  2. I'd say it's more that as recently as a month ago (the Bristol City home win made it 7 wins in 11) there couldn't have been any argument that he was getting excellent results and therefore the most out of an underfunded, injury hit squad with enormous question marks about key positions at both ends of the pitch. Given the amount of games we've had since and how bad we've been in almost all of them, yeah, things can change quickly and he needs to fix it - but results across the whole of his tenure were very good until a month ago, nothing to do with his media skills.
  3. Bizarre that - it was a nightmare of a day and a dreadful performance but if we’d have won we’d have been top halfway through the season. That’s how good results had been.
  4. Adam Wharton does at least a few things every match which show he's destined for bigger things. Against Watford he was several levels above every other player on the pitch. Class act. Even if Moran's best position is number 10 rather than out wide, you'd still expect to see more from him if he does have such ability. This 100%.
  5. "Hopefully a really big club in the 5th round". You've just been in non league for 15 years. Aye. If the previous incumbent was still here you'd be advised to stick your money on Wrexham - that's if we'd have somehow got past Cambridge.
  6. Yeah, there were some bizarre posts on here during the first half yesterday. Really surprised by it all after just one very poor month. Well done to Rovers (Sam Smodz in particular, goals aside he put in one hell of a shift) yesterday.
  7. Agree. This season has a strong whiff of 2015/16 about it - probably a lower midtable finish, but clear the direction you're going in after finishing just outside the play offs/comfortable top half the previous two seasons (13/14 and 14/15, then 21/22 and last season now). Cost cutting clear for all to see too. All it'll take is the squad to continue to get weaker and a total dolloper who'll work under any conditions to replace JDT then we'll be on for a repeat of 16/17 next season.
  8. Why does he need games? He's an experienced 26 year old midfielder who's been a constant in our team up until recently. If he's not being picked at the moment, fine, that can happen across a long season and did around this time last year, but we should be looking after ourselves and keep him around. He'd probably have been back in the team soon. Of course that's what a normal club would do. Likelihood here is we're absolutely on our arse and can save a few grand a week.
  9. Travis is going to Ipswich on loan according to Jackson. What a mess.
  10. Numerous threads on protests already and the 'Black Cats Bar' thread is already on 40 pages. Essential reading!
  11. Now and after Rotherham away just less than 12 months ago - 0-4 hammering, and we’d been playing poorly and hardly creating much for a couple of months prior. The Burnley and Preston results were still fresh in everyone’s minds too and I bet the match thread after Rotherham, despite still being in a good league position, read pretty similar to the Huddersfield one. However just a few weeks later we were outplaying a Premier League team on their own patch, deservedly beating a side that went on to automatic promotion, and stringing consecutive wins together, playing a lot better in the process. So all hope is not lost but I agree with your plan for Hull, a 1-0 smash and grab à la Watford away would be just what the doctor ordered. We’ve got to be much harder to both play and score against.
  12. Playing terrible overall but Wahlstedt honest to god......
  13. You think there's a chance you'll get zero points in the next 20 games? Come on Longers....
  14. It wasn't our best performance of the season but, in between two tough games, I was just desperate for us to get any kind of win last night regardless of performance (I was a big fan of Big Sam, as you can imagine - when attendances were very high, it's worth noting). We've unfortunately been in this league for over a decade now and the football JDT has us playing is the easiest on the eye. In fact the 15/20 mins or so at the start of the second half against Birmingham was the best football - one touch passing, quick movement etc - we've played for a long time. But a Championship squad isn't going to play well every game.
  15. This stretched, underfunded, strikerless, nothing-on-the-bench squad has won 7 out of its last 11 Championship games. Hats off JDT.
  16. Yeah, amazed at the clamour for Telalovic you see at times on here and social media. Can only think those people weren't at the Cardiff cup game when the game, despite being a really good attacking performance from us, passed him by and went on around him. And even if JDT, on the off chance, does think there's something there then it'll take a long time working with him to get him up to speed with his demands and what he wants, having come from such a low level.
  17. Was probably always going to happen whenever they hit a bad run - they were strongly linked with Farioli, now at Nice, back in the summer. But I think there was a bit of a fan backlash about Mowbray potentially leaving. The owners must be pretty ambitious though, clear in the type of coach they want and fans should be encouraged they identified Farioli (2nd with Nice, only lost once and conceded five goals all season).
  18. I don't think Morton's done anything for us this season to be fair. (Though I do agree that, in this league, you can never say we should be this or that next season - doesn't work like that)
  19. The moment Lukas Jutkiewicz takes the first steps of his touchline warm up this Wednesday night....
  20. Was it clear? Mudryk clearly gets to the ball first - albeit with the sole intention to start falling and win a penalty - and it's beyond risky from Cristante but where's the actual 'contact'? A few rolls and pretending to be injured too....even if there was contact, it obviously didn't hurt. Up you get lad.
  21. This is the season for them to have it; they've improved a lot lately and were well on their way to climbing into mid-table. They'll still comfortably stay up. Hilarious that it's only November and a team that has struggled for a good chunk of the season so far has just received a 10 point deduction and they're still above that lot.
