Saw them at KGH back in the late 70s. He was being a bit petulant that night because of a few beer mats getting thrown at him (I did think at the time “it could be worse Pete”) but nonetheless it was a great gig, and as ODB says, his was one of the voices of our youth along with Weller, Strummer, Lydon et al. RIP

Based on BB's albeit brief appearances so far I cannot believe that such a figure wouldn't include several appearance/goals/promotion clauses and is more likely to be an initial fee of around the £3m mark.
