  1. I don't see too many downsides for Derby. They survived relegation and would be strengthening on what they had whilst weakening another side in the same league.
  2. That is the saving grace. Conference League is entirely winnable for most premier league teams if they commit to it as Chelsea and West Ham have done previously. Palace the last two seasons as well have been really strong in the latter part of seasons, so you could imagine them going on a bit of run in a competition like the conference league. Who takes their place in the Europa League?
  3. Oh dear. Just when things were looking slightly better. Can't imagine Brittain staying now that official bids have been lodged, unless he's really settled at the club. Imagine if both he and Dolan end up at Derby. Pretty embarrassing stuff.
  4. All the best to JRC. At one point under JDT he was immense, if only he had been able to kick on and become a key player. If Charlton can get a tune out of him then they've got a decent player, but it was definitely time for him to move on from Rovers. Things had gone very stale for him at the club. Same with Buckley, he needs a fresh start elsewhere.
  5. The point on unproven players at Championship level is key for me and undeniable. I am hopeful that Rovers will still bring in a couple with more proven experience as they did with Batth and Weimann late last summer, but I am very fearful that we start the season with a bunch of Rudy randomers and some young premier loans that are too raw and lightweight for the rough and tumble of Championship football. Some of them might be like Ohashi and take to it very quickly, while others might be more Gueye and really struggle to settle, or not settle at all.
  6. Agree although Dennis was so ineffective in his loan spell that he may as well have not been at the club at all.
  7. Might have been a few of us, but I will happily take credit 😂 I believe Mercer was also correct on the call that two players would be announced before the Stanley friendly. I hope that also means Brittain's contract is sorted too.
  8. If the supposed 2nd player is from a Swiss club then it'll probably be from Yverdon Sport FC who were relegated last season 😂
  9. Can we perhaps sign a player from one of the other relegated sides in Belgium? You know, just for a bit of variety. 🙃 Alebiosu sounds on paper like an even less inspired signing than De Neve, who was at least a starter in that side. Any more players from Belgium this summer and it's going to become the new version of all the Portuguese players that signed in summer 2012. That being said, if JRC is indeed out the door then this feels like a straight replacement and backup to Brittain (hopefully). Maybe Rovers will use the rest of the supposed JRC money to finally laund Kapuadi, who is the only player we've been linked with that seems like he would actually, genuinely improve the team. It all seems a bit desperate, doesn't it? Granted we've not seen any of these new players kick a ball yet, but none of them make me think "yeah that'll improve the starting 11". It feels much more like squad fillers ahoy while Rudy spins his wheel of fortune / misery on who we bring in next. I suppose compared to last summer it's still early days on Rovers recruitment. Wasn't it the last week of pre-season when they signed a bunch of players over the course of a week? I remember Ohashi and Gueye played 45 mins each in a friendly the week before the first game of the season.
  10. I hope so. He's not good enough. Had one purple patch in the second half of JDTs first season, but other than that he's been pretty awful. I wish him well, but he's not good enough for the Championship right now, or possibly ever.
  11. Or maybe he just wants out because those running the club are an utter embarrassment. Either way, the way Rovers go about things Tronstad will end up walking for nothing next summer.
  12. Clearly I don't know what the budget is 😂, but I highly doubt well be spending 6.9 million on a single player anytime soon... and anyway, I was just trying to be a bit light-hearted given the grim nature of this thread.
  13. Norwich spending an initial 6.9m on a 23 year old striker from Brondby. Not that I want Rovers to spend big on players with no Championship experience, but just having a bit more flexibility when it comes to the transfer budget would be quite nice 😂.
  14. Like Kargbo, this fella seems like he'll be quite raw and probably not ready for first team Championship football straight away. Apparently players that have been relegated from the Belgium top division is our standard right now.
  15. That quote alone is the most Alan Nixon defining fluff that's ever existed. He's become a parody of himself.
  16. I must admit its easy to forget how late we signed players last summer...that one week were there was a new player every day was certainly interesting. I'm really hoping that the club pulls another Ohashi style signing or two out of the hat, but I won't hold my breath.
  17. The thing that makes it even more frustrating with Rovers is that they'll offer the player peanuts, player rejects and asks for more, club don't follow through, ok, we know the club are cheapskates....but then they never seem to try and cash in on the player either so that player ends up leaving for nothing. Rothwell, Brereton, Lenihan, Dolan....I'm sure I've missed one or two off the list. It's literally insane.
  18. It's alright, smart enough. Third shirt is an opportunity for a variation on the badge, so it's a shame they've not done that. Would've been nice if the two tones of green were a bit more contrasting so the halves stand out more...but that might just be the lighting in the photos.
  19. How do you know I haven't already DM'd her 😅
  20. My attempt at asking Dua Lipa out depends on her response
  21. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Derby are interested in Brittain. They won't be the only club though after he had a very good season. Having said that, this particular story is probably one of those easy ones to write as quite a few Rovers players will be linked to Derby simply because of who their head coach is, especially after Batth and Weimann went there.
  22. Agree. Don't see him ever making it in the Prem unless he can find himself a head coach that can knock some of his poor decision making on the head.
  23. 1000% this. There's no reason to boo Eustace anyway. The whole snake thing was pretty embarrassing given that he would still be Rovers manage if the club was being run sensibly....I think a lot of fans fell for the club trying to spin it so that Eustace was the villain.
