Based on percentages, I think. I am sure early Graham Taylor and Basset at Wimbledon had a similar approach ...I think it came from a statistical approach by Charles Hughes, whoever he was -
OMG..Goodison vertigo! I had that awful feeling of wanting to jump...and that was before John O'Mara took the ball on his chest, let it roll down his leg, hit his toe...and squirt away from him....

I guess that sums up my frustration with him. Clearly in his locker, but...... -

Proud to be a Rovers fan after that. Fantastic. Deserved more goals for such an imperious performance. I was a bit worried someone might get a serious injury, as they were so frustrated and humiliated....and that was a good few minutes before the assault on Elliott. Once again, if only we can build on it .... -
From memory yes and I thought it was one of seven.

Don't be so hard on yourself! Messageboards and irrelevance are like love marriage, horse, carriage etc...They go together...

Think of it as Limbo psychology. All very sad lol..... Every one of their neighbours and local rivals have tasted top-flight glory in recent years. There are PNE fans in their late 60's, who have never seen their team play a single game in the top flight. The likes of Carlisle, Notts County, Oxford, Bournemouth, Wigan, Barnsley, Bradford, Swindon have all been there since PNE. -

I remember it like yesterday. Jimmy Kerr's finest hour in a Rovers shirt! Nevertheless, a struggling team were 2 down to promotion-chasing Leicester. As soon as Rovers got the equaliser, the Darwen End just emptied. Wthin a few minutes, they were all around us in the Blackburn End. They had blue and white scarves, but we could distinguish them from our own skinheads and crombies because they were so out of breath! From memory, most of them had exited the ground and re-entered at our end. Pretty scary...but not as bad as Chelsea a few years later.... -
So why does this keep coming up? Because the "scab" has formed over a dirty wound. This was a very deep wound and the healing process has been hindered by dishonesty and successful attempts to silence full and open discussion. A look across messageboards and facebook will show anyone that it remains poisonous. There is still too much secrecy, half-truth/partial disclosure. Personally, I felt a bit sick when Nelsen and Samba trumpeted their partial revelations a "convenient" ten years after the events. And I wasn't impressed by Nick Harris' minimalist podcast either. Too much about Harris and too little about the machinations, which he claims he knows about. Members of the same "football" family were at each others' throats because some had a little knowledge and were closed down. Others had no knowledge, merely loyalty to their club. If you did not read BRFCS in 2011, where would you get the information?-The LT, Radio Lancs?...Don't make me laugh.....

Interesting. In the first weekend of the takeover, we were naturally anxious in our house. I actually consoled my kids that under the Walker Trusts's disinvestment policy, it was only a matter of time before we went down. The departures of Hughes, Friedel, Bentley and the appointment of Ince had been indicators. Sam had done a good job of keeping us up in the face of deteriorating quality on the field. That was before I knew about the huge TV deal that was around the corner. A takeover was vital. That said, the hateful, destructive raft of decisions made by the Roas and their allies seemed almost designed to deliver relegation and far sooner than the neglectful Walker Trust would have managed.

Before we all drown in our tears for the Raos, we must remember that even after their sincere prayers in the Wolverhampton temple helped us stay up by the skin of our teeth, they actually left Kean in post-think on that for a while- and then, allowed the team to be significantly weakened the following(relegation) season. And that's before any mention of Salgado's contract, Emerton's sudden departure, Paul Agnew etc... I always kept this back. No substitute for a Saturday game, but have a listen...Sorry..luddite barrier sorted now Devil_Desai_mix3_(5).mp3

A great win and richly deserved. I was so relieved to see Kaminski, Armstrong and Johnson back. Well done TM and the team! Is that the 4th/5th different centre- half pairing in just a few games? I am not watching the league table, so much as the distance we are from the playoffs. Really hoping the absence jinx does not continue and we can get some selection consistency after the break..( famous last words) I have totally given up on Evans and Gallagher and we have the players-if they remain fit- to ensure these two have delighted us for long enough! Our squad is better than it has been for years. The last time we had a really good squad, it was wasted by Bowyer's inexperience... -
