  1. It reminds me of when Arsenal came up against Big Sam’s teams at Ewood. “ They don’t like it up ‘em “. By all accounts Everton never stopped running, especially in midfield. Just what we’re short of.
  2. I think you’re right there.
  3. He didn’t need to hide, it’ll be business as usual next week. Move along, nothing to see here.
  4. The days of strikers just hanging around waiting for things to happen, or somebody setting them up, are long gone. You’ve got to have a presence. That was my beef with Rhodes, most of the time he didn’t contribute anything to the way the team played.
  5. Mowbray played centre half all his career. Did you ever have the impression we were well organised defensively ?
  6. Yes. I thought Mowbray signed him later then gave him a new contract.
  7. A professional ( Mowbray ) thought Gallagher was worth signing - twice.
  8. He’s got all the downsides of Jordan Rhodes without having Rhodes ability to put the ball in the net.
  9. Something changed in less than a week at Everton, same when Big Sam came in here.
  10. You wouldn’t have to look far too realise that isn’t the case. Pro football is a very small world and even the dogs in the street know we’re a basket case of a club. No excuses for anyone thinking Rovers is a normal club, unless they’ve been in a coma for the last 12 years.
  11. You got it in one. Too often our opponents want it more than we do. How did Everton beat Arsenal yesterday ? They wanted it more, simple as that. The problem at Ewood is there are absolutely no consequences win-lose-or draw. It’s just on to the next game. You can’t run a football club like that. But we all know that don’t we.
  12. It wasn’t all bad in the early 1970’s , Tony Field etc , but I’d rather not go back there.
  13. Sorry but I’m expecting another no show with the players feeling sorry for themselves. Then I look at the difference in attitude Dyche has made at Everton in a week.
  14. A pedant writes - It would actually be the fourth time we’d have been in the third tier if we go down again.
  15. He won’t get a better chance than the one he put wide against Big Club at Ewood.
  16. Before you get too carried away the game was at Everton. Great win for the Toffes though.
  17. He needs to put some pressure on the players in the future.
  18. He managed to swerve the sword.
  19. From todays BBC football gossip page - “ LA Galaxy right back Julian Araujo’s move to Barcelona has fallen through after FIFA ruled the paperwork to finalise the 21-year old’s transfer was submitted too late “
  20. If he does now would be a good time. Before the inevitable slide down the table starts. In other news - there’s a long article/interview on Duncan Ferguson in my paper today. In it - “ He came close to getting jobs at Blackburn and Middlesbrough “.
  21. Playing it around at the back cost us the goal.
  22. Or a Jimmy Kerr or a Stephen Agnew.
