  1. I remember Richard Wilson, the other guest on that show, being aghast at Manning's behaviour. In truth I think by that stage Bernard was a rather pathetic figure, a bit like the clown left behind after the parade had gone by.
  2. I would guess that a few of them were in the third division an' all?
  3. Ha ha so did we!
  4. Surely 1979/80 must include The Jam and a bit of Two Tone as well Ian? 😉😎
  5. The Small Faces - Grow Your Own (Paul Weller leant on this for his single 'Peacock Suit')
  6. I think this song is actually called Vincent. Windsor Davies and Don Estelle - Whispering Grass
  7. Never a penalty in a million years that. If that happens to a Hughes, Kendall, Saxton, Souness or Dalglish team they come out second half and kick the shit out of Swansea. Will these lads do that?
  8. Snap - Rhythm Is a Dancer
  9. James Taylor - Fire and Rain
  10. Even the most optimistic Rovers fan knows this is not possible under our current manager. Had a few good trips to Vicarage Road over the years as well. Good luck.
  11. I think you would probably need to already know or like this lot to be interested but I’ve just discovered a Prefab Sprout album that I didn’t even know existed from a few years back (2013), it’s called Crimson/Red. It sounds as good as anything they have ever done, which is high praise from me. Paddy McAloon is an amazing songwriter and this will be my walking music for the next few days I think 😊
  12. Bootsy Collins - I'd Rather Be With You
  13. Trevor Peacock, most famous for playing Jim Trott in Vicar of Dibley, has died aged 89. He was an unbelievably talented fella, wrote songs and musicals and worked with the very best, including the Beatles. RIP https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-56332163
  14. He spoke with a forked tongue every time he opened his slimy mouth.
  15. Edwyn Collins - Running Away With Myself
  16. Spot on den. Waggott's answers are evasive to say the least.
  17. I had only just started going to games regularly at that point and my dad made this point very strongly to me. I still found it exhilarating to be honest, and have fond memories of Furphy's tenure.
  18. Yeah we beat them at Ewood in the premier league 4-1 or 4-2 under the crook and I may be wrong but I think the Yak might have scored all four? We did also play them in the FA Cup fairly recently and won as well.
  19. Even K**n's team beat them if I remember correctly?
  20. The Questions - Tear Soup
  21. Paul Weller - Fly On The Wall (the moment I knew he was back - I realised that if he could release a B side as good as this what else must he have in his locker?)
  22. I would tend to agree with this, and I would also like to see Arma play alongside a big forward as I think he would really thrive in that scenario.
  23. I'm having a John Martyn day today. I once heard a John Martyn song being played live from a pub called Lauders Bar on Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow many years ago as I was making my way home from work. It was a very good version of it so I decided to pop in and listen while enjoying a pint. I was gobsmacked to discover it was THE John Martyn! He only had one leg and was massively overweight but still had the voice of an angel. Fast forward a few years and they held a tribute concert literally yards from that bar in the Royal Concert Hall, organised by Danny Thompson (his great friend) and headlined by Paul Weller and Eddi Reader. Marvellous stuff!
  24. The Three Degrees - When Will I See You Again?
