What a divisive contribution! I asked you a few weeks ago in relation to a similar post directed at someone else: Why are you doing this? It seems clear to me that Mhead's areas of disagreement with SW are explicit and "on the table". The fact that he says he is maintaining a warm relationship and is still willing and able to question/ challenge is very welcome to me. Moreover, I have spoken to Mhead many times and I have found no reason to suspect that he has anything but the best interests of the club at heart. Again, here you are dissing/undermining someone, whose agenda is to get the club into safe hands. I always thought that was your own agenda as well. So I am wondering what is the pay off (to you) of undermining someone, who is using their time and initiative to try and help? I do hope it is not an issue where you believe that it is only you, who is blessed with the divine right to be trying to influence the shit show that has been BRFC for ten years and counting! -
For what it's worth, I was in the away end at Spurs for a League Cup tie about 1993 and there was the unmistakeable sound of the Rovers away support hissing in the direction of the Spurs fans in the section next door. Football and the lowest common denominator etc...A big part of me thinks attention and anti social "status" is the whole aim...and I worry about such behaviour getting any attention/oxygen whatsoever in the press/and from the likes of Jim White and Simon Jordan etc. It only reinforces it...

I quite agree with your point about Johnson false 9...or even being on the pitch, if I am honest. And, yes, we certainly seem to under perform on our own corner and free kick routines. The Rothwell thing is merely another contributory factor. That is my only point...

Fair points, well made etc. Just a worrying thought though...Keeping Rothwell was not the preference of the guy, who sees him in training and who is actually charged with picking the team etc. However, it does seem to have been the preference of those who live thousands of miles away. End result: a string of average to shit performances from player manager did not think worth keeping, especially in light of other available options... We only needed a few more miserable points out of so many games.... But, in all honesty, I can't say I know with certainty....

I know he failed his diving test... -
Who knows? However, it is not beyond the bounds of possibility for us to have got the extra six points out of all those games...

I think the point is that TM was requesting that the club accept the fee from Bournemouth and use it to support our promotion push. He had little faith in Rothwell and neither did I! At the time, I felt it seemed a reasonable request, although it would have been seen as a PR disaster and depicted as the reason that we failed, had we still done so.
