  1. Well said. I think it is perverse to define a will to be vigilant, as entitlement.
  2. Safe structure, properly run, decision making, as near to the action as possible....towards safe hands?
  3. Ah...Some time ago, a poster said that getting such a fee from Sunderland showed a touch of evil genius from TM...Now this1
  4. We , on the other hand, took no pleasure in it at all?
  5. Eight years is a helluva long time in football. ...lost generation stuff, really
  6. "If you can't bring good news, then don't bring any.."?
  7. Well BDS...... it's a long way from Clare to here!
  8. I am currently working with a playwright, who wishes to write a drama about the tribulations of a Rovers fan after 2010. More of this, hopefully, later in the summer. I am currently helping with the brochure and we need one final picture to go with the rest. I would like to borrow a picture of supporters/families with the trophy in 1995. It will be returned within a day or so. I am confident there will be no safeguarding issues, if it is a picture with children, as all the '95 children will be adults by now. The idea is for this picture to represent both the fact that Rovers were title winners and the idea of the club, as an important community asset. If you can help, please PM me and we can take it from there. Thanks...LV
  9. Winsford in Cheshire too...but we digress. You know the process for the LT getting articles from famous ex Rovers like Mr Ormskirk. Someone just phones said ex player. They have a bit of a chat..and that becomes an article.... on a no news day.
  10. It certainly seems so- in the last 20 years anyway. My nephews are from Ormskirk and...talk like dat, don't de doh...
  11. They're not supposed to. But I have no doubt that agents go back and forth with potential/concrete offers. Managers even meet desired players at other people's houses...e.g. Kenny speaking to Roy Keane at David O'Leary's house with clear message not to sign that new contract at Forest..( according to RK anyway)
  12. Brilliant. You are wasted on here!
  13. Only hope so...but based on previous Venky patterns...
  14. .As an example, It might imply that all the good news from India was fake news...thatTM has not been given what he requested....that he is having to make do...that he is having to use money that might have bought a younger, better quality winger to strengthen another position...therefore ..new contract for Craig...
  15. Agreed.I don't buy it either. Going a bit further, I am troubled by the decision and what it could imply....
  16. If we have 0 out and out wingers, that doesn't justify offering a deal to someone, who is a busted flush (my opinion , of course)
  17. Agreed. We have no reason to trust them. Last season's "success" had the impact of reconciling many supporters-albeit temporarily-to our lowest league position in 38 years. Next few weeks etc
  18. That explains it..Uncle Tom-ato
  19. No comment on Collymore's personal life. I just don't know enough. As a pundit, for a very long time, he was the only-and I mean only-ex footballer to talk critically about the "mismanagement" of our club. He did so on a number of occasions. The same cannot be said of any of our own ex players. I know Sutton began to speak out, but only fairly recently. Stan came out against the premier league and the F.A. and allowed our fans to speak-without trying to close them down, as soon as they mentioned certain agents! Also, let's face it, he is not entirely wrong in his comments about the likes of Jenas... Stan's the man!
  20. Mr Cheston, getting back to your unanswered question about one of the most costly decisions in the last 30 years...please could you talk us through the process for the club recruiting Owen Coyle, while you were on holiday? Who made the decision? Who really employs that person? And finally, Mr Cheston,....... did you think we had forgotten??
  21. Well, it is a football message board!
  22. Well, to be fair, I was also worried about Graham at the start of last season-maybe before. At the start of last season, my -albeit unprofessional-judgement was that he was looking lethargic and overweight. In fact, we even had a joke about him being like Elvis at the end! I confess!
