  1. Yes there's a lot to do, but it was expected when we changed manager anyway to be honest. And yes past transfer experience and the sluggish nature of it will haunt people, at least for now though we have to trust Broughton to pull some strings and get that side of things right. Proof will be in the pudding.... If Sharpe is right and Broughton is returning to the UK before the players, he may well have his shortlist tucked away in his suitcase and get straight down to business. Why else would he return home sooner...
  2. Season tickets holders getting priority for friendly tickets is just plain weird and more effort than it's worth
  3. There's every chance we weren't even planning on retaining Nyambe as our first choice right back, that Zeefuik was pencilled in as stepping into his shoes. Obviously that didn't really work out because of injuries. Whether he was just unlucky or simply a crock I guess we'll never know. Fans (on here anyway) are getting frustrated there's only 1 player through the door so far, hence this thread being 90% bollocks and bickering. Think about it logically. We've got a new manager and a slightly less new DOF. Reports suggest Park already had a list drawn up for potential signings. Would it be THAT ridiculous if JDT wanted some time with his current crop of players first before going through said list, or indeed finding his own targets with the help of Broughton? I certainly wouldn't want us signing players willy nilly without input from the new gaffer. Do people really give a shite that Burnley have signed a few players from league 1? Just my opinion but it suggests it's Pace signing them just like he did with Weghorst- look how that worked out. I find it hard to believe Kompany knows league 1 inside out.
  4. Regardless of if we think he'll stay or go, surely we can't ignore the fact that Salernitana's record transfer stands at 5.8M, prior to that it was 4.2M in 1998!! Do we really see them smashing their transfer record to sign Diaz after narrowly avoiding relegation last season? Doesn't add up to me for 1 minute.
  5. Salertinata? Christ unless we're selling him for peanuts he ain't going there. Scraped up by a point last season and in the thick of another relegation battle next season I'd imagine. Unless they've had some big cash windfall?
  6. Great new on Philips signing the new contract judging by how highly rated he is 💙🤍
  7. Twine confirmed for the dingles, would have liked to see him here
  8. It'll be someone's job to scour social media and give feedback, presumably the person who runs twitter etc, who in fairness does a good job.
  9. His todger is miles too big to wear short shorts
  10. The club as a whole is undoubtedly in a better position for JDT, an absolute shit show from top to bottom when TM came in. As things stand IMO the squad is also better, there'll have been a much BIGGER squad for TM but a lot of shite within that. If someone came sniffing for Kaminski for example though we'd have a problem, we're in a position now I'd say where nobody else can leave and new faces need to come in in the next 2 weeks. Football fans by their nature think their own players are better than they are, hence we've seen so many players over the years amount to nothing after they leave. I think that'll be the case with Nyambe and Rothwell. Lenihan could go either way but I think he's going to be a good player for Boro and they'll be up there this season. I hope they all do well mind, certainly no bitterness from me.
  11. Is this gonna be a new thing now, championship first team managers moving to prem clubs as assistants? First Critchley, now Warburton. I know he was out of work but given his previous job and I'd say he's about championship level.
  12. Would be a good time for a follow up Broughton interview now. He's got his feet under the table so what are the priorities, obviously without giving too much away. The biggest loss by far up to now is Van Hecke, you'd have thought its going to need to be a loan to replace him with anyone remotely close to his levels of ability though. It'll be interesting to see if he plays much for Brighton pre season.
  13. Is it me or does it look like 2 different shades of blue? I know its obviously just the lighting but not sure which is most accurate. I would imagine the top one as it looks like its got some light hitting it. I don't really care so much as I won't be wearing one, but that logo really is the pits! Looks like something I'd come up with on MS paint in year 7 IT at school.
  14. Swag has confirmed he's leaving as no agreement can be reached..... Always gets mixed opinions this subject but I'm not overly bothered personally. BUT In the telegraph article it says JRC is an option at right back. No, no he isn't! A new signing is a must now, even if Brown does turn out to be half decent.
  15. Christ even if the friendly got cancelled the gate will be a horror show. Didn't season ticket holders used to get the first league Cup game free or have I imagined it? Around the late 80s/early 90s, I'm old though and can't remember.
  16. Initially thought Blackpool away in August, real do! Then realised its a Wednesday FFS Sunderland away boxing day is a real treat though 🥳
  17. Is the DOF going to Portugal though? Certainly won't be training with them I wouldn't have thought!
  18. Not claiming to be an expert on the Allsvenskan, but 3 different teams have won it in the last 5 years so....
  19. I guess that's how Blackpools offering differs. Season Ticket holders get priority, then the members, then general sale. I'm not really arsed about that aspect though as we've got enough season ticket numbers in our group to go round for the aways
  20. Can't even remember the 1875 club if I'm honest, will have been a ST holder then though. Just seems an easy thing to do and there's very little required from an administrative point of view. Might just be my selfish thinking though as it would suit me....
  21. I'm not getting one this year but it's purely because there's no value in it given my circumstances. I'll miss most midweek games due to work/family commitments and miss a few weekend games because my other half has to work some weekends and other social commitments usually crop up too. What would appeal to me is a membership scheme similar to the Blackpool model: Adult, Young Adults (18-21) and Senior Memberships are just £15 for the season and includes: - £5 discount on all matchday tickets (1 per member) - Priority purchase on away ticket (after season ticket holders) Sounds like they've done it so they can charge away fans 30 quid a pop but their members would get equivalent tickets at 25 a pop too, quite clever if a little bit naughty. Simple yet effective if you ask me and I'd buy one tomorrow as it'd suit me down to the ground.
  22. Well its a ridiculous, inaccurate comparison then isn't it 🙄 Most of them have been proactive and managed to get their numbers up, apart from Wigan who seem as bad as us on that front - although they have shifted around 6k apparently.
  23. You think we'll sell more than Burnley? Haven't they sold like 14k or something?
  24. Sam did a great job, no doubt about it, I'd never have got rid of him the way we did. I think ultimately we'd have started to struggle though ala Dyche at Burnley. He only really had 1 way to play, suss that out and you're snookered. I guess that's part of the reason I'm excited for next season, fresh ideas, tactics, players (hopefully). Had Mowbray still been somehow in charge I'd be dreading it.....
