  1. He’s making Grella look like “ The Six Million Dollar Man “ !
  2. I’d have had another option- next season when we’re in the bottom three.
  3. Vale got injured almost as soon as he arrived. I think he’s only been back a week at the most.
  4. I reckon if Mowbray got off the bus and then said - “ All those who fancy playing today follow me “ he wouldn’t have enough for a seven a side team.
  5. My grandson was born in 2007 and my son has worked on him from as soon as he could but he’s seen Rovers playing shite 90% of the time !
  6. I was just reading a quote about the new Chelsea manager - “ Every player has to find motivation from within but it is the manager who sets the tone “. Exactly.
  7. I would have liked to have seen him go up against Mike Harrison in a shoot out. With the possible exception of Shearer nobody hit the ball harder in my time as a Rovers fan.
  8. That was the only time I took my eldest son to Ewood. He’d be about 11 and he spent the whole game just looking around the ground and hardly watched the football at all. He’s never been interested much in football. I took his younger brother to an end of season game a few seasons later and he’s been hooked ever since. We’re both trying really hard to maintain my grandson’s interest in the club but given the rubbish on display recently it’s not easy.
  9. I think they might have. I can’t recall a hotter Cup Final day in early May.
  10. So he’s more or less saying to the players - “ If we lose at Norwich on Saturday by one goal it’ll be a good result and I’ll be content with that “. He’s an imposter.
  11. Who was it said “ If you have tears, prepare to shed them now “ ? Everything went wrong all at once - Dougan breaking down after the first minute or two, the Mick McGrath own goal, Dave Whelan breaking a leg. The game was over as a spectacle at half time to be honest. Nine and a half men on a blistering hot day May Day. No subs then. As I said earlier, we did well to keep it to 3-0. It was the first time I’d seen Rovers on TV and I remember taking my ball outside on my own and just kicking it against a wall until the empty feeling went away.
  12. I’m expecting a repeat of the last time we played there, was it a 3-1 defeat ? I know we were played off the park right from the first whistle.
  13. If we don’t get rid soon we are going to be in the small group of teams fighting relegation right from the off next season.
  14. I’ve just been reading a quote from an old time Big Club player about their problems. ” It doesn’t matter who you put in charge, if the culture isn’t quite right there are always going to be things that surface to the top. Unless someone can go in and have a good sweep out , you are just creating more trouble “. The time for our “ good sweep out “ is now.
  15. I see Lee Bowyer got a win in his first game against high flying Reading. He’ll keep Big Club up no problem. There’s a photo of him in my paper looking animated on the touch line. Another one who would have been a step up from Mowbray missed.
  16. Without a doubt the most dull, turgid, un-inspiring, boring, clueless, football I’ve ever seen at Ewood and I started in 1961. Carry on with this guy and they’ll be able to shut three stands and get everybody who turns up into the Blackburn End next season.
  17. Some of us said so at the time but got the usual shouting down. Possibly by the same people that thought signing Brererton and Gallagher were good ideas as well.
  18. Last time I was in the “ Owd Betts “ Ellery Hanley was in a quiet corner with someone who may or may not have been his wife. He was maintaining a pretty low profile until I said “ How’s it going Ellery ? “ as I was leaving.
  19. Wales have been lucky so far. The got a dozen point start against England courtesy of the ref and then played against 14 men against Ireland and Scotland. I fancy France to beat them this weekend.
  20. By any measure he should have been fired by now. Current form, league position, number of goals scored, abysmal lack of entertainment on show. You name it, it’s the pits. It’s killing the support base. We’ll be lucky to get 7,500 home fans next season if a change isn’t made.
  21. It’s hard to say what would get him the sack. If Jack had have been here he would have been gone about 2 years ago.
  22. I can’t do links but in today’s Sunday Observer New Review there’s a photograph taken of the audience at a wresting event at King Georges Hall in Blackburn on the 27th of November 1987. Along with the obligatory little old ladies there are a couple of people who may recognise themselves.
  23. I saw the tries. I thought the final pass to the French winger for their second try was a forward pass. Not by a lot but just enough. They don’t seem to bother in Union as long as it’s not a mile forward.
  24. It was a red hot day as well. We did well to keep it to 3-0.
