  1. I saw loads of 'they are funding the club so hooray, let's forget about everything' messages on the comments under the photo on Facebook. Probably the people who also were most hostile to those who protested.
  2. Give him a trial before signing him, so we have more of an idea whether he is past it.
  3. Time for AJ to either fight the winner of the inevitable rematch or get in there first. I can understand why he was a bit dubious about fighting in the USA with their judges, but come on. Stop being greedy with 80/20 splits etc. and get it done. That's assuming that he wins his next fight against what's his name.
  4. Huth on the sort of deal Mike E suggests would be good. Jones would never come here unless we went up and he's hardly looking great as I type.
  5. I want him to succeed, but I find it curious he has not been given a chance to since he arrived.
  6. True, but that is one game. For £6m or so, I'd have thought he'd be used more often, as a striker. Danny Graham is in his 30's so he will get tired eventually.
  7. It's weird that Ben has never really got a run. I can't help but think he's not doing it in training, and Tony realises he blew it with the big fee. And what happened to that Davenport? He seems to be more elusive than Dickson Etuhu.
  8. I'd avoid Cashley. As Tom Stinney said, he may be another Danny Murphy, or worse, a Bradley Orr.
  9. He'll probably get us to a consistent 8th-12th place if he lasts until 2022, just like Bowyer early on, but I'm not sure about promotion. Still, better than the last few outstanding candidates we have had to endure since 2010.
  10. Whenever he loses out, he plays the race card. Not a Tory candidate for mayor-racism. Not been captain of England all his career-racism. He's a pathetic, arrogant fool who damages the message of those who actually do stand up to racism.
  11. Sorry I drifted off towards the end again. Having read a lot about the 1930's and the second world war things are scary. More so in this age when people use social media to wish Kanye West's kids get cancer etc. River Plate need a really strong punishment to try and stop this sort of thing.
  12. Mowbray has made the club feel normal again. Will he get us to the Premier League? Maybe, but not this season. Is he better than the last guy, or a few before him? Oh yes. Look at where the likes of Tranmere, Grimsby, Oldham, Blackpool and Swindon have been. All were in the Premier League, or nearly got there at one point, and one even became non league. A similar kind of tail spin and corrosion may have happened with our club if Coyle stayed on, or Venky's used their managerial tombola again.
  13. Several Boca players had bad cuts to their face. Maybe a few of the River Plate fans could get into UKIP as some sort of 'Falklands advisor'. They don't mind a bit of football factory nonsense in their ranks. To get back on topic, if I had the power, I'd just award the standard 3-0 win to Boca, band River Plate from continental competition for 5 years at least. This sort of thing is tolerated a lot more over there than here, as in Western Europe though that may change with the world's march towards Fascism.
  14. Yes. I don't want to join in the hysteria after every terrible result as there have not been that many. If/when we are 2 points away from relegation after no wins in 7 games then I'll be calling for Tony to go, saying our squad is all scum who must die and so on.
  15. Probably the first absolute hammering this season. Sounds like a shambles, but last time the club was in this division it happened almost every game. Hopefully it will shake out any complacency.
  16. My sister is a partner at Wright Hassall in Leamington. Usually makes me smile. And like you, I cannot believe how can incompetent tit like Ridsdale is still in football. He messed up Cardiff City as well didn't he?
  17. Come on, he is frustrating at times, though he is improving and can often shoot, and find the right pass. And stats can be used to say Big Sam was the greatest England manager ever. I admit that part of the reason he is criticised so much as he seems to be a bit of a nob like Neymar as much as his performances.
  18. Sterling is inconsistent. When he's at his peak he is deadly but he has games where he shoots like a 4 year old and does not have any end product.
  19. You'd get a death stare if Roy heard you say that. There does not seem to be any up and coming, inspirational manager linked to the Republic team. Kenny seems to have worked wonders for his Irish team (according to Wikipedia) but might he need a bit of time managing at a higher level first? All the other names are just more of the same as O'Neill.
  20. I can see why Keane got out of there if McCarthy is returning. Roy will be back to ITV looking like he's about to stab anyone in the studio. I did look at the odds, and Kenny was odds on initially, but the other names on the list were not inspiring. Big Sam was the best on offer.
  21. I stopped at FM 11. That was enough detail for me. All the pre match media stuff had to be turned off, and I only wanted to talk to the papers to slag off Steve Kean, who I made Burnley manager with the ability of 1 in everything. Is that remake of Final Fantasy 7 out yet? If so, is it any good?
  22. It's been a bit like the rugby team in 1998 that got thrashed 76-0 by Australia. Players like De Glanville, Carling, Grayson, Leonard and so on were moved on and a very young and inexperienced team went to Oz. That team consisted of Wilkinson, Vickery, Grewcock, Rowntree, Lewsey and Dawson. They turned out OK in the end.
  23. It's good to see a senior, experienced player who has been at higher profile clubs happy to be here for the right reasons. It sounds like things are good and there are no nobheads like a Leon Best around.
  24. I think the point I was making was Chapman would be a waste of money as he is worse than Vince Grella for injuries.
  25. I think the players we have now are better as they actually play. Perhaps signing Palmer full time would be a better option, and/or Reed. Hope Chapman can stop getting injured and have a decent career, but he is too much of a risk to sign.
