2025 Summer Transfer Thread. π
Tomphil2 replied to Upside Down's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Absolutely totally and utterly to the contrary. What we need to see is all those players being kept to get us through this season, allow the new ones to bed in and just try to stay out of the bottom spots. No point whatsoever grabbing what will only be a few million quid to weaken the team even further and see next to nothing reinvested and a load more lightweight non Championship newbies come in. Selling anyone else is a pointless exercise unless 3 to 5 mill per player is dropping into the bank, which there is no chance of. Why are some so dead set on going with the Suhail agenda and clearing everyone out 'because they won't sign' ? We are fecked either way so for now stick don't twist we've had enough pain this summer lets not rubber stamp relegation under some fantasy that better replacements are on their way and will gel in a few weeks. -

What they'll do here over the next 12 months is cut everything back as they are doing, spend only the bit they have done, then only promote youth, bring in frees or a couple of hundred grand players and a few loans the next few seasons. All designed for another fire sale in 2 years that they'll be deluded enough to think will bring in similar money to this one and as you say those not sold will walk and there'll be another round of staff changes, reset, new journey/project/chapter or whatever. This is the model now sold to them by god knows who. League position is immaterial, maybe even league. -

So in other words he's here to make sure all the lads with 1 year left get sold and no big contract offers are made they might accept. -

Yeah it's basically a 12 month contract which i'm sure a player at his stage of career is delighted about. Said it before though all this is being done on purpose they know full well the situations they are creating. -

Alan Nixon goes out of his way to gaslight Rovers fans whenever an opportunity arises. He's a fud and a dud. -

Quite possibly. I know he put his name to the Mcfadz, Batth type signings but there was also Fleck, Dennis etc. A few million straight down the pan. -

Dennis is a complete dud and was a panic loan to try and pacify Eustace. Whoever spent that money on guys like him ought to be sacked it's as simple as that. -

We are owned and run by the insane though so to them all of a sudden it makes sense. The attitude there now clearly is 'why spend this, why do that' when you can do it for much less and just stay in the division. Sat in an office in London or India it might make sense to a foreign conglomerates accountants who are being fed this crap by a Blackburn based grifter. In the real football world at Championship level it's a one way ticket to relegation eventually. -

ACD always had something about him it was obvious when he first came here but he lost his way the Championship was too soon for him. He's another year fitter, older, stronger now we'll see this all the time when taking those kinds of loans because WE ARE A DEVELOPMENT club. Just seems maybe more focus is now going on developing our own instead of other peoples. Brighton probably got ACD's loans the wrong way around he should have been in league 1 first but no surprise to me to see him doing well. -

He'll sit on the bench on better wages and be brought on when they are 1 nil up on 60 mins i'd assume. -

It'll be the price that puts off plenty potential walk ups not the database. Oh and for context i think there was about 1400 Brum fans last time... -

The min Travis was brought back by Eustace and proved his worth to Rovers again is the min he should have had good terms slapped in front of him. Iv'e heard that a big reason for Eustace's displeasure behind the scenes from pretty early on is because he wanted contracts for his core players and prospects to be discussed but was outright blanked. In other words he went into bat for his players because they were doing it for him on the pitch, Mowbray and Venus always did similar that's why they loved him. Players never forget that kind of thing nor do they forget being snubbed in the vain hope they might accept something else offered further down the line. It's a Suhail, Waggot, Venky tactic that has failed time and time again..... or has it, from their point of view .. -

I can see him being a real problem but his shoot on sight is very erratic, they need to nullify his supply line but there's be no Travis to protect the back 4 now π€¨ -

Come on he isn't a Rovers fan or Blackburn lad there aren't many Barry Bannons around in reality' He sees the writing on the wall and there is nothing he can do about it after seeing everyone half decent sold or be allowed to leave. He's a late 20's Championship footballer on a modest - by Championship standards - basic wage so he wants security for his future it's perfectly normal. Add in he wants to link up with a gaffer who will use his strengths, a club with an upward ambition and he'll get a contract of 3 or 4 years worth several million in total. This isn't on him it's an the club just like two thirds of the rest we've now lost. -

Was always going to happen at some point that saturation point was reached. You can't have at this level an academy just churning out players for multiple positions year after year no matter how it's rated or how much it costs. I posted a few years ago there was a danger these idiots would suddenly think or be sold the notion the academy can solve half the problems every season but it seems they are in that mode hook line and sinker. They didn't like the advice against it from experienced people and coaches so one by one they've cut them away and now have a novice puppet running it and his yes man pal in the dugout. I think the recruitment staff are doing their best and have brought in a few who have obvious development potential but trying to blend them with untested kids and getting rid of all the experience and GOALS all at once is mindnumbingly crazy, pure amateur stuff. -

Due to ownership finance issues the desperate need to flog players to pay the bills and replace with cheaper wage ones has grown year on year. You'll be familiar with such issues and meltdowns i'm sure but yours were always well documented but ours have been creeping up slowly but surely over the past 3 or 4 years yet nobody outside out modest sized fanbase will be very aware of it. Our league finishes a few times over the past 4 years have belied the situation but the chickens are firmly on their way home to roost now. -

The warning signs of over promoting youth and the 30% of the squad pathway laid down by Broughton, obviously on instruction, nearly saw us relegated or certainly made a big contribution to that. They are going back down the same path but with a lesser squad and a load of cheap foreign imports who don't know each other. I mean what could possibly go wrong ? Did no one actually think about this or were they too busy trying to get rid of those who warned against it ( Eustace, Waggot, maybe Lowe and i bet certain players weren't shy of voicing their opinion either ). -

That already started the other day along with the bots being busy 'we only get 13k if 25k turned up every game not just Burnley we'd be spending more' F#ckin deluded lunatics they are. -

It'll be interesting to see how 'busy' the BBE end is after ST hikes and Β£35 match tickets in there just so they can fleece the Brum lot.
