  1. One thing that was quoted was the time that goal celebrations take.
  2. According to Pier Luigi Collina there has been an instruction to more accurately account for stoppages, building on what was done in Russia in 2018. Apparently the fourth official calculates the amount of time to add on, although the on pitch referee has to finally approve it. Time lost for VAR rulings is calculated separately by the VAR team.
  3. I remember seeing him at Glastonbury in 2014 when he was still under his terminal diagnosis and then subsequently in Manchester. i suspect I also saw him as a Blockhead with Ian Dury in the early 80s. Unique.
  4. You've just made me feel very old Joey, never having seen Matt Le Tissier live. He is the player who I've seen score the best individual goal at Ewood. I also saw Pele, although by then he was past his best. For reasons I don't know he and his team Santos came to Hillsborough in February 1972 to play Sheffield Wednesday in a friendly - I was in my first year as a student there. It was due to be played on a midweek evening but it was the miners' strike and power cuts meant it had to be played in the afternoon. Still managed to get 37,000 on though.
  5. I'm afraid that this might have been my fault folks. I bought my 3 month old granddaughter a pair of Rovers dungarees and took them down to her last week in London. She had them on whilst we beat West Ham on Wednesday, so I made arrangements for her to have them on by 12.30 on Sunday. She duly did but around half time she threw up all over them, as 3 month olds often do, and had to have a change. Sorry.
  6. I know what I saw BigBar. Buckley wasn’t our best player on Wednesday but it was a very competent performance.
  7. No he didn’t. He had a very decent performance. You’ve been listening to Sparks too much.
  8. Garrett was excellent on Wednesday night. He deserves a start for me.
  9. Right now very little growing, although there is a spectacular colour show from the acer. just picked the last of the tomatoes from the greenhouse today, the apples were the last fruit about a fortnight ago. We have an allotment as well and I need to be getting the garlic in quickly, it's a bit late already. DeeCee - run a mower over them to chop them up and make leaf mould, wonderful stuff.
  10. Had they been organised they could have had that stadium ready as a wet weather alternative but they obviously can't just switch the game at the last minute with no prepared pitch - I would sooner have the title shared than a lottery game.
  11. They will have to build it first Chaddy - there isn't one at the MCG.
  12. I think there are two competing pressures here. The fact that this game will be one of only two home games for Rovers before Christmas, plus it being school holidays should help ticket sales. But being a few days before Christmas everyone is usually very busy with preparations, parties etc - usually the Saturday games just before Christmas have lower gates. I would agree that making cheap tickets available to ST holders and to anyone buying a Preston ticket would be the best way forward.
  13. On last night’s evidence Liverpool away is not unwinnable.
  14. The view from the upper tier was atrocious - it must have been the best part of 100 yards to the pitch from there. The beer service was fast with plenty of staff but the choice was bloody awful. No proper beer at all. There are plenty of good options for bars in the area but you have to know where to go. If all you saw was between Stratford tube and the stadium there is nothing at all worth visiting. We were in Hackney Wick, just on the other side of the ground and there was lots of choice. Although nowhere was cheap I had a couple of nice pints for £5.50 in the very trendy Beer Merchants Tap, only 10 minutes from the ground. We were also back at my son’s house by 10.30, which I think is the quickest I have ever been back from a professional game since I lived a 10 minute walk from Bramall Lane for a year as a student in 1972/73.
  15. Whilst Rovers are always well supported in the south east we don’t normally get those sort of numbers on regular league games even on a Saturday afternoon. I think there are plenty going because it’s a new ground as well.
  16. Not down here in East London it isn’t. Lovely day today.
  17. Matt - don’t expect to save too much drinking elsewhere. And avoid the couple of bars in Westfield, they will be rammed with Hammers fans “enjoying” poor expensive beer.
  18. I think Chaddy likes to go his own way.
  19. I saw someone had suggested over 1,500 before the weekend. On Friday the lower tier had sold out but I’ve no idea how many that is.
  20. I expect that it’s unlikely that many who turned out for West Ham this afternoon. Presumably though as a PL league team also playing in Europe they will have another team with plenty of PL experience, but by and large it should be a game of two second XIs.
  21. The London Stadium. Plenty of tickets at £10 each.
  22. A few minutes before he came off he had a quick word with JDT - I assumed he was saying that he needed to come off. It’s hardly surprised that the two players who were touch and go to be fit, him and Gallagher, came off.
  23. Why? 1. it’s in the multi-faith room, not on the pitch. 2. The remembrance activities will be on the pitch when the teams come out, not at 2.45.
  24. Some more news BigBar. It sounds like there will still be a lot of disruption tomorrow, as everything had been set up for a strike day. Assuming you're in Manchester tonight I would get down to Victoria earlyish in the morning and see if there are any trains to Blackburn. If there are, all well and good. If not it's a short walk to Shudehill for the fallback buses.
  25. Be careful BigBar. Whilst the strike is off there will still be some cancellations tomorrow as there are still staff shortages. Best to check early tomorrow and don't leave it until the last train.
