  1. ? I'll take any In at this point. I reek of desparation.
  2. ETA? Is my night going to be ruined....or my day? ?
  3. Yeah, I think it hurts us all more because we are so desperate for some fresh blood at the back. We're basically the guy dying of thirst crawling across the Sahara desert, and people keep holding cups of water in front of us.......... and then pouring them into the sand. It sucks! But this guy has, I assume, been out of his native country since he was 17, trying to forge a career. (Leicester City youth set up). That's pretty committed stuff. And you do that to try and get to the top. So, if you finally have the chance to play in the top league in the World, you grab it with both hands. Nothing we can do to stop this kind of stuff......other than get back into that top league again ourselves.
  4. This. I usually get all sorts of hurt and disappointment when we lose out on an exciting transfer option. This one is more of a shrug shoulders and move on.
  5. Yeah, well, he doesn't help himself with crap like that when there has been glaringly obvious holes in the team that need plugged for years now. Yes, of course don't waste money on inferior players, desperate buys just for the sake of it. That would wash for 1 window, maybe 2. We're getting to 4 and 5 now. If the money is there, then spend it on a stunningly woeful defence....with zero strength in depth. Where might we be if that had been done.
  6. Well I truly hope you're right. Cos by the time we get to Xmas/New Year without full fans back, I can't see anyway the authorities can start dishing out sanctions to already crippled clubs. And if we could spend about 10 million this squad could genuinely compete for top 6. Might as well be 210 million in debt, if you're gonna be 200 million anyway, when the possible prize for success is so high.
  7. So, if FFP bit the dust, even if only temporarily - which it must do imo under the current climate otherwise they'll be docking points from half the teams in a league- you would be confident of them opening up the coffers in a substantial way?
  8. From top to bottom in terms of competitiveness, I'd argue it's one of the best in the World......across any code. Can't think of anything close, although I know little of some of US sports like NBA, baseball, ice hockey etc. Super Rugby is a tight league where anyone can beat anyone on their day. But it's been won by the same team 3 years on the trot now. So fails that test.
  9. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8593521/CHRIS-SUTTON-David-Rayas-howler-160million-blow-Brentfords-Premier-League-dream.html?ico=amp-comments-viewall#article-8593521 Sutton is not holding back. Laying the blame at Raya's door.
  10. Aghhhh, gutted for him. 2nd professional start and that happens. Unlucky that.
  11. Same timing i'm guessing. Hence it goes public. But one of the posters more involved with the sport may put me right.
  12. I don't wanna be Mr Statto, but on the whole every teamsheet is up exactly 60 mins before kickoff..... for every club......Worldwide. The twitter pages will have it listed almost to the min. How do I know this? A massive gambling habit. ? There's nowt like waiting to see if the star striker is going to playing.......... for a Paraguay Primera Division relegation battle. ??
  13. Radio just saying 10 of the 12 fixtures tonight have something riding on it. Can't see that's happened often. Usually the dead rubbers starts 2 or 3 games before the season end. Whilst I wish we still had a chance of playoffs, gotta say I'm happy we have nothing to stress about. Going to crack a beer, sit back, relax, and enjoy watching our final match. Was checking Wigan's stats. They've got their work cut out tonight. They've played Fulham 18 times dating back to 2007 and won........once!
  14. Indeed. Just to add to the misery of some of your stats...... 2 wins in 11 matches, conceded first goal in the last 8 games straight........and how many goals have our 12 million strikeforce duo scored in the last 11 matches?! Once, one solitary goal from Gallagher against Swansea. So...our defence is failing.... our attack doesn't score goals....and we don't win football matches. But apart from that, we're smashing it. And people are wondering why many of us are questioning the manager. I'd be surprised if any club with those performances didn't have their manager under the spotlight.
  15. Snap! I'm thinking we haven't distributed our funds wisely. The Rovers way i suppose.
  16. Shocking stat. No team is getting anywhere near promotion with fragility like that. It's almost as if we really needed those defensive reinforcements that most have been screaming for the last 2 transfer windows. What do us fans know though?!
  17. Wigan's form on the pitch is immense. 9 matches. 7 wins 1 draw 8 clean sheets. And still in serious danger of going down. World's gone mad.
  18. Worst bit is I don't even think it was, I reckon he was angry cos he fell over.....you know like a toddler does. Then just got up and lashed out in rage and frustration. To be fair, his blood pressure was probably already up from sitting on the bench watching Walton hoof it to Armstrong 26 times in a row. Sure boiled my piss.
  19. Would make sense, BB didn't seem to complain much. Just trudged off and took his shirt off. Seemed pretty accepting of his fate.
  20. Enough's enough. I don't wanna end up disliking the guy, but much more of this, and that's where it's heading.
  21. It's the most disappointing image I've witnessed in 80 min. There was some serious competition. Congrats Tony, you won something!
  22. I could stomach losing 2-0 if we'd really gone for it in the last half hour. We scare teams when we're on the front foot, and had nothing to lose in this match at this stage of the season. But no, we sat back and pissed about playing tippy tappy, until one of our clanger candidates could be given the opportunity to shine. With various options available to oblige,(Bennett, Rothwell, Johnson, Walton), it was great to see one of them eventually step up to the plate. ???????!!
  23. So was their keeper in the 1st half, but he made sure he held onto the ball. That's the difference.
  24. Just noticed the massive banner facing the camera at Cardiff is a tribute to Peter Wittingham. RIP. Somehow feels more tragic when it's a freak accident.
