  1. I bet that had an impact on Lenihan's response to his own contract offer...
  2. OMG..the ides of March too! It is written.....
  3. Yep. I think next season we will see the problems we all feared for this season-unless we go up. My youngest is a super loyalist and bites back at anyone, who he sees as pessimistic etc. Last night, he was flat, downcast and "resigned" to the fact that the club had blown it with their neglectful January window-blown it for the supporters and these honest, young players... Other teams do seem to have the momentum at the moment, but if we can just accumulate enough points ...until April, when the cavalry comes.... Then again, the trouble is that our team seems to have the goody goody Kevin Costners, while the others have the dirty fighters like Jack Palance... Maybe we should have signed Volodymyr Palahniuk..Those Ukranians don't mess about....
  4. We had the same conversation yesterday. We wished we had some of that Speedie, street wise shithousery in our own front line. And you are right about the weak referee. Mitrovic is still a **** cheat though. Not sure if he plays the violin! If Dolan was booked, shouldn't Mitrovic have been sent off? He " simulated" twice...
  5. Yeah....And I missed our FA Cup game v Utd-Graham's excellent goal -and probably our best team goal in years away at Cardiff.......because of Coyle! Funny old game lol
  6. I think it is almost inevitable, that old grudges re-surface, when the January window and February slide are reminiscent of so many previous seasons. For me, TM did a brilliant job to get us to second in the table with this squad. No argument there, surely! As someone said earlier, we saw this Feb/March pattern in the 80's. One difference for me is that this was the first time in a decade that we have made any semblance of a challenge. At the same time, if we don't make it to the premier league, we will have such gaping holes to fill in the summer, losing at least £10 million worth of on-field assets for free. This makes our pathetic January transfer window so deflating.
  7. Hmmmm.........Ask Birmingham fans what they thought about his loan spell there-before he arrived here for the second time... Let's say they were not overly impressed!
  8. On Radio Lancs, after we signed Hedges, Nicko said he was a squad player.... Even a broken clock etc
  9. Unforgivable.... And you didn't need to be Nostradamus to see what was going to happen.
  10. I guess that was my point!...They are polar opposites...
  11. I think we know that already. January told us everything.
  12. Yeah, we said the same. And I even said Davies would score. My lads hate me. I hate my fcking self! Why this is Hell, nor am out of it....I
  13. Information "management"?
  14. Has anyone else seen the interview, where a rotund Benni McCarthy says that he was so disappointed, gutted, "killed" by the club's refusal to let him join Mourinho at Chelsea. In fact, he says his performances and career went downhill from that point. He says Rovers turned down £20 million from Chelsea! I'd never heard that before. He also says that his main motivation for playing so well in his first Rovers season was to prove he still had it to Mourinho, his old boss! He even says he began thinking it was some kind of racism and euro-centricity on the part of the club. They would not have stood in the way of a European player like they were doing for an African.... Very disappointing!
  15. Yeah, I was wondering about the new definition of weekend. It is what we all feared. And what makes it worse is that-unlike the old days of the 80's-this is the first time we have been in with a shout for 10 years and it doesn't look like the team and its manager has been backed by the owners. If not this January, when? Right now, it confirms my own fears that the club is going nowhere with these owners.... I take no joy in that comment either. Nothing would please me like being proven wrong!
  16. I just think our experience is leading us to over anticipate the oncoming death spiral.( eek) So far, at least, we can say we have lost to teams that are not our immediate rivals. We did beat Boro, although it wasn't a great performance. We need to beat Forest. Hopefully, BB will have recovered and others will be available again. Maybe, Forest will get to extra time this afternoon and our freshened up team will capitalise on tired legs..... I reality, I think an automatic spot will be difficult, given Bournemouth's January recruitment. Surely, we won't throw away 6th spot! Engrenages is a good serial, by the way...
  17. Re-arrange the following words into a sentence: in elephant the the room..
  18. If not George or T.S....maybe......a return for....
  19. Quite. And while we're at it. They are only where they are because they cheated FFP for their first promotion. Plucky little Bournemouth, my arse. Bankrolled by foreign money! What did they make from their time in the Prem? £80 plus million? And their fine for cheating was a token, paltry £4 million... FOB-(bitter enough for ya?)
  20. Neville Chamberlain, I presume?
  21. They come they go...to our main rivals?
