The more progressed Nuttall...What an indictment!

God only knows how fans of Wimbledon must feel! Our tale may not be the worst, but it is bad enough. You only have to scroll back through this message board to see the distress and anxiety. Just to think that 10 years ago none of us had ever heard of Venky's, Pune or Steve Kean. Some of us would be vaguely aware of the Barnet spiv for his "activities" at Man City. Rovers fans do not have a sense of entitlement. We do understand the swings and roundabouts and the ordinary ups and downs of football, but no group of supporters should have to endure what happened here....but....coming to a club near you etc.

Good to see FC United fans supporting this project. A few were wondering why there has not been more fuss about how Rovers have been reduced. They had a collection for the play in their pre -match entertainment session before their home defeat to Nuneaton. Surely, TM must be able to see it. Or is there another agenda behind who gets to play? Echoes of my feelings after the game at the Valley last season. Certainly, it is very odd!

I am allowing myself to savour a good performance and a fine win, when I had begun to wonder where the next damned point was coming from! Is there something I don't know? After tonight I am even more mystified about the team selection last Saturday and on far too many other occasions.

I am resistant to getting rid of TM. I think he took a gamble, maybe keeping his powder dry for next year. Yes, I have concerns re his recruitment-also his team selection and tactics, but I would be troubled if he got the push! Like others, I would also have some trepidation about who might be paraded, as the most successful candidate! Conflicted or what!

Sorry. I feel nothing. Another distraction. In the current Rovers context, I couldn't care less about this, all the community awards or the F.A. lemon drizzle cake of the month. Venky's, managed decline and yet another red herring. Bread and circuses...FOV!

So why has this problem been routinely ignored? Apart from the obvious answer of Venky's, I just don't get it.

A similar thing happened in 1969-70. I think we were 2nd in the table, when we sold Keith Newton in December. Following that, we slumped to 11 league defeats, including some thrashings too.-Sound familiar? Bingo..guess what happened the following season!

Already, before the end of March, we have conceded only 3 goals less than the relegation season. I bet we beat that record too. Too many of those defenders are still here!

But the extremely negative feeling around recent performances isn't much of a sales platform....

The repeated pattern is what worries me. Twice previously, in 2011 and 2016, when the team had scraped survival, they recouped money and recruited cheap, leading to relegation the following season. The summer will say so much.

I remember reading an article in one of the national papers, when King had had a really good game for Norway against England. This was long before his FA cup exploits against Stoke. The journo was questioning how a player that good was unable to get into Bowyer's team. I think it was the beginning of Bowyer's last season. I noted it because (in my armchair wisdom) I had formed the opinion that he was a headless chicken. Was he just being played out of position to accommodate Rhodes?
