  1. I agree. I does my swede in! I'm far from happy with most things at Rovers but it dilutes any sound argument by turning everything into negative.
  2. Thankyou mhead. It's reassuring to know that there are folk out there sticking up for the fans.
  3. Absolutely. Us fans don't even go on about half as much as most other clubs would.
  4. How come Burnley aren't publishing their crowds? Protecting their myth!?
  5. Me too. I have numerous concerns, as most of us have. This particular concern was raised in response to some previous posts.
  6. I very rarely comment on here but read a lot. Most of what is written aligns with my views. However, it often comes across to me that any other opinions in the fan base are sneered at as though they are from less intelligent/clued up supporters. I know of people who have stopped using this site for thst reason.
  7. That was without doubt one of my worst days both footballing and non footballing. It was the culmination of years of almost making it. Then this was the "surely this time it's happening". ......then it went sour again. Can't bear to hear "Glad all over", even now. On Armstrong, its really hard to judge how good he is. He's quick and scores goals at our level. David Speedie was better and Simon Garner did it for years, if that helps!
  8. I think we'd need to sell for 18.4mill to get a clear 10 mill. 18.42 - 1.75 = 16.67 (profit) 60% of 16.67 = 10mill
  9. Just catching up on the whole thread. I take my hat off to you pal. Even if what you're trying to do ends in failure, the very fact that you're leading by example and showing passion is enough. Maybe you'll inspire a few others.
  10. Yeah I'm sure you're right pal. I'm no engineer but couldn't any barrier that is built have an 'open' function when games arent on. The atmosphere is so important to me and I think it would help.
  11. I'd like to replace the Riverside in a way that reduces the current capacity. The ground is too big as it is. I seem to recall Preston's new stand is around 3.5k. I'd like to see it right up against the pitch. Also I would like to see the corners filled in, in some way (not by seats) as the gaps have a big negative effect in atmosphere. I know that the open corners is supposed to help with the health of the pitch (!!!!), but I'm sure in this day and age there are ways of somehow opening and closing any barrier that fills the corners in. Given that we would only average 25k in the Prem or 15k in Champ, out of a 30k stadium, we need to do all we can to help the atmosphere and the feeling of a fuller ground.
  12. To me legends aren't about how good they are but what they contributed to the club at the level they were. Bennett isnt a legend to me but will be positively memorable. And j believe he helped set a standard within the club. I have a lot of respect for him and to me he's not just a "thanks, and bye bye" player.
  13. Sounds promising. Please dont make the mistake of casting us as a lower league team who rose through the leagues. We've only been out of the two divisions for 7 or 8 years and won more than just the Prem League and always had decent crowds for a town our size. Used to really annoy me how we were spoken of as some former 4th Division club!
  14. I'd like to see a reduced capacity with the stand shunted towards the pitch making the corners filled in and preferably the height of the stand somehow fitting with the BB and Darwen ends. Mainly to help the atmosphere of the place. Crowd noise seems to get lost due to the current Riverside. If we could shut off the upper tiers behind the goals and so reducing the capacity to below 25k then 12k crowds start to feel a bit less sparse! Maybe even flag off the back third of the jw upper, making it feel fuller.
