  1. I heard of a schoolboy, who wrote an essay on Hitler and wrote about his weird moustache, his deliberate attempts to look like Chaplin and his dreams of becoming an artist in Vienna. No mention of the Holocaust though!
  2. Good point that. The "fresh start" syndrome is a well-known mistake made by those, working to protect children from abuse/neglect etc. What it does is allow workers to choose to avoid analysis of patterns of behaviour, and thus reduces focus on actual risk. I also think it partly relates to discomfort about what harm people are actually capable of doing. And I think that speaks to the Stockholm syndrome at work with many Rovers fans."They were badly advised" They have learned their lesson." ( heard as early as 2011 by the way!)...which allows amnesia of behaviour during Lambert's tenure and the sudden appearance of Owen Coyle...5 years after the "badly advised" appointment of Steve Kean! FOV by the way!
  3. I see the "remoaner" thing might be a joke. I guess the trouble with the term is that it is convenient slang used by the likes of Johnson and Farage to dismiss genuine concerns about a no deal Brexit. Clearly, neither no deal nor Ireland ever came up in the pre referendum er "debate"/lies ( choose your own term) Actually, your term may be more apt than you intended. After all, It is not dissimilar to the language used by those, who dismissed genuine concerns about the ransacking of our club. Like the country, our fanbase has been bitterly split between "Venky lovers" and "fair weather fans" ( to choose two from many alternatives). My take is that Steve Kean is pretty much universally hated by Rovers fans. Only 73%? You have to be having a laugh!
  4. I guess if you drag your feet about solving problems, they remain unsorted, as others will emerge..especially if the whole approach is part scattergun and part recruiting for "investment", as opposed to the here and now requirements of the team on the field. Going nowhere fast!
  5. Oh, fair enough. I agree with that one. Venky's can take no credit for getting rid of him...which is very scary.
  6. I have now formed the opinion that this is a fallacy-like the one that says Kean would have gone, if we had lost at Old Trafford. Venky's had given him an extended contract (I think) and they never even sacked him, even after we had gone down. Bloody Hell, he had to resign and claim constructive dismissal! They were never going to sack him. We, as fans should not take (or give to other fans) the responsibility for Kean staying on.
  7. "Masters, I know you are humble people, who want to spend even more.lol. Is your point that on the refusal, he should have walked?
  8. "We have got defenders, who won't head a ball/ defenders are coming" etc" seems a pretty clear diagnosis and treatment plan by Doctor Mowbray. So what do you think happened in the summer?
  9. Bizarre and infuriating. He clearly wasn't supported in team objectives, while BB seems to have been foisted on him as an...investment(!), at the expense of solving glaring, long standing problems.
  10. My feelings exactly. There are many, who have felt at various moments that "other" fans didn't /wouldn't /couldn't be arsed to support protests. The most recent one I remember was the joint one at the Blackpool FA Cup game, when Rovers fans were outnumbered by 'pool fans. In the early Kean days, if you were not on social media/sites like BRFCS etc, the enormity just wasn't apparent from the old reliables like the LT. I think we also have to say early protesters were not successful at spreading their message across the fanbase. That was at least part of the equation. After all these years, we may forget. However, it is a quantum leap from normal, lifelong, passionate club loyalty to a psychological, emotional, rational position, where you are crystal clear that those running your club are wanting to do it harm. Note to self: any form of divide and rule-condescension, dismissal, keyboard hostility between supporters-is ultimately bad for our future.
  11. Big and ugly enough from memory. Anyone know if he is still fit enough etc?
  12. I am not defending it. Blackburn Rovers is not run like it used to be....
  13. I understand the German keeper thing was weeks before Raya's departure...
  14. So we can vent our spleens every week for that team selection at Birmingham..Never forget lol
  15. Not sure about this. After the previous consultation meeting, (the defenders are coming one), I heard that Waggott himself was referring to a German keeper, who was on his way-actually imminent etc. My guess is that it was blocked from India, despite receiving £3,million for Reya
  16. "Mendacity is a system we live in. Liquor is one way out an' death's the other."
  17. Oh, Arbitro, Arbitro, how could you? You forgot three crucial things. They were badly advised. They've learned their lesson. Without them, we'd be doomed like Bury/Bolton...
  18. Be reasonable, mate. I know they did drive a bulldozer through our luxury home, but, at least, they have painted the garden shed!
  19. Nail on the head. When stats like these don't lead to a win, it should be a one off-just one of those days etc. But with Rovers , I think it is becoming a pattern. A pattern of shipping cheap goals and failing to score generally ends in one way!
  20. I have a dream - a post Venky's dream. We will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old negro spritual: "Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!"
