  1. And if you are pants, all you can hope for on Boxing Day is for your opponents to turn up, "dicking about at the back" and without the guts to come back from a goal down-a goal that you don't even have to work for......just saying...
  2. Not forgetting John O'Mara, as some of my older readers will remember. Southern accent etc, signed from Brentford, but "born in Farnworth". Wracking my brains, but does anyone else remember who Alf Thornton was referring to in his ironic" born a bottle's throw from Ewood Park?
  3. Very worrying.. Death spiral underway?
  4. "I think 4-1 was flattering for Blackburn, if I am honest. Preston were so dominant against the team that had the best home record in the division and they smashed them. "I think fans should be concerned, worried is too strong but it's three defeats in four. They were turned over at Burnley and then turned over in the first game back.
  5. Absolutely. I have noticed that he is putting it on the players and I just don't buy it. It looks all wrong to me. Lots of awful, no show performances-mostly away from home- and several of our victories have been less than convincing. Wilder's comments only heighten my anxiety. I met an old mate, who is a non gloating Claret and the first thing he said to me was "Why do you keep dicking about at the back? You gave us two goals from doing that!" The start of the 2nd half on Saturday was an alarming indication of a perverse determination to remake the same mistakes...
  6. He has certainly earned himself a large amount of distrust.....
  7. I was only messing! I fully agree with this. Wealth earned by a Blackburn workforce and Jack wanted to give something back. Someone did say to me, though, if Jack hadn't bought Rovers, we would never have heard of Venky's! Funny old game...
  8. Signing Anel would have required too much detail.
  9. I remember a quote from Shebby Singh saying "They're trying to relegate us!" I think he was referring to Shagnew and Anderson. Back then, although it was Venky's name above the door, it almost felt there were two lots of owners and their representatives were in conflict.
  10. What contacts? Rudolf Nuryev?, Robert Helpman? Wayne Sleep? Moira Shearer ?( at least she'd have a ready made chant) to tippy tap sideways and backwards?
  11. Basically, on Sunday JDT set the team up...to "take it up he arse"...
  12. But I thought Venky's were.......oh, ....
  13. Well, it looks there is,..... if you are just a bitter, victim- centric local rival. I guess Jack Walker and Venky's represent the two extremes of what can happen to a club...and hey both happened to the same club within under 20 years.
  14. Haha.... I am sure you are well aware that Burnley went down in 2010, so we were unable to play the following season. But even a schoolboy knowledge of football history would tell you that it was our bizarre Indian regime that took us down in the first place and has reduced us ever since..... Somehow our recent results against Burnley coincide with our Indian hell. Whilst being abhorrent, Burnley's "Long Live the Venky's" chant tells the truth in song, as well as Dylan ever did.
  15. After three days of reflection, what the fuck was JDT thinking?! It truly was shocking...
  16. Yeah...The total denial weasel words are "project" and "this young team"....
  17. Correct. That performance was unacceptable. And how do some posters think other teams' fans would have reacted to such a limp, no show in their biggest derby? Everton, Leeds, Brum, Bristol City? I can only imagine. I think Rovers fans have been remarkably low key about their dissatisfaction. What worries me is that may be not so much a virtue, as a product of the soul destroying dumbing down that has been going on, since 2012. Third in the table, so it's ok? Rubbish. Getting beaten by your biggest rivals is never enjoyable, but we went onto the pitch waving a white flag and not only laid down, but actually started shooting ourselves..... to save the enemy's bullets! As for calling for JDT's head, where is Salome, when you need her? lol
  18. Well, I'm not. Whilst the current league position looks good, clearly, there are big problems with the way we are set up and our style of play. It doesn't work in so many away games and in too many home games we are "hanging on". Given this is The Dingles thread, I think it is only reasonable for people to be concerned that we did not show up yesterday. We couldn't raise a gallop in our biggest local derby...We were embarrassing.... shit!
  19. Luton, Reading, Coventry, Wigan, Sheffield Utd and Burnley away....what learning has taken place in yourself, coaching team and players?
  20. Yep. Actually, there has been more than a trace of that stuff in some home performances-second period, sitting back etc. It's just that the positive result is a happy distraction...
