  1. Cheers. Hopefully some kind of fitting tribute is planned. Fans like Birdy are few and far between in the amount of hours and money they put into following their clubs.
  2. Was Birdy the guy who has a house on the side street at the end of the DE car parks? I think there are life-size cutouts of him and his wife in the windows! RIP Condolences to his famly and friends.
  3. Never in any doubt. Terrible decision by the ref. Wharton clearly won the ball.
  4. It's based on the last 40 years or so. If by 'interesting' you mean accurate then I agree. You've achieved very little in that time but at least these day you're no longer having to apply for re-election😉 If we want to extrapolate over a longer period, the last time you won a major trophy was 1938. For Blackpool it was 1953, Bolton 1958, Burnley 1960, Wigan 2013. I've lost count of the major trophies we've won since 1938. Whichever way to want to cut it, the Nobbers are the runt of the Lancashire litter.
  5. Yeah, I was thinking of the modern era really, 80/90's onwards...but a starting point of 1978 would probably have the same outcome. PNE were in the doldrums with Burnley for most of the 80's and 90's. They had a half decent team 20 years ago under Moyes but have essentially been shite since Finney retired.
  6. This lacks any context. He clearly a very talented coach working on a very limited budget, beating teams with far bigger budgets at their disposal. He plays really good football, and as nearly every oppo manager has said, Rovers are very well coached.
  7. The heirarchy of Lancashire football: Rovers Burnley, Bolton Blackpool Wigan Preston Fleetwood, Accy Morecambe
  8. Gutted we're playing the minnows of Lancashire without any defenders or strikers. Fancy not ever playing in the Prem. Even B'pool and Wigan have managed that.
  9. He said his goal target was 10 last season and he was disappointed he only got 7. Whatever it is this season he's probably going to smash it. It's the quality of his finishes that impresses. I thought his 2nd yesterday was a difficult chance, he only had a small gap to aim for, but he made it look easy.
  10. We wouldn't have many players left if a mistake (that wasn't a mistake) is going to cost someone their place at the club.
  11. Yeah, he's a brilliant defender. We tend to go 3 at the back when in possession and Hill/Carter/Hyam looks a very good defence.
  12. Tomasson to consider red card appeal | rovers.co.uk JDT is considering an appeal.
  13. When you start to invent things it diminishes your argument.
  14. Selective as ever. Won us the game at home to Cardiff with a fantastic save. Produced an excellent point-blank save today from a close-range header. He has clear weaknesses, but a blind man on a galloping horse can see he has excellent reflexes.
  15. Ridiculously harsh. He's a very good shot stopper and his kicking his excellent. His obvious weakness is crosses.
  16. Kaminski made it clear he wanted the move to Luton when Rovers were in Austria pre-season. Reading between the lines, Luton made a shit offer early in the summer and TK wasn't happy Rovers refused.
  17. Those two challenges aren't remotely comparable. Duffy 'did' Dolan cos he'd given him the run-around in the first half.
  18. Tronstad is an old-school schemer. Batty-esque. Quality player.
  19. Mentions the 'CEO' again, and the budget cuts 🤣
  20. Down to the bare bones. Hyam, S Wharton, JRC, Gally, Hedges all missing. Just got to pray Carter is fit, and that Wharton's red card is successfully appealed, otherwise we'll have 1 fit CB in Hill. Hopefully we can cobble together a team.
