  1. If he was made CEO in title then he's fully accountable to everyone and he doesn't want that so he'll continue to provide himself with a shied from scrutiny.
  2. It's like that anyway and i suppose Dolan was looking at people like Cantwell and saying i contribute more than him. It's more likely the recruitment dept have just been told to look at players on £10k pwk or less salary range.
  3. There's no way a player like Dolan on a modest current wage is going to say no to a pay rise even of a few grand in favour of staying on the same money for another 18 months so he walks for free. Non of that makes sense unless the loyalty bonus is massive or there is a pre agreement with another club and big pay hike/signing on fee. These are young championship players not multi millionaire Prem academy lads Dolan himself said he was previously in the first team on £300 ish a week. At the very least you'd sign your contract offer under the stipulation of a get out clause or bid trigger so i think it's obvious he was offered no real pay rise worth its salt.
  4. Not if its only just been introduced in terms of new sigings. In other words regardless of wages now being paid you can't bring in any new ones on over 10k a week. Not a dig at you but i'm amazed this seems to be so difficult to comprehend although obviously it's only a rumour previous experience tells us how things can change here overnight. Then change back again !
  5. To be fair Rovers neglected the overseas and European market for a few years so we've probably missed out quite a few bargains. No issue with scouring the markets and wages have mostly been a bit cheaper i'd say you'll get better talents in that bargain bin for a lot less wages than in the busted flush championship journeymen bin, we've been in that as well in the past. Trouble is matching the talent with the physicality and expectation in England which obviously the journeymen have that so you need a few of them as well. Whatever happened to the European/overseas scouting network TM spent money setting up and recruiting for ? As far as i remember thy turned up Kaminski and that was it before there was another project change.
  6. Some other young players 😀
  7. Both Waggot and Mowbray mentioned the Barnsley model a few years ago when ironically at the time they'd challenged the play offs under Ismael. They had the all in one first team and academy complex i think on one site and were quite advanced with their tech and coaching at the time. Focusing on academy products and scouring the lower leagues with the aim of most of their first team being made up of produced players rather than bought ones. No idea what's going on there now but their model has only been successful in creating a low budget, low expense top 10 league 1 club.
  8. Shaw, Agnew, Shebby, Senior then choas without even a CEO until Waggot so why is this one going to be any different ? 'Cue the "Give the guy a chance ffs" brigade. When the writing on the tin says what's inside it that's what comes spilling out of it when it's opened. The most worrying post Waggot thing is the real CEO now has free reign without challenge this end. That is truly petrifying.
  9. The guy at Sunderland employed Grayson and allowed him to sign Steele from us AND pay money. I don't care where Steele is now he was rubbish at the time and poor for them as well in league 1. This fella as their CEO presided over possibly the worst era in their modern history but once he'd gone they started climbing back. He'll fit the mould well here as they continue managed decline under the Barnsley model gearing us for league 1.
  10. But they don't really want a CEO do they that role is already filled just not in name. They want a Chief Administrator really who is only in charge of certain non football things, more like another 'Head of Heads'. So it's probably irrelevant who they appoint now.
  11. Hypothetically speaking just imagine if someone - in return for running the ship from the shadows or an initial stake or even a contract that is impossible to break without a massive payout - was entitled to just 5 or 10% of every buy or sale deal. That might not sound much but over 15 years it's a very handsome return and the kind of investment or involvement a very crafty clever snake would include in their deal with clueless mega rich new ownership. Remember how they were all in bed together at first and under scrutiny in the early days the Matriarch said 'Jerome's role will diminish as time goes by' she didn't say his involvement would end. There may well be a 5th member around that farmhouse kitchen table when dealing with Rovers. A member perhaps represented on the board by a duel agent who's worked for both companies. The sheer number of players who are seeing out their contracts here now is also interesting when considering this.
  12. Punishment for the snowball is the craziest theory on here the rot was well and truly set in way before that. The 30 million a season black hole they'd created which lead to a fire sale and relegation was less snowball and more Anderson/Kean, And Venkys own ignorance.
  13. The irony is all these players wanted to stay here but some of them haven't even been offered anything, that includes those with a year left. So really one way or another they are being forced out, a point a lot of people seem to be missing in the wider domain.
  14. It was a throwaway comment originally, google it if you don't know what that means. Meanwhile lets have your payroll evidence and your superior inside knowledge to Glen Mullan. I'll wait whilst you get your coat.
  15. They are accurate based on what ? Football manager ?
  16. Ah so thinking maybe a lid has been kept on Derby taking two players until we've signed a couple is a crazy theory but here you are confidently telling us what our players presently earn ! Amazing you are.
  17. It isn't a theory and it isn't crazy at all but think what you want you obviously know everything.
  18. It's possible but ... THEY HAVEN'T ANNOUNCED IT have they.
  19. I'd say the 10k think is correct you have to look at the bigger picture and all the things in it and for now it probably allows us to keep a few higher earners a bit longer, coupled with the squad filled out with lads on far less than 10k. Elements in the equation ... No/severely reduced funding Clubs surviving in the near future on sales income/low ticket sales The need to pull in line future wages to income ratio or risk punishment No players of any real value left to sell. A 10k cap makes perfect sense.....to them not us. I believe Preston had similar a few years but had no choice but to up it in order to compete but we are clearly being set up to go the other way. It's operation put a team out and don't go bust at Ewood now.
  20. What does that matter if the cap has on recently been introduced ?
  21. You're assuming concrete interest and bids that would satisfy Rovers and give the player a pay rise. The likely event is there is neither so unless they ask and forfeit whatever is owing in order to gamble on a move the fashionable thing to do at Rovers is play out or sit out your contract. Pick up your full pay and anything owing then go elsewhere free hopefully get bigger wages and a signing on fee.
  22. Not difficult to ask them not too really is it out of respect. These things happen in football all the time and they don't have to bother about shifting season tickets do they. All it takes is both players to say out of respect for Rovers to say please don't tip the press off yet By the way would you like to show me where Derby have announced it ?
  23. Because logically it's more lucrative to see the contract out at Ewood.
