  1. So it will inevitably drag on and on for a year or two yet by which time - soon - we are out of players to sell to make any dent in the running costs. IF this carries on relegation is nailed on unless they bite the bullet and meet running costs AND court obligations and costs, plus the 20% money transfer fees ! I suspect the club (i.e Suhail) know this and this is why the stall is being set out and the type of guy they seem to be seeking come in for Waggot and run it on the breadline whereas he kept it just above that. Again the only real solution for the betterment of the club is sell it or at least seek investment from people who can do so.
  2. 'A deal up to 2 million Euros' Which means the actual price will be around a million quid paid in 3 or 4 instalments then there'll be various triggers along the way if he pulls them. I always remember the spin put on the transfer of Dann from Brum to Rovers which Nixon admitted was to keep the fans of Brums back. It was around 3 million but made the media as 7 mill however Nixon said it contained that many clauses it would be nigh on impossible for him to hit them. This one is far less theatrical of course but it'll probably be a while before it hits 1.8 million quid.
  3. That'll be the 90% business done then by the first week of pre season.
  4. How do you even know that ? You don't. Besides it's TWO clubs.....
  5. And Forshaw x2. Now the other 2 aren't desperate they are in demand so they'll go where the biggest pay is, naturally.
  6. The free agents will be ones who'll accept 1 year deals because they are desperate.
  7. Which is to be expected as if you are under suspicion of what they were/are and being investigated they aren't going to allow millions to leave the country and go to agents and other British or worldwide football clubs. Stands to reason really.
  8. I hope Nixon doesn't bet on the nags there's no way you can make much money betting each way on every horse in the race.
  9. Selective memory syndrome in full working order again across the fanbase. Totally missing the point he cost nothing, at age 18 was taken from the scrapheap and fast tracked into the team because he was holding his own on the training pitches with the seniors. Was doing good cameos at Championship level alongside guys on tens of thousands a week and against players on even more whilst he was earning 300 quid a week. The development club, developing kids line is totally defunct when judging Dolan yet one look at Kargbo running fast and yes he's automatically better. #uckin ell.
  10. A lot of people fall for it just read some of the comments on social media after the ever late to the party LT did a piece on the latest money transfer..... 'Backing the club as always see' 'Bust tomorrow without them' 'Moan when they don't send money, moan when they do' etc etc I know a lot are plants and bots but a lot aren't they are just so totally out of touch with what goes on beyond the bits that make media.
  11. I think if we spent a million pound on most positions in the team by a good manager and recruitment dept we'd have a better team. Paul seems to think that's revolutionary for some reason but the reality is we can't and won't anyway because cheap wages and no/low fees are the order of the day. We aren't replacing Dolan with better for nothing or next to nothing just like to replace a homegrown right back of modest ability with one with better wing back potential cost at least a million and will now cost good wages to keep him.
  12. If there is one thing this ownership has proved very good at it's the smoke and mirrors tactics.
  13. A comment i saw from a Sunderland fan in regards to that CEO was if Blackburn need to go into admin without bringing in the administrators then this is the man. Only saving grace is according to the job advert he wouldn't be a CEO at all just a non football non corporate non finance exec. Sounds like they want someone to run the rest of it as if it were on the verge of bankruptcy !
  14. No i'm clearly saying that Brittain was poor defensively till last season when he seemed to have found a more aggressive robust edge. Nyambe was decent enough in terms of defence in fact he was a beast at times just totally useless crossing the halfway line. Why hes fallen away who knows but his image of himself obviously didn't quite tally with his actual ability. He's not the first not to kick on the way he should have and won't be the last. I see your mental gymnastics and history adjusting are still up to their usual summer standards though, i'm neither surprised nor lost for words.
  15. But it cost a million quid to replace the homegrown Nyambe who up until last season was a still better defender than Brittain but useless going forwards. Is there a million quid available to replace Dolan on the same wages ?
  16. The frustration though is born out of knowing how good he can be on other days. Personally i found watching the likes of Corey Evans stealing a wage here much more frustrating than a developing player on peanuts putting the graft in.
  17. It's tasty on here tonight there's about 3 separate rows going on at the same time, i'm feeling left out 🀣
  18. Baker was a solid steady Eddie a bit like Forshaw but better imo however this is how it's set to go as wages get cut and cut cheaper doesn't mean better. There's a lot riding on this Portugeezer lad being a player because he'll have some big boots to fill in the near future.
  19. Well all the indications are he did. This has all the hallmarks and exactly the same pattern as with Lenihen and Nyambe and it's clear when our home raised players have become established first teamers the people running the show do not want to pay them a salary reflecting that. Similar with Brereton, they papped on about the 'flex' big fee low wages because it was an investment sigining. Then they failed to renegotiate along the way to try and protect that investment so in the end he walks for nothing when he would certainly have commanded some sort of fee. This is the central reason this keeps happening i think it's rather obvious.
  20. This is what iv'e been saying all along so i'm glad someone else has mentioned it, true or not. Some have really odd takes on the wages this club is now paying they seem to assume everyone is on 10-20k a week and if someone rejects a contract offer or doesn't get one it's because they are a greedy so and so. They really haven't been paying attention to what has been going on over the last 3 years that has led us to this point. Even if he's on 5-7k a week Dolan has every right to ask for double that and i think he should be on a reasonable Championship salary it would be an investment. There is no way on earth at this club he went from Β£300 or so a week to 7-10k but it's ok football manager style estimates say he did πŸ€ͺ So if he was indeed offered a double his money deal 18 months ago and he said no then now we know why.
  21. Previous to the court case they sent money when it was needed or when they felt like it but now they have to ask first and follow a set of rules laid out by the court, if they don't then they can't. Therefore there is an impediment.
  22. They are both pretty much run of the mill championship footballers who people obviously don't see much future potential in nor how they could go straight into their team and do a job. So there is no one prepared to pay a fee for them because their types aren't in demand they exceed supply at this level. If they became free or could be snapped up for a few hundred grand and would fit into the interested clubs pay bracket i think there'd be a taker, for Buckley at least.
  23. This will just be money or part of it that was requested months ago for running costs, most likely to pay down the overdraft on whats already been spent. That's all they are allowed to send otherwise there wouldn't be a court case or restrictions.
