  1. Agree. Definitely felt Friedel and Duff were the best in the world in their position at that time.
  2. Not goals - but related to the clip of Bentley above. He was at Spurs and "just wanted to go back to Blackburn" Only just over 200 career appearances and played his last game at 28 - retiring aged 29 after 'falling out of love' with football. He should be the poster boy of players who thought the grass was greener on the other side after leaving Rovers. Ash Phillips take note. Absolutely superb player in his peak with us. Some of the goals in that compilation are absolutely outstanding.
  3. We are superb in the first 30 minutes of the second half - and woeful in the last 15. You wonder if we burn ourselves out.
  4. I thought the exact same. Must be our un-trained eyes.
  5. To be fair, it's a Tuesday night less than 3 weeks before Christmas. And watching Burnley.
  6. I always thought he was trying to get a pay off here for years and we just weren't entertaining it.
  7. Was he one Mowbray wanted? Word from inside the club is that Waggott couldn't believe we didn't see a massive upturn in season ticket sales following his signing.
  8. Seems Dack isn't overly popular....
  9. When people were discussing Rovers lack of a striker at the start of the season.... If you'd have told me that 3 weeks before Christmas that Szmodics would have as many goals as Haaland - I'd have laughed in your face.
  10. Chris Sutton's predictions for weekend.
  11. Agree with all that. Whilst probably an easy pass to make - the weight of it was absolutely spot on.
  12. Isn't he the one that we were linked with as a potential Adam Wharton replacement?
  13. That's not what I thought it was
  14. From the years I've been watching Rovers, I reckon this team would be pretty hard: Kelly Salgado, Samba, Todd, Hendry, Givet J.Jones, Flitcroft, Hughes Shearer, Bellamy Probably not the most creative, but you wouldn't need many chances with that front two.
  15. Midfield trio of Keane, Zidane and Super Atko.
  16. Presumably because there is a difference between playing against 16 and 17 year old scholars and grown men. PNE only had one professional playing.
  17. Absolutely. The spell at Rovers and a few England U19 caps are definitely out of keeping with the rest of his career.
  18. Just been having a look at his record over the past 5 seasons. Completed 90 minutes: 19/20 - 9 20/21 - 12 21/22 - 6 22/23 - 4 23/24 - 0
  19. Regarding Salgado: Steve McManaman attested to his aggressive style by describing him as "the hardest person in the world....a genuine psychopath, even in training."[
  20. Give over! Absolute wind up merchant - definitely not one I'd class as hard. I like this story about the time Dean Windass was going to punch him and he claimed a random couple were his mum and dad.... https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/savage-parents-dean-windass-punch-30362786
  21. His contract is up with his Russian club at the end of this season, so assume he will be free
  22. Everton receive immediate 10 point deduction 😮
  23. Same here. Show me a photo of a Premier League player from the mid-90s and I'd be able to name 99% of them. I bet I'd struggle to name 30% now. Thought that might be the difference between me being 10 and almost 40.
