  1. That’s what depresses me most about the current set up. No passion, no real will to win, no busting a gut to win the ball etc. Just going through the motions. The only time we step it up is when it’s a no pressure “ free hit “ game like the West Ham and Leicester cup ties.
  2. 100 mile an hour stuff. Real football.
  3. Well I think this strikes at the very foundations of the game. If he puts an easy chance over the bar how do you know if he did it deliberately or not ? Once you start thinking the game might be bent you’re in big trouble.
  4. According to my paper he backed his own team to lose 13 times ! And he gets a sentence which a large chunk of it is when he wouldn’t be playing anyway ! It’s a disgrace. Kay and co back in the 1960’s backed their team to lose so if they did lose their winnings would make up for the winning bonus they obviously wouldn’t be getting from the club. Their careers were effectively finished as a result.
  5. I don’t like either of todays teams. I just wish there was a way they could both lose.
  6. Just reading more about the Ivan Toney case. He is one very lucky boy. Peter Swan, Tony Kay and Bronco Layne got life time bans for less in the 1960’s ! Swan was the current England centre half and Tony Kay had just been capped. The other two played again much later on but Kay never kicked a ball in anger again. Plus he got 6 months inside ! Toney get’s a severe letting off.
  7. Speaks volumes regarding the mentality at the club.
  8. Mickey And Sylvia - Love Is Strange
  9. You never let your opponent get outside you. Inside was ok as a last resort. Just let them run into heavy traffic and pass them on.
  10. He was big in the US but an unknown in the UK.
  11. Ritchie Havens - Here Comes The Sun
  12. He was a great player with a great career but if he’d have looked after himself like Ronaldo has done he could have achieved more. A 17 he was fully formed and had it all.. One of the best teenage players I’ve ever seen.
  13. Get up the side of teams and the rest is easy.
  14. The “ inferiority complex “ comes from the top. As long as the Chicken Chokers own us nothing will change.
  15. The way the club is run from the top means we’ll never be able to hold on to anyone worthwhile for long. Be that players, back room staff, or managers. There’s no culture, no values, no nothing running the club. If he does go - make it soon so we can can get in a replacement.
  16. He also sorted out Jansen’s game.
  17. Great version in the film “ Blow Up”. Jeff Beck - Rollin’ And Tumblin ‘
  18. The Rolling Stones - The Singer Not The Song
  19. Yeah, he’s got great balance. I’m impressed most by his decision making. It’s instant and he rarely gets it wrong.
  20. It’s also handy that you have a guy receiving the ball from the back four that you’re confident in his ability not to lose the ball all the time.
  21. When my mum was pregnant with my sister she had mate who was going to give birth at the roughly the same time. Her mates pregnancy went on longer than the normal 9 months and when the child was eventually born she was suffering from that horrible condition. She was one of the first recognised cases, if not the first. The poor kid suffered terribly and died quite young. The was in the early 1960’s when the treatment hardly existed.
  22. I used to think that about Tugay but we had him in a role were he rarely got into the last third of the pitch.
  23. He’s not as mobile as Bell. Not many players were/are. He covered every blade of grass. We tried to sign him in the relegation season of 1965-66 but he chose Div 2 Man City instead. Being fair to him they were on the way up and we were on the way down. For me he’s more like Gordon Cowans before all the injuries.
  24. Waste of time him going there, unless he likes sea fishing ?
