  1. I'd honestly be delighted if he eventually comes good. Stranger things have happened before. However the point is/was that for the sort of money we paid out we needed a player that would hit the ground running and make an immediate impact. We didn't get that.
  2. It's ironic that we eventually managed to sign Gallagher. He's one I would have been quite pleased to miss out on.
  3. Another young goalkeeper on Brighton's books. He's been on loan at Rochdale this season.
  4. To clear one or two things up. I saw McLoughlin play once in the flesh and I liked what I saw. He's a tall unit, calm, agile and seems to be focused. If I was a Rovers scout I would have been going back to have another look or two before signing him. Maybe we did. From what I saw I think he could have been a good signing and I'm disappointed he's gone to Rangers. Somebody else mentioned Sanchez as being better than Walton. That's a possibility. I've seen Sanchez a few times and I think he'll go on to have a good career in League football. He reminded me a bit of Raya. Again a tall and agile guy capable of some terrific saves, and then like lots of young players, capable of the odd brain fart. I'm not a massive Walton fan, he wasn't an upgrade on Raya in my opinion. If Sanchez came it would be somewhat of a gamble given his age but the lad has ability.
  5. Exactly. How long have we been in for McLauglin ? It must be months. Gerrard must rate him even if some on this board don't.
  6. If there's any truth in that, with him being a Scot, I could see him ending up there. Steven Gerrard must rate him as a decent 'keeper.
  7. We might have been better off selling it to a bunch of 5 year olds.
  8. Anybody can be " badly advised " once but this lot have made a career of it. If I had more time I'd compile a list of all the terrible business decisions they've made at Ewood. It'd be a very long list spanning a lot of years.
  9. Wether you like Dyche or not you know where you stand with him.
  10. Terry Eccles was a centre half we converted to centre forward. He wasn't bad.
  11. Callum Camps, who people have mentioned in connection with Rovers in the past has been released by Rochdale. It'll be interesting to see where he ends up. They've also released their long time leading scorer Ian Henderson. Henderson would have been a decent signing when we were relegated but that ship has sailed.
  12. " Could ", " Some ", " May ". Just setting the scene for the next U turn.
  13. I feel it'll be like eating a toffee with the wrapper still on or, as I said a while ago, kissing your sister.
  14. Another old boxing saying - " The only thing square in boxing is the ring ". I boxed at school. Three x three minute rounds. I was a fit as fiddle and it was still by far the most tiring sport I ever took part in Half way through the third round you had a hard time keeping your guard up. The thing about boxing is when you meet up against somebody better than you it can go South pretty quickly. In football if you meet up against a team better than you then you get beat 6 or 7 nil and it's embarrassing but it's not the end of the world. In boxing you can get physically hurt.
  15. As far as I can see our line-ups are usually " a little experimental " !
  16. His parents must have been Scottish I expect.
  17. " Gangsters involved in boxing " ? That's a new one, do bears still shit in the woods these days ?
  18. Any photos of Batwoman ? Smiley Face.
  19. You've got to admire the Aussies though, there were some real characters involved, especially the dis barred lawyer. If I'd have been on the jury I couldn't have convicted the guy on that evidence.
  20. Yes. The lack of DNA evidence on her clothing given the contact she had supposedly had with the the killer was surprising.
  21. I'm not overly bothered about that. There must be other decent left backs out there.
  22. We're now watching the true crime series from Australia about the missing/murdered back packer. Did his girlfriend know more than she's letting on. Very interesting.
  23. Yes the ball was got forward quickly most of the time. Of course if you only have one forward to pass to as in modern football that isn't so easy.
  24. Do you think so ? I was only thinking the opposite, Ball and Stiles in particular looked like schoolboys.
  25. I can't say I'm thrilled with that list. Do you have to be over 30 to sign for Rovers these days ?
