  1. I was in that same throng on the pitch at Burslem after he scored too. And I will always remember the large Rovers following, chanting, "Nice One, Stuart" for one of our very own. So sad. One of my favourite players of all time. Thanks for the happy memories. God Bless.
  2. Hoping it won't fall into the same category, as that tasteless V's chicken advert!
  3. I give you....Nicky Marker!!!!!
  4. Exactly! Got to admit that after watching him-great saves plus disastrous errors- I was definitely in favour finding an improvement. I assumed that would mean selling him and finding a better replacement. It's just that he has improved, since his departure and we haven't found a decent replacement... On both counts, you really have to wonder why.
  5. e.g. Dalglish meeting Roy Keane at David O'Leary's house, when the psycho was still a Forest player!
  6. Funny old game! I remember rejoicing, watching United and Phil Jones at Sunderland, after the final whistle, getting the news that they had lost the league right at the death. Then, I realised that the result meant Rovers losing out on a further £1 million, as part of our original sale! Didn't quite stop my joy, though!
  7. Say hello to Wanganui Rovers for me!
  8. Well, I know what The Donald would call it....
  9. Partly because he was still hoping Utd would come in for him at the 11th hour. I read that in an interview in an Irish paper
  10. I think you are right about Stoke. However, I don't think Evans has delivered consistently in all the years he has been here. Before his injury against Preston, I was actively hoping Stoke would take him off our hands...for a fee.
  11. But now "Blackburn is home" ...(puke)
  12. TM was right way back in August..."Fck Off, Derrick!"
  13. Brilliant! Laughed out loud at that.
  14. Fcking hopeless! Very worried for next season....I wish we had a longer break...
  15. The fee was a bit medium, all right. The bit about replacing him seemed sound enough to me at the time.He had made a number of serious errors. However, I get the sense that the original choice of replacement fell through at the 11th hour. It certainly looks a bad outcome now.
  16. Many fans thought it was a sound decision by TM at the time. Reasonably enough, in my view, they assumed the replacement would be better and make fewer howlers.
  17. Because of Venky's -absolutely! I have spent some time being irritated by /trying to get my head around this determination to re-define the architects of our decline, as our actual saviours. I really am beginning to think that it is a similar kind of psychological defence mechanism to the one, where victims deny and reframe the reality of their own abuse etc I just stop short giving our own fans any blame for what has been done to our club.
  18. There is an old adage:.stand still and you go backwards... I was wondering what would have happened in terms of dissent, if fans had been present at Wigan and Barnsley. I really don't know if the disillusion on line is felt by others outside my own family etc. I think Waggott/Mowbray et al have had a very easy ride. It is hard to credit that one such as Bill Fox got booed. Little did we know!
  19. Great question! Are you Brian Walden in disguise?
