New Games/General Gaming
Armchair supporter supremo replied to Cocker's topic in I Can't Believe It's Not Football
Well I installed fm22 a couple of weeks ago and started a game as Newcastle, but since then just haven't had time to get into it... Going to have a good go this weekend though haha As an experiment im going to set the formation and tactics up to a bog standard old school 442 (with proper wingers, a solid back 4 and a big man-little man front line) probably going to be a disaster ha Newcastle start with a 200mill transfer kitty but there rep doesn't seem big enough to attract the best players about. p.s. stats for the rovers players are all pretty awful tbh, only dack looks capable of playing in the prem(but even then just as a backup player) -

Not really sold on Howe to be honest, but good luck to him though and only time will tell. The problem I see is he seems the type of manager that needs a long length of time to really put his stamp on a club to get them all on the same page as him, I just don't see him getting more than a year max to really get them moving forward, especially once he starts spending serious money! they'll want to see results pretty sharpish I expect -

It's really just flannel to satisfy for those sheepies that get 50% of their rovers information and news from the LT (and the other 49.5% from the official rovers site and social media accounts) -

don't need to read it, Tony changes his tune from one week to the next. win a game and it's 'we have the abilty to be up in the mix' lose a few and it's 'we're just not good enough and don't have the finances to compete with the teams in and around the top 6...' he's just a blow hard never-has-bin dinosaur of a manager. Mowbray out Waggot out -
tbh i remembered because for a little while one of them kinda stalked me about the school for a while with her mate haha(now that I'm an old minger I'm not to modest to day I was a bloody good looking kid in my teens ππ) she was very nice

yeh, but like you you say... different era completely, people had far far thicker skin back than, Standing terraces made a big difference too because unlike now you could shout something out without sticking out like a sore thumb in your seat, plus crowds where mostly full of half pished proper working class men still and part of going to games was for them to be able to let off some steam after a weeks hard graft! Pretty sure Wilcox for example used the grief he got as a youngster to motivate himself to become one of the very best left wingers in the league at the time, even getting a few england caps in the process, only the likes of Giggs where ahead of him as left wingers at that time but Giggs was world class -

It is incredibly sad to hear how far its progressed in such a short space of time, It was only a few years ago that I drove past him most days whilst he was on his jog down to the shops near brownhill π It's also very disappointing how quickly brfc was to dismiss any suggestion of a stand or something of that stature to be named after him. It seems pretty morbid if they're going to wait until he passes to do something like that. -

Rovers fans are are incredibly patient and forgiving!! (as is the nature of most true born and bred Blackburners) It usually takes a long string of very poor performances and that feeling of there being little to no light at the end of the tunnel for things to start getting tetchy in the stands. On the rare occasion things get nasty(ie. the Kean debacle) it's normally because the manager or a player has done or said something completely inappropriate towards the fans or club. #MowbrayOut #WaggotOut -

doing anything to the stands other than cleaning them and making sure they're safe are the only things that are worth spending money on with them right now when we cant even fill any of them. Communicating better with fans costs nothing and takes up very little time. -

he spent 3 years earning 10s of thousands a month for contributing very little. Yes that was largely down to the Our clown if a manager Mowbray not having a clur of what to dibwith him and molly codling him for years at the clubs expense, but still footballers rarely get sympathy from me unless its very bad injuries or serious personal issues that are effecting them. also i don't yhink he's half as good as gis currently being made out, not a fan of "confidence players" great players are like machines, they just go out and do tge business week after week regardless of how hey feel -

Anybody know what went on between Kean and the Melbourne fans!? " Australia, where he most recently served as caretaker manager at Melbourne Victory - and still found the time to irk their fanbase." -

he should be sacked now.end of story. sick to fk of Mowbray related what ifs. he's the david brent of footballer managers only with less personality and charisma. -
went to the Real Cinema in the town centre for the firstvtime the other week (watched dune and was pretty underwhelmed l...) really wasnt impressed with the auditoriums! the screen was much small than I'm used to at the pictures and the image quality was pretty poor(really soft focused) no wonder people prefer to justcwatch films at home when most of us now have tvs with far better picture quality then the averages cinema. Also the room wasn't remotely dark even once the film started, didnt help having an emergency exit a few feet to the left of the screen with all the lights. So a real disappointing experience, When i firstvheard they where openening an new independent cinema in Blackburn i was hoping for something along the lines of The cornerhouse/Home cinema in Manchester π but this is just a miniature vue really. cheap though, but that's about it. p. s. sorry i seem to have mistakely quoted gav there and can't now simply delete it. this site is pretty glichy i find.

nobody. they should put the modern bonds on the back burner for about 10 years cos they've become so irrelevant, forgettable and just clichΓ©d af, to busy trying to squeeze in lame references to past bond films. They're not even great action films anymore either, the Mission impossible films are far superior in that aspect. In the mean time they should go back and Make straight adaptions of the original novels as period pieces with quality filmakers at the helms. (Tarantino has been saying for years hed love to do a straight a few adaption of casino royal for example!) -
I've been using Intack for nearly 30 years, simply because its the only number I know by heart and their prices don't seem to have changed in all that time haha plus they're always dead laid back and friendly, like a natter and know the town like the backs of their hands.

The sad thing is, he was an excellent young coach by all accounts before he got into bed with the devils and got promoted waaaaaay beyond his abilities. good luck to him, as long as he never steps foot inside Ewood park again I wish him all the best π -

And If ypu really think I or anybody else wants to see the back of Mowbray and his cronies due to just one embarrassingly awful display and result then that really just shows how out of touch with things you are. that loss was just the final final final straw after he's already been given at least half a dozen chances to prove his worth and ambition over the last few years.
