  1. He was on the bench on Saturday.
  2. I’d say losing over half the fan base means the droves have already left.
  3. The ink wells had run dry in the office.
  4. Not much, I haven’t seen him play to be honest. It appears he’s a skilful player who’ll put a foot in even allowing for his lack of stature. Their fans seem to rate him but when you’re bottom of the whole football league anything half decent is a good player. They’ve had two similarly highly rated young lads come through recently - one went to Wolves and hasn’t done much, the other went to Norwich and hasn’t done much either. The one I really rated was the keeper they had on loan from Brighton, Sanchez, but we know how he’s gone on.
  5. I wasn’t a massive Khadra fan but he’d have been better than nothing.
  6. As you can see he’s a young giant. We need to get him on the Guinness and steak asap.
  7. That must be the one I mentioned. Obviously one for the future.
  8. This is how ridiculous it’s got. I was on the Rochdale fans forum a minute ago and a poster reckons there’s a photo on FB with Brierley holding up a Rovers shirt. Take it or leave it as Mick Jagger once sang.
  9. No point playing Dack up front. He can’t play there and you lose his ability to ghost in and score goals from deep.
  10. I second that. A much missed contributor along with the guy in Australia who gave a play by play account of each game. I didn’t always agree with Parson but I respected his views on all things Rovers.
  11. The lad from Rochdale is a midfield player. He may become a good player but at the moment I can’t see him featuring in our first team. I’ve not seen him play in the flesh but he looks to be built like Clarkson.
  12. I blame the owners for their refusal to get properly involved in the day to day running of the club. It’s immoral to behave in the way they have.
  13. The Rochdale forum think that Brierley isn’t going anywhere.
  14. Then there was the goal straight from a corner at Rotherham and the parry back into the danger area against Cardiff that led directly to a goal. Pears has been ok in my opinion. He had a day to forget at Wigan but how many times have you seen a long hopeful cross end up in the far corner ?
  15. I’m thinking Jack Nicholson in the diner scene in “ Five Easy Pieces “. “ You see this sign ? “
  16. From all accounts the other clubs that had been interested in O’Brien had pulled out. We couldn’t even sign a player when we were the only team seriously interested
  17. “ Nothing “ seems to be the answer to that one.
  18. We never really strengthened last year and we were in a better position than we are now. We just signed bits and pieces players, not one of them, with the possible exception of Giles, would have gone straight into the first team. When you are in the position we find ourselves in you need players that improve the team, not players to sit on the bench.
  19. I’m really pissed off with that. O’Brien was just what we are short of in midfield.
  20. I’m sick and tired of saying this but if in any football club ( or business ) the people making the crucial decisions are so detached from the day to day running of the club then you are being set up to fail. It can’t possibly work. This applies especially to a football club.
  21. It’s just a place where people go to earn money.
  22. No wonder we’re a laughing stock to the rest of the football world.
  23. We can’t rely on our opponents scoring for us every week.
  24. I have a “ Roberts “ internet radio when we’re out in Spain. I can get Radio Lancashire on that. I paid about £80 for it years ago.
  25. Not signing an experienced striker will be nothing short of a major cock up. Not signing an experienced striker and an experienced midfield player will be disastrous.
