  1. If I was an agent, I'd be offering any experienced dobbin who is out of a job and on my books for low wages. It would get them playing again, put them in the shop window and you can soon use crap wages or no wages as an excuse to jump ship. It would be like football manager when you sign out of contract 37 year olds who you remember used to play for West Ham 10 years ago.
  2. Are there any proper opening batsmen in the Cook mould? I hope Burns can be one who can stay in for a while.
  3. Facebook would be upset. He needs more time and support according to quite a few posts.
  4. It shows how biased the tosspot cup is when a semi finalist has to go through qualifying rounds, with a new squad, yet teams that have done sod all can breeze through to the group stages.
  5. Sounds like we are talking about Dominic Matteo playing left wing all over again.
  6. Dear god no, not Pulis. He had a run with Stoke, but the rest of his career has been pretty dire. I've been called a Burnley fan on Facebook by some guy who thinks the moon landings are fake and the Brexit Party are great. Make of that what you will.
  7. No thanks. He has failed too much in this division.
  8. Or Chris Hughton. His team's are usually solid. Either way, Mowbray is looking like Souness before he left. Get rid.
  9. Crap defence again. No idea why Cunningham is not on the bench at least. Cautious Tony strikes again.
  10. The debt might be some sort of tax dodge in India. "Oh I am sorry, we cannot pay the £300m income/corporate tax, we have this foreign asset that is £180m in debt and we have to pay millions to keep it going." As you can guess I'm not an expert in tax laws, but I can imagine there is some use in keeping Rovers despite the cost.
  11. If that's the general attitude, I hope Bolton do become extinct.
  12. All the while, the EFL will let the circus continue as they're too busy trying to shut down Bury.
  13. I saw that was in the pipeline but I didn't see it announced. Thanks for the info.
  14. There should be enough firepower to keep us up, but any improvement on last season is not going to happen with our appalling defence. Lots of 3-2 scores and so on.
  15. Not been able to keep up as I've been at work until 2am, but has there been no one coming in, but Mulgrew has gone to Wigan and Magloire is out on loan? If that's the case, this has been dire, and the defence is even weaker.
  16. I hope not. Never fulfilled his potential and was happy to shaft us before.
  17. I'm usually a pessimist. With regards to earlier cricket comments it has been the pattern for years that when England look like they are about to thump a team with the ball Broad starts thinking he can do a Mitch Johnson and hit tail ender's in the face regardless of conditions, line and length goes to pot and the last 3 wickets add 80+ runs. England rarely have that ruthless, brutal streak that wants to humiliate opponents. They lost their way and bowed down to Smith and whichever bowlers stuck around.
  18. As long as we don't lose an early wicket or poo ourselves at any hint of Lyon spinning the ball we should have enough to draw. A victory would surely be beyond England. Australia would have to bowl like complete idiots to have any chance of that happening.
  19. The England game is petering out. Smith seems to be invincible, and we're waiting for the declaration. I hope we can bat out for a draw and not get skittled tomorrow.
  20. It isn't one game. It is about having all summer to sort out the defensive problems, doing little or nothing and then playing teacher's pet players again.
  21. Seconded. Thanks for cleaning up after Coyle Tony, but it is clear you are not the right person to progress higher than about 14th in the table.
  22. Mowbray has assembled a half decent squad (even if the defence is iffy) but has no clue how to use them. Get rid, and bring in a decent manager. Wagner or even Warburton could do a better job. He has not learned anything after that awful run last season and is way too loyal to older players who've been here a while.
  23. And I wouldn't blame him. A very predictable line up barring Gallagher. At least Travis is starting I suppose.
  24. Does that mean he may be in for the second innings? Or is he ruled out because he went off? I seem to have cursed the innings by saying how I appreciated the gritty performance as 4 quick wickets went down.
