  1. Neil Diamond - Cherry, cherry.
  2. I know what you were up to. I bet it wasn’t just your arms that was stiff. It was a pretty bad crush on the Blackburn End. Not really an enjoyable experience.
  3. Well deserved. The lad is a class act.
  4. If we did get promoted I’d be happy if the Chicken Chokers took all the money on condition that they pissed off and never darkened our doors again.
  5. There’s a really good article ( 4 full pages long ) in todays “ Guardian “ . It’s about modern day referees. Very revealing.
  6. If he gets a ban in single figures he’ll be doing well.
  7. Correct, that really is clutching at straws. Following one mistake by making another mistake never ends well in sport as we know only too well at Rovers. Appointing Kean, keeping him on when he came within an ace of relegating us, then keeping him on when he did actually relegate us is a classic example. Nobody can tell me that wasn’t deliberate. Show me another example of such stupidity.
  8. I think she was in love with Colin Harvey, from a distance I hope.
  9. I only took my first wife once. The FA Cup tie v City when there was 42,000 on. She didn’t like the crush on the Blackburn End. Not surprising really. My second wife grew up living in Liverpool and was regular Everton fan. I turned her on to Rugby League and now she’s Rugby League daft and won’t watch football at all.
  10. I’m surprised a steward hadn’t taken it off him.
  11. It’s the only way we’re going to increase attendances in any meaningful way. We need to make these new fans properly welcome. That probably means dealing with our “ knob head “ element.
  12. Hospital ? What happened to the magic cold sponge ?
  13. I’d be less concerned if we had a board who knew what they were doing. We lost a succession of really good managers in the 1979’s but each time we managed to get another good one in. I think with JDT it was more luck than judgement.
  14. That kid Brierley is playing well in a bad team at Rochdale. I hope we’ve got him nailed down at least.
  15. That’s completely unacceptable. Remind me never to go to a Rovers game again on a coach.
  16. I’ve no axe to grind in this case, I’m not an England RU fan. However what was boiling up to be a really good game was ruined by that incident.
  17. Them - It’s All Over Now Baby Blue
  18. I’m just reading the comments of the South African referee who sent an England player off in the Ireland v England RU game on Saturday. Effectively the outcome of the game was decided by his interpretation of what appeared to me to be an accidental challenge. ” Before producing the red card Peyper ( the ref ) explained to Steward ( the lad who got the card ) and the England captain, Owen Farrell, that he had no other option but to make it a red “ in the current climate “. After the match it is understood Peyper expressed his fear he would not be appointed to referee another high profile game in future had he not sent Steward off “. I’m thinking he’s not fit to referee another high profile game if that’s his abiding concern.
  19. Good review of the game in todays “ Guardian “. ” A hymn of limbs and lungs, a game of pure vibes and pure desire. This was an FA Cup quarter final epic to stand the test of time “. The commentator is very complimentary about Rovers but - “ Tyler Morton - perhaps the outstanding player in a Blackburn shirt “.
  20. I agree. If he does go that must be near the top of his list of reasons. That’s why we’ll never thrive under the Chicken Chokers.
  21. I don’t agree there matey. Refs have been giving penalties for ball to hand since I was a lad. Were you at the Dingles v Rovers FACup tie back in 1960 ? The ball bounced up off Alex Elder’s boot, hit him on the hand, penalty.
  22. And to think Shaun Edwards played 75 minutes of a Rugby League Cup Final with a badly damaged eye socket and a fractured cheek bone. Of course we are talking about real men here, although Edwards was about 21 at the time, and not boys.
  23. It doesn’t show the Derbyshire dropped bollock on that.
  24. It’ll certainly complicate their run in. We’ll see if we can take advantage of that.
