  1. Sanderson will definately be on a lower wage than Hyam, so agree there, but I do not believe that he would have a resale value of more than the £1M fee that is rumoured. If we were to sign him for half of that, I am still not sure if there is any profit to be made in the signing and resale of Sanderson. He is decent back up, but nothing more, technically limited and rash decision making, almost certain to be surpassed by Atcheson & Litherland within a year or 2 also. I would take him for less than £500K (assuming others leave), but for any more, I think Birmingham would have had our pants down
  2. I think it would need 2 of Hyam, Carter & Batth not to be here next season (which may happen) for it to make sense to sign Sanderson We have Wharton and apparently another new signing for the left footed centre back position (according to Gestede *), and Litherland & Atcheson waiting in the wings (again if we are to take Gestede at face value that academy players will be competing for squad positions*), so don't need an additional 4 centre backs (Hyam, Carter, Batth & Sanderson) * Yes I am aware of the fatal flaw in my reasoning Edit - When I say don't need an additional 4 centre backs, I am referencing Gestedes words
  3. well, whichever date Ismael said, can we have a countdown timer on site? And bingo cards for us to play once the timer has got down to zero, made up of excuses why 90% of our business has not been done by the stated date Would make a nice change of pace from us talking about cakes & biscuits for half the summer šŸ˜‰
  4. Herbie, is it possible for us to have a countdown timer added at the top of the site? Days, hours, minutes & seconds until 90% of our transfer business should be done First friendly in Spain is scheduled for 22nd July

  6. Indeed, will hopefully (and presumably) be defined in the job description t&cs But on the face of it, they all sound vaguely similar, so hopefully this is not a recipe for a power struggle
  7. What I want to know, is what is the hierarchy if you have a lead scout (Cairney) a senior scout (Sadowski) and a chief scout (if they ever manage to get around to replacing Park) šŸ˜‰
  8. "manager" & head coach" are different roles with different responsibilities, Yes, one has essentially replaced the other in recent years, but that doesn't mean that the jobs are identical
  9. Nailed on for Stoke (or a similar team with more money than sense and an equally terrible transfer policy)
  10. "Sunderland AFC is delighted to announce the appointment of RƩgis Le Bris as Head Coach."
  11. That goal for Orient was a mile offside
  12. As expected to be honest He has only been a bit part player for them in the past month. Hasn't even got off the bench in the past 2 games. Seems not to be trusted against the better sides in the division, and also not trusted if they are holding on to a lead, so would only expect to see him in the play offs if they are behind & need a late goal
  13. wonder how long he will be "happy"? Starting a New Position
  14. but but but significant investment! šŸ˜‰
  15. unfortunately you may be right there If that was to be the case, then the only "silver lining" I could think of is that following Luton's relegation, his wages would be about half the amount that they were this season Still a waste of a squad place and a wage though, so scant consolation indeed
  16. If we are to assume that Ohashi is Ismael's style, then Riis has nothing like that kind of work rate
  17. Good news is Woodrow is not out of contract at Luton, so I presume it is unlikely we will try and make his loan permanent
  18. He has been there all season, mainly as a sub option, having signed for them straight from his release from Rovers (from memory, it was a contract arranged ahead of time whilst technically still under contract at Rovers) Ayr lost the 2nd leg last night (losing the tie on aggregate) so are not going to be in the top tier next season, but he still has another year left on his contract with them so may possibly play a bigger part next season? Looks like he developed the useful knack of scoring off the bench late in the season. As you say, not the level we need, but good luck to him
  19. I was under the impression that they rated him but he had a shocker of a season, including only making one appearance in a half season loan in Ireland before being dropped It looks as though injury may have played a part in that, but he was also not favoured for minutes when he was at Preston either He did play a fair amount (by comparison) the season before. Without knowing too much about what happened, maybe it ws just a case of him having a similar break out season, and then regression/finding his level that Adam Henley had? (how is he only 30? It seems like a lifetime ago)
  20. On the bench this weekend Markanday - drew 2-2 - remained on the bench throughout - 2nd leg on Wednesday on Sky Sports + Saadi - lost 4-2 - came off the bench at half time with the score at 2-2 - finish 2nd in the relegation group (following league split) Not involved in matchday squad Vale - lost 3-0 - currently injured - next game on Wednesday
  21. has been released, as has Woodman personally I'm not huge fan of either of them
  22. Preston letting players know via instagram that they are being released Probably shouldn't laugh at them being a shambles too soon, or it will turn out Rovers will use blind carrier pigeons (or random news articles from Elliott Jackson) to attempt to let our guys know According to someone in their forum, so it may well be nonsense, Rovers interested in him,
  23. just wait for Vale, Markanday & O'Grady-Macken to each be signed up for a couple more years by the end of next week and Gestede to declare it a successful window and then send the scouting team on an extended period of gardening leave
