2025 Summer Transfer Thread. 😂
Tomphil2 replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Eroding the English core and spirit in the team is not the best idea seeing as it's the English Championship and a lot of it relies on effort, spirit and resilience. Although to be fair take away Travis and one or two others and we've always had a soft under belly anyway. I don't think these new lads will lack anything in the physical dept but it's what's on the inside that matters just as much. Time will tell but we can't afford a flair team so we are going to have to be a tough team. -

It was only a matter of time before 'the card' was played it was done last time. Doesn't help when muppets chant the name of someone who has zero connection to the club though. Playing right into the hands of those who have their own agenda they want to push. Chant the players names instead don't give the MSM the chance it's waiting for to find a suitable 'far right' target to smear and don't give those the chance to infiltrate the fanbase and use it as their vehicle. We've more than enough problems already so lets keep it clean. -

Gestede is just here for the wheeling and dealing of players imo and that's why he was brought in plus a nice new shield for the other guy who'll throw him under the bus the min he thinks it's necessary. I don't buy the 'shadowing Waggot on work experience' for one minute he's more likely been parachuted straight in from somewhere to help oust Waggot so they can carry out their latest plan unchallenged. -

The lass did though, credit to her for that. Sams a football man he seemed more like he felt sorry for Gestede. -

I've howled about my suspicions on this blokes involvement for years he is the undeniable constant besides them themselves and hes now helped wreck a side that was knocking on the door of the play offs. He's also managed to go through a manager, 2 head coaches, multiple backroom staff, a DoF and now a CEO in a matter of a few years but they were all the problem, not him. I'm so glad it's all finally coming to light he's the real power broker and BRFC and alongside the actual ownership he is the real problem. -

To be fair Shearer and Sutton have spoken up regularly and had quite strong pops at Venkys in the past. -

Think its been well documented the VH group is worth at least a billion although that might be in Indian money terms. Whether the land and all the assets they own is covered by that or separate who knows ? A handy way to make useless swathes of rough land pay though would be secure borrowings against it to run a foreign entity and cream a bit off for yourselves year on year. That theory has been presented on here in the past and it might hold a bit of water when considering they won't sell because they cannot afford to without losing land. -

They must have a good deal in place with Cantwells agent i cannot believe they've no tried to get him out the door pronto given his alleged wage. Must be some nice kickbacks promised if he gets a good gig somewhere next summer courtesy of his time here. -

He's on loan so given the nature of this deal i'd say his handlers plan is get him here, get him fit, showcase his talents whilst costing Rovers not much then get him as good a club/deal as possible next summer. Agents vehicle again. -

Comes to something when a journo feels he has to do that. This club is relentlessly toxic. -

We are replacing the club captain with a guy with one foot whose other foot won't be ready to play until weeks after surgery which no doubt we are paying for. Non of that matters though in the BRFC administration office because at least we don't have to pay him unless he plays. What could go wrong.... -

That would certainly underpin the managed decline a bit longer. -

That's how i see it as there's no way 1.5 million rejected turns into 1.2 million accepted in a matter of days otherwise. One thing is almost certain you'll never be paying the full 3 million god only knows what add ons they've agreed to their just to drum up the figure. -

Ha, Derby journo half an hour ago saying fee of 1.2 million agreed before add on's, 20 mins later Jackson pops up with 'fee could rise to 3 miilion with add on'e'. Never be in any doubt which hymn sheet he sings from. If you seek the truth in this start at the Derby end... -

Somewhere i have saved an article from the takeover time from an Indian business website who published an article on it and it stated they were using a bank loan for the purchase. I can't remember which bank it said it was but i know it wasn't the usual State Bank of India. It's always been my view that however it was purchased they got that money back pretty quickly through player sales. For balance though that article quotes only one bit of the company - Venkys India Ltd - which itself comes under the main head company of VH Group. -

And if he plays and just goes through the motions trying to avoid injury or he gets himself sent off then he's a liability. There's only one way to end this and we all know what it is and if not ten tell him you are going nowhere till summer so play properly and earn your wages or get suspended and fined. Then you'll be frozen out till the seasons end and only do your chances of a good contract somewhere else major harm. All party's need to stop effing about now including Derby. My own thoughts on this are perhaps those upstairs dragging it out till the windows end then conceding to Derby's offer at the last min therefore nobody else will come in. Derby might well be banking on that or gong along with it. -

Head coaches being open and honest is good but we have to remember it's only up to a point. In no way are they ever going to throw themselves under the bus nor their bosses, unless they feel it's time to get sacked and get paid up ! Literally hanging onto every word they say as gospel is for the fairies a pinch of salt is always needed. -

I've defended Pears in that past but there is definitely something not wired up right with him if the rumours are true and i don't doubt they are. -

The only reason we've had good seasons recently bar one and the only reason we actually stayed up then was down to the good starts and getting as many points on the table as early as possible. So yes this one feels different and what concerns me is the conceding of goals early in games, an issue that never seems to go away no matter who is coaching them. -

Think of getting rid of 6-8 grand a week and replacing with a grand a week....🫣 -

Tomphil2 replied to Neal's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
If we are destined to fight a relegation this season, sorry transition this season then we need a capable back up keeper not a rookie whose already in one game thrown away a goal. Beyond stupid to gamble on otherwise and at the moment that back up is Pears, only an idiot would get rid of him just to allow a kid to be backup. -
They'll be flipping him to Burnley for a few million once they are back in the Championship again.

Ian Poveda the lad they sign on loan from Leeds for 12 months for 20 grand a week then fail to insert any clause relating to what happens if he gets injured. He does, so he has to go back to Leeds for treatment as per contract but Rovers still have to pay 20k a week for a year ! Incompetence doesn't even begin to cover it and that was under Venus and Mowbrays watch. No wonder we never went anywhere under them i dread to think what money was spaffed on loans and wages for next to nothing in return.
