on a football pitch tho.
  10. I must have been living in a cave. That's International break for you. Was news to me. ☺ To be honest if Kaminski is going to be out for a while I'd seriously contemplate it as an option.
  11. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/international/belgium-vs-england-team-news-lineups-b1722390.html%3famp Just read TM has tested positive for Covid. Really bad news. We just can't catch a break this season. We've looked much more assured with him in nets. Will miss at least 2 games, maybe 3. Are all the other Championship clubs having the same nightmare with injuries/covid isolation? I genuinely have no idea. Just feels a bit like we have a really competitive squad this season, but it's all counting for nought, as we can't get the squad on the training pitch, never mind match day. Edit- quote from article: "Belgium goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski, a late call-up, has withdrawn from the hosts’ squad after testing positive for Covid-19."
  12. I was thinking more he's now got Holtby and potentially Elliott to compete with that he didn't last time. Plus Brereton's rise from the ashes. Makes me think could he almost be a replacement for the Graham role. Or am I losing my marbles?! Impact from the bench when we need a goal. Put him up top in odd game when Armstrong is injured/suspended. I still see him as a No.10 personally, but is interesting to ponder where his position might fall in the team over the next 6 months or so.
  13. Looks like the messageboard only seems to go back to 2018 as far as I can see. Maybe it's been archived to free up space on a server or something. Either way, right now, no one can prove anyone right or wrong. Out of interest Sparks what's your opinion on Dack now? Some pretty disparaging comments there from last year. Obviously, we don't know how he will bounce back from serious injury. But if he comes back to fitness exactly same as before, where do u place him in the current hierarchy? Best player? Definate name on teamsheet? Squad player?
  14. That was certainly the reputation he had back then. I was sat next to Spurs fans at 2002 cup final and they spent the whole game slagging him, saying exactly that. "Cole is ****! He needs 4 or 5 efforts to score. No way we get beat by a team with him leading the line." The smug grin on my face when he scored the winner. ? I muttered something like " Was that effort 4 or 5?!" Fair play to them, they said congratulations, you were better team and deserved the win at final whistle before they left.
  15. It's one thing being biased, it's another thing coming across like it's the 1st game of football you've ever watched. For example, when teams time waste I don't really get mad at the player, it's to be expected right, i get mad at the ref for not getting on top of it. One of them said something like: "I can't believe Blackburn have it slowed it down to a snail's pace." I'm thinking can't you?! Because I've seen it about a thousand times before so not much of a surprise is it.
  16. One of them sarcastically went: "Looks like the keeper is 'thinking' about taking the goal kick." Got a full on chuckle from me that. Did you hear them heap praise on Rothwell? Said he was tidy, busy player with bags of talent and we'd be a much better team with him back.
  17. The cog for settings in top right corner has options for home or away. Thought I'd give away a try today, they did not disappoint. Obviously, probably would have been a different experience if we'd lost. To be fair to them, they did give credit for both our break away goals, and said how good the passes were to cut them open.
  18. Highlight of the match for me was listening to the QPR commentators from the 85th min onwards. The bitching, whining, and crying that was blasting out my tablet was a joy to behold. Nyambe's injury, the substitution, Kaminski's goal kick and free kick - all met with howls of derision. It was like they'd never seen this new, groundbreaking tactic before. Astounded that the team in the lead didn't have it's players rushing all over the pitch. At one point they even claimed we knocked it into touch because we knew disinfection would slow the game down. "They're taking advantage of Covid procedures there." ?? They also called Johnson a fat git in the 1st half. "He's not exactly come with his beach body has he!" "Looks like he's had a few pies recently to me." Not the most professional pair. Added entertainment to my afternoon though.
  19. Brother of Joe Willock that is doing well for Arsenal recently.
  20. His reaction makes me chuckle. He's like WTF! ? Full disclosure though, the Saints player had put his finger through the face grill and poked Wims in the eye the play before. Hence the reaction.
  21. Hey Greg, how you doing? Hope you've recovered ok from all the medical issues you were having. Always good when another poster gets more involved. You should get stuck into the main boards. New opinions always welcome. Don't worry if you have to "chip in and then disappear". I do it all the time.??
  22. Things got a bit feisty in the NFL at the weekend. Saw a tweet- Things that got hurt by this: 1. Javon Wims hand 2. Javon Wims bank balance 3. Javon Wims professional reputation 4. Javon Wims team's chance of winning the game Things that were not hurt by this: The other player!
  23. That tirade was building up such a head of steam.......and then this sentence happened.
