  1. Just found this on a Swansea messageboard posted this morning. Looks like the fans think they aren't playing as well as results suggest... Thirteen games to go starting with this one, and even the most one eyed Jack has to admit (a) that we've had some amazing luck this past week and more worryingly (b) we've hit a serious slump in form compared to earlier in the season. Thankfully this slump hasn't been totally reflected in results, but it concerns me greatly as we reach the sharp end of the season. I think the root of this slump has been the drop off in form of our two main strikers, Ayew and Lowe, and perversely the arrival of Hourihane, which has left our midfield lacking balance and bite, and has left Cooper scratching his head about how to accomodate him. The serious injury to Morris has removed the obvious alternative up front. The big question now is, can Cooper find the right blend in the front five to get this team firing again at the level shown against Norwich at home a few short weeks ago, or is our promotion challenge going to fizzle out? Answers on a postcard, please.
  2. The Forum did take place. I'm in the middle of writing up the minutes and as soon as they are all agreed I will post to that effect.
  3. Although I've never tried it I'm fairly sure you can.
  4. I assume that I was too, although it would have been very close to when I went off to Sheffield to university. I then started a few years of trailing around some of the fleshpots of Yorkshire football following Rovers, like Millmoor and Valley Parade. I also did a lot more fun things as well!
  5. It might be an idea for a mod to add the kick-off time to the thread title - 6pm.
  6. One where the responder can answer yes or no without giving any reasoning. There are times when a closed question is right to ask, when you actually want a yes or no answer - like in a job interview when you ask a candidate if they have a driving licence. In this example you would allow a yes or no which would just close down the discussion.
  7. You should know that Tony Mowbray does not attend the Fans Forum. It's usually Lynsey Talbot, Steve Waggott, sometimes Mike Cheston and occasionally other members of the management as appropriate. Historically the Forum never discussed on field matters from when John Williams set it up. Latterly others including Steve Waggott have been happy to do so.
  8. There has been a sickness outbreak in the England camp. It's not clear who has been affected and whether anyone will be ruled out of tomorrow's game but I guess that's quite possible.
  9. In general that’s fair comment but I suspect that anyone aiming to be manager of Celtic would be in for an interesting time in east Glasgow if he was outed as a boyhood Rangers fan.
  10. Rev - the two planning applications are publicly available on the RVBC website.
  11. Tris is Chair of the Fans Forum and Ste B is also still on although work commitments mean he hasn't made it too often recently. And of course I am on as secretary. brfcs does also have a rep on but I hesitate to put it on here without their permission not knowing their user name.
  12. Dreams - they have a new album out shortly and have just announced a tour in November.
  13. Undoubtedly the state of the pitch made all the discussion pre-match about what effect the pink ball and day/night games have. There was some suggestion that playing as the dew came down has helped seam and hindered spin in the limited evidence we have had so far, but the game never got to that stage. That was presumably why England went with 3 seamers and 1.5 spinners. I imagine there are distraught managers at Channel 4. They bought the test package on the assumption that this test would give them good ratings on the Saturday and Sunday with play times at 9am to 4.30pm and all that's now gone. There can't be a lot of ad money to be made in games starting at 4am UK time. Hopefully they insured themselves. I see that Sky have snapped up the one dayers and 20/20 games. They should have good viewing numbers with the 20/20 games starting at 1.30pm and the one day games at 8am/9am.
  14. I write them Mike, but don't usually post them on here! The minutes are posted on the Rovers website under More, Fans after every meeting. Brfcs.com does have a rep on the Forum but it's not me. The next meeting of the Forum is a week on Monday (8th March) and Brockhall will obviously be on the agenda. There hasn't been a meeting of the wider Fans Consultation Group this season yet due to the pandemic. The club have been hanging on hoping to be able to have a face to face meeting but it looks like they will have to arrange something online. Again we will be asking for an update on 8th.
  15. We have a Sonos sound bar for the TV, two speakers in other rooms and a new Sonos Move which as it's name implies can be used remotely from its base. So far it hasn't moved out of the dining room but it will come into it's own in the garden as soon as the weather improves. As for what I'm listening to, it's mostly Radio 4 during the day but my Sonos app tells me that the music I have listened to in the last few weeks has been Laura Marling, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, Matt Berninger, Arlo Parks, London Grammar and Belle & Sebastian.
  16. Houses on the Northcote Park development on the A59 opposite Northcote and very close to Brockhall were on from £625K. There's one left at £850K.
  17. Barrow have parted company with their second manager of the season as Michael Jolley has left. An interesting twist on normal reasons in that Barrow say that they and Jolley "have differing visions for how the team should play, which has led to this change being made". Rob Kelly is back in temporary charge.
  18. Coventry's second goal was worse for Raya. Tried to play out when completely closed down and Coventry snatched it and four passes later it was in the net. Brentford never looked like scoring and that's 3 defeats in a row for them after a long unbeaten run.
  19. It's here Chaddy (and everyone else) - https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2021/february/watch-rovers-under-23s-v-west-ham-united-under-23s-live/ it's single camera coverage but free.
  20. Hayden Cater appears to be doing well at Burton. Rock bottom of league 1 but they have won 3 of the last 4 since he went there with three clean sheets and he’s got a goal.
  21. It looks like they have stuck to their original plan. It was always planned that Jimmy would sit this one out and Buttler would fly home for a rerst before the one dayers. I don't think Jimmy's age has anything to do with it as everyone keeps saying that he is as fit as he's ever been. I just think they want to keep everyone fit. A full 5 dayer in Chennai must be very draining - I've been and know how hot it gets.
  22. I’m pretty sure Ched Evans will start up front for them. He started on Saturday and Neill has been singing his praises since.
  23. Results in Ayala's 9 games - 2 wins, 3 draws and 4 defeats. 2 of those defeats were against Watford and Norwich though.
