  1. Rumours of an attitude problem and crashing his car at high speed whilst off his face on nitrous oxide last Christmas. hence why he didn't play for Ipswich in the second half of last season - allegedly https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/man-utd-brandon-williams-claims-inhaled-laughing-gas-high-speed-car-crash/blt1c94cae5d3c3faa3
  2. A couple/few years ago, someone suggested Luke Shaw, which may be one of, if not, the most out there suggestion I have seen on here.
  3. Elliott - arrived deadline day Reed - arrived couple of day before deadline day Harwood Bellis - arrived deadline day Van Hecke - arrived a couple of days before deadline day Tosin was signed early, but that seems to be very much the exception for good premier league loans
  4. https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/aston-villa-looking-repeat-transfer-29774243 Iling-Junior could be a great pick up on loan for whoever gets him. Fast young, left footed wide player. I would assume that Villa would ideally want to send him to a higher level than the Championship, and the wages/loan fees would probably rule Rovers out, but if the aim is to get him as much game time as possible....
  5. I think the change in how Rovers set up defensively (Brittain playing as a wing back and Pickering staying back to essentially form the left centre back in a back 3) is purposefully being implemented so that your point that I have marked in bold is not an issue (or that is at least the hope/theory of Eustace). And is also likely the reason that a full back (which I think means competition/understudy to Pickering's hybrid LB/LCB position rather than a more attacking LB) has been mentioned as a potential signing rather than center backs.
  6. Atcheson taken off with a head injury with the game at 0-0. fingers crossed its just a precaution. This seemed to coincide with Marine forgetting how to defend, and they are now 3-0 down (still not half time)
  7. Tonight's Loanee games Starts for Garrett (Britsol Rovers) Gamble (Fylde) Atcheson & Montgomery (Marine) Honor (Clitheroe) Michalski (Bamber Bridge) Mullarkey-Matthews (Bamber Bridge) & Boggan (Macclesfield) not selected in squads. Markanday rested for Chesterfield with them concentrating on the league apparently.
  8. Southampton, Hull City, Anderlecht and Celtic have all been touted as potential suitors during this close season. Think that list of suitors would rule us out, but great young player
  9. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/blackburn-rovers-enter-race-copenhagen-theo-sander-hibernian/ Was first reported a month or so ago
  10. Wigan still managed to get "an initial £3.5M + add ons" from Hull for Hughes. so not sure quite how small any fee would be. Plymouth also apparently interested after selling Cooper to Sheff Utd https://the72.co.uk/2024/08/16/hull-city-fee-wigan-athletic-charlie-hughes/ HullLive journalist Baz Cooper has posted on X: “Yes, I’m told that’s correct (the fee). No doubt it will include add-ons etc, but the release clause was in the region of £3.5m. The delay has not been anything to do with the fee.”
  11. Any idea how long after the judgement it takes to populate? Instant or are we in for a weeks long wait? lol
  12. James has played for the U21s a few times in pre season, and started v Everton U21 in PL2 on Friday https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/live/c1k3m0kev7jt#Line-ups
  13. If we have missed it, do we have any idea when (and where) transcripts are available? (assuming there isn't a rewind option on the video link)
  14. Eastham played? I thought it was an U18 game What team did Rovers put out?
  15. U18s are 3-1 up at half time. No updates on Rovers academy twitter. Rangers to have one, but they have no idea who the Rovers players are by the looks of things
  16. Gheorghe Hagis kid playing for Rangers,
  17. U18s are playing Rangers at 1pm, friendly game, so updates will probably be limited at best
  18. https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2024/august/19/loan-rovers--marvellous-markanday-s-dream-debut-/ Next up for our loanees: Connor O’Riordan: Cambridge United v Blackpool - Saturday 24th August Jake Garrett: Bristol Rovers v Tottenham Hotspur Under-21s (Bristol Street Motors Trophy) - Tuesday 20th August Dilan Markanday: Chesterfield v Manchester City Under-21s (Bristol Street Motors Trophy) - Tuesday 20th August Harrison Wood: Annan Athletic v Alloa Athletic - Saturday 24th August Felix Goddard: Dundalk v St Pat’s - Friday 23rd August Pat Gamble: Oldham Athletic v Fylde - Tuesday 20th August Nick Michalski and Lorenze Mullarkey-Matthews: Ashton United v Bamber Bridge - Tuesday 20th August Tom Atcheson and Kristi Montgomery: Marine v Farsley Celtic - Tuesday 20th August Joe Boggan: Ilkeston Town v Macclesfield - Tuesday 20th August Sol Honor: Sheffield v Clitheroe (Emirates FA Cup replay) Tuesday 20th August
  19. Still only 32, currently a free agent. If the injuries haven't completely got rid of his pace, could probably still do a job as a late sub at this level. Looks like he was used as an option from the bench for Fenerbahce last season
  20. Apparently Matt Gardiner is a specialist in set pieces, so we already have one https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2024/february/10/in-profile--matt-gardiner/
  21. Whilst I agree with him that Siggy and Gueye do not take up an ESC Slot (and Ohashi does). I am not sure that what he states about Mafoumbi not needing to take an ESC slot due to his being U21 is correct. I am almost certain that Sunderland had to use an ESC slot on Mayenda last season and he was 19 at the time Edit - Apparently not Mayenda, but U21 players do take up a slot as per below. So Rovers have 2. Mafoumbi & Ohashi https://analyticsfc.co.uk/blog/2023/06/21/introducing-esc-the-new-gbe-guidance-opens-up-recruitment-post-brexit/ "Sunderland have been mentioned for their penchant for niche cases in their recent recruitment. They were one of the few clubs to have used the different process for Under 21 players successfully, bringing the likes of Jewison Bennette and, recently, Nectarios Triantis to the North East. The ESC slots give them the opportunity to work their network and model to an even greater degree, as was the case in the Semedo deal."
