  2. Yeah, cry me a river.
  3. No problem Herbie. If you can’t deliver for the 6th could you hold on to mine until I let you know I’m back ?
  4. Just been on their site for 20 minutes. It’s cheered me up no end. It’s comedy gold !
  5. Any chance of them arriving before I head off to Spain for a break on May 6th ? No problem if not.
  6. Then if JDT were to leave in the close season we’re only a step away from another no mark being appointed and being back to square one.

  8. I remember a similar incident to the Travis one when we were playing United at Ewood in the first game after the big freeze in 1963. United’s goalie had the ball in hand after a Rovers attack broke down. Fred Pickering’s boot lace had come undone so he bent down around the penalty spot to tie it up. The United keeper threw the ball out to Ute’s Albert Quixall about 35 yards from goal. One of the Rovers players pressed Quixall rapidly so he turned around and passed the ball back to the keeper. Just then Fred stood up ! The ball went straight to him. He trapped it with one foot and side footed the ball past the keeper with the other ! I was right behind the goals at the Blackburn End and I had a Birds Eye view of the incident. Fred had got married that morning and both teams formed a guard of honour for him when the teams came out. Then Quixall gave him that wedding present. It ended 2-2 unfortunately.
  9. We’d manage to regain possession with seconds to go and Derbyshire broke away with the ball at his feet in the old inside right channel in our half. City had players back so there was no chance of him scoring. All he had to do was run the ball as far into the corner as he could and try and retain possession. Instead he carelessly passed the ball back to nobody in centre midfield where it was immediately won by a City player. They put the ball in our box and scored the equaliser. I was fuming. Two points we were desperate for at the time thrown away. I don’t think Derbyshire played for the first team again.
  10. Me neither. They’ve obviously never been to Burnley have they.
  11. Chuck Berry - Too Much Monkey Business
  12. When we beat the all conquering Spurs team 7-2 at Ewood. Seeing Rovers win 8-2 at West Ham.

  14. I watched it on TV and I thought “ onside “. I only started to worry when they were playing it back.
  15. Joe South - Walk A Mile In My Shoes
  16. You can get 6 pts with only 2 shots if you’re lucky. If you’re really lucky you can get 3 points with 0 shots !
  17. I never pretend to be “ in the know “ because I’m not. I bumped into a guy I’d never met before last Friday at a gig. He found out I was a Rovers fan and he told me he was very close to one of our fringe players. No names. We got to chatting about the team . One thing the lad told him that Thomas wasn’t popular with some of the other players on account of him giving it “ large “ and being “ the big I am “. Going on about being at the last World Cup etc. Given he was playing non league not that long ago it hasn’t gone down too well. Take it or leave it.
  18. I thought that line about how you can be “ too near to play “ to get a really accurate view very interesting. I always thought lots of offside decisions were got wrong because the play was too near to the lineman at the critical time.
  19. He sat Chris Sutton on Tugay whenever we got the ball. Completely stopped us playing.
  20. I had one. Mine was blue and white as well. I can’t remember what happened to it.
  21. Yeah, you could see he was a top player. Like a lot of Eastern European defenders - he was ruthless when he had to be.
  22. Yes, thanks for down loading it.
  23. Neil Diamond - Cherry, cherry.
